We ended up having the nachos and the oysters. The oysters were good. The nachos were OK. The drinks were also very underwhelming. My son had a Paloma and I have tasted way way better. Service was good. Everyone was friendly and answered all of our questions. This is a really cool place to come and hang out with some friends, but it's more about the atmosphere than it is really the food and drinks.

The food menu wasnt long, but there was plenty of variety. We all shared the tasty varied charcuterie. We rounded that out with a crisp mild goat cheese and caramelized onion flatbread, drizzled with a little sweet huckleberry glaze. Cocktails were creative, with several huckleberry choices we tourists love, and a handful of specials 4-6pm. They have nice array of regional craft beers, plus many regulars. There are great views in all directions. Mountains are closest to the east and north, and you can also see them further to the south. We saw some of the advancing spectacular sunset, viewed directly, and watching the color on the mountains. This was perhaps the best dinner&drinks view of our visit. Prices were quite reasonable.

There's also a free two-hour parking area directly across the street which made it super easy. We shared the bison burger and the peach bourbon wings, and both were excellent. The wings especially had the perfect mix of sweet and spicy. Drinks were also great. What really made the experience stand out though was the service. Our server was a 10th-generation Montanan (wish I remembered her name!) and she was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive the entire time. You could tell she genuinely loved the area and wanted guests to enjoy it too.

So when we visited in September, what a delight to be strolling down the avenue and come across the store for this distillery. We were able to sample their whiskey and other spirits. They have quite the wonderful array of posters and signs of their unique images of the The Western gals as a throwback to the old type of branding from decades ago. They even had a poster cutout that you could pose with.

The bartender was pretty rude too and didn't seem to be into working here at all. The only clean table was by the door and it kept getting opened while the next band set up so we just moved to a table with dirty glassware on it. The drinks were pretty lackluster (especially compared to the awesome ones upstairs). I don't think it was that the menu was inferior to the other, I just think the bartender didn't care. Both my drinks were watered down and icy. Pretty sad for the price to be honest. It got pretty crowded for the second set being played so we decided to leave to let other people sit. Live music I think nightly. Great drinks. Food too. What more could you ask for? I've seen some great bands here. Many seating options from booth in the back to tables in the middle to the bar rail. Instead of trying to make it right, the bartender told me they would not remove them from the check. Everyone can have an off night, but what really left a bad impression was the lack of customer service and unwillingness to correct the problem. It wasn't the best pizza I've ever had, but definitely wasn't the worst either. The Montana Burger was really good, and the bacon was amazing. His food and cocktail recommendations were spot on, and he was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. As an added bonus, his voice carries exceptionally well, so hearing all of those recommendations was never an issue, even on a busy Friday night. Copper is a great spot, but Trent is what made the experience memorable. If you find yourself sitting at his bar, settle in--you'll leave with a great meal, a great drink, and a much longer list of places to visit than you arrived with.
