My first time coming here was honestly pretty disappointing. The food was actually really good, but the service was terrible. Our server, Tommy, was very rude to me and my mom and acted like he did not even want to be there. One thing that really stood out was when I asked how big the large pizza was. Instead of just answering my question, he said with an attitude, "Just an average large size, I don't know." I was just asking a simple question, and the way he responded made me feel like I was bothering him. He also smelled strongly like cigarettes, which was pretty gross. He barely checked on us, and our food took forever to come out even though the restaurant was not busy. There were only two other tables with people, and another waitress was taking care of them. After we finished eating, he just dropped the checks off and walked away. We were actually going to get dessert, but after the way we were treated, we decided not to. The food was good, but good food does not make up for really bad service. I'm back here for college, and I really like pizza, so I probably would have spent $500+ here during the school year. But after this experience, I probably won't be coming back. It sucks because this was my first time here, and one server completely ruined my first impression of the place. read more

We have eaten at this place for years and not have had too too many bad experiences. . Last night we were very disappointed. We walked inside and in the front stood about 6 young people. They looked up, and never greeted us. We stood for a bit and finally someone said can I help you. We said we are a party of 4 and wanted to be seated so we could watch a football game. They went back to standing around. I made a quiet comment that there were open tables and wondered why we were not seated. Apparently they were expecting 2 parties of 15 people and thought we were part of one of the groups. After standing there we said we would like a table for 4 and they questioned if we were with any party of 15. What? While I get that they were scrambling around to get places set up for that many diners, have the courtesy to GREET people who come through that door. Their behavior was rude and not what an eating establishment should have, representing good service. After I had questioned about being seated, our server who was one of the young people just standing around, rolled her eyes as if she was annoyed that we wanted to be seated. Not good behavior Old Chicago. Not good at all. Better have a strong talk with who ever is up at the entrance to be more FRIENDLY and COURTEOUS when guests come through that door or you will lose customers. Not acceptable behavior at all. We eat here and the one in Missoula approximately 4-5 times year traveling or staying in either location. The best service by far I've had in years at any location. The food was very good also. We have been going to old Chicago for years and always loved the consistency , portion size and value. Today was my birthday and got the chop salad which is my favorite . It was awful , the size of a dinner salad for $15 no avocado anymore and simply a rip off! The individual size pizza is now kid size for $15 !! I came from a restaurant owning family and I can tell you when you start skimping on portion size and taking the best ingredients away people stop coming ! I for one will never go again ! You were the one restaurant that was always consistently good . Sadly not any more . Good luck! I'm not sure why this restaurant gets such poor reviews. I was weary about eating here from the reviews but I actually had a nice dinner, and the food was decent! I got the Sicilian pepperoni rolls and a side Caesar salad. For the type of restaurant it is it's not bad. I wish my server was more attentive though, he would ask me how I was doing and would scurry away really fast. There was a time in the middle of my meal where I wanted to have some sprite, but the few times he checked on me I could not get a word out before he walked away. Pizza was pretty good. A little doughy when it got to me. I got the combination. And I also got the artichoke dip appetizer which was huge and it was extremely good. Have great flavor. There's sausage on their pizza. Has an amazing spring to it. It's got lots of flavor. It's very very good. Ordered a French Dip and fries via Doordash. Order was delivered without fries, no lids on the sauces (Au Jus and Horseradish) so the sandwich was inedible for me (I cannot eat horseradish, and did not have the option to decline it while ordering). Asked for a replacement, which was verified by Old Chicago via both email and text, then got jerked around for over 2 hours before being told by the latest dasher (the 5th one to try to pick up my order) that the order had been picked up. Contacted customer service to verify the order had been picked up, and once I made that inquiry, Old Chicago cancelled my order, so that they wouldn't have to own up to their HORRID lack of service and total incompetence. Jett, a manager of this business, was seen tonight eating a blizzard from Dairy Queen in plain public sight , for all customers to see. She was also present with manager Brian . They ( Jett and Brian ) were also seen eating at a back table in front of everyone , when told the staff this is not allowed . This is so unprofessional and will reflect business from me and others. The DC chopped salad was awesome! Great flavor! Thank goodness we only ordered half salads! They are huge. The honey, mustard dressing was a perfect blend. I'm very much between a three-star or four but I'll just round it up. I called in an order for an individual-sized pizza since I was staying at the hotel next door. They said it would take about 30 minutes, which I think is standard. I walked over after 40 since I was finishing up a workout and the hostesses informed me that the kitchen was a little backed up and it wasn't ready yet. They were friendly and nice and it did seem a little busy inside. I only waited there for a couple of minutes until they brought my pizza out. I went back to my hotel to eat it. I did think the size was a little small for $14, but it's probably listed on the menu and I just didn't fully read it. I got the OC thick crust with pepperoni, sundried tomatoes, and basil. The pizza was very good except the sundried tomatoes and basil were burnt. The basil was burnt to a crisp.. Everywhere I've gotten basil on pizza, which is like almost every pizza I get on a monthly basis, the basil is fresh. I assume it's added after cooking or when it's almost finished. I'm not sure why they cooked it with the basil on. Regardless of this, the pizza was still very good. I would come back but probably just get pepperoni so I can avoid all the burnt stuff. That'll probably decrease the price by a couple bucks too. read more

How could we not when it was just chips, cheese, 3 slices of peppers, about 2 slices worth of floss-wide slivers of pepperoni. When we asked about it we got, "oh! We ran out!" Had a family dinner of seven there this evening. We sat outside and the music was a little loud for us so we asked for it to be turned down a bit which they graciously did. They have a very extensive menu so we were all able to easily find something of interest as this was our first visit to this establishment. We were promptly serviced by a friendly waiter. I will start by saying I am from out of town, and the ratings had me a little worried. However, I couldn't have been more pleased with my experience. My drink was very well made, my mozzarella sticks were amazing, and my cauliflower crust pizza was probably some of the best, crust wise, I think I've ever had. Our bartender/server was really nice and had some good recommendations on beers to try as well. I did go on the later side of operating hours so it wasn't busy at all. As well as, we did a seat yourself thing. It was pretty quiet for the most part, but busy. It was easy to have and hear a conversation. I arrived and was given a rough time over my desire to not sit in the bar area. I had to decline three times in a row. ( I don't like the tall seats ) I was seated after a reasonable wait, and given a wet table...no napkins or utensils at this time. The table was so really wet, the girl who seated me mentioned that they wiped down the table that's why it's wet. It was so wet the menu was hard to remove from the table. I ordered the meat lasagna, it didn't say that it was a soup. I have never seen lasagna that resembled soup. It didn't taste awful enough to not eat it, but I certainly wouldn't want to try it again. It was a decent sized portion, and I didn't bother taking the leftovers. I was never offered a refill on my drink and basically abandoned at my table. This was my first time at this Old Chicago, and having been to other locations , I know this isn't the norm. Garlic cheese bread is just your garlic toast from the freezer section with mozzerella thrown on top. My pizza crust has the crispiness of a soft taco from Taco Bell. Seriously underdone. But that's what you get with kids running the joint. Honestly, severely disappointed in this place. Used to be decent but that's clearly in the past. To avoid disappointment, be sure to ask your server if the kitchen has the ingredients for the menu item you hope to order--before placing your order. Seems odd, but this location will gladly serve you and charge full price for partial items. Case in point: I recently ordered an item that had four ingredients. When the dish was served, I pointed out that it was missing one main ingredient. "Yeah, we don't have that ingredient right now." I was charged full price. Now I'm posting this review. Changing from 1 to 5 stars... why: I've now been here 3 times since the bad review. Blame Covid or maybe a change in management or staff.. came here with coworkers. The food options were great and really good. The staff was super friendly and attentive and did I mention the food was great. My coworkers and I loved it. Not sure why it wouldn't let me edit my old post so I created a new one. Old review: Called this place at close to 7pm told them I wouldn't be there till 1130. Told me they take orders later than that no problem. I get there at 11:15, and "sorry bud, kitchens closed, no more food". I really have had it for places that do this to their customers, especially ones that call ahead and let them know they'll be late. Also when I walked in there was no one to great, stood there a few minutes then walked up the the bar and all the servers walked around me and avoided eye contact and even sat at tables by themselves. Place really needs some basic hospitality training. Very sad for a state like this. Me and several coworkers were looking forward to eating here but I had to tell them not to come and then there were zero food options in the area except the gas station, as we were all staying at the hotel next to the restaurant.
