Good meal and good experience. This was between 4 and 5 stars. I sat at the bar and the service was great at the start. Super quick to get the first drink and food order. My server knew the special menu, regular menu and drinks very well. I ordered the bison patty melt and tots for the meal and the Bridger Hazy IPA for the drink. The bartender recommended the IPA and it was excellent. The homemade tots were great. A shredded potato in the middle, nice and creamy and crunchy exterior. Feedback was there were only 5 on the plate. Definitely could use more. The bison patty met was perfectly cooked. A lot of folks overcook and dry out the bison. It was perfectly medium and juicy. Feedback would be a little char on the patty would be great. The service really tailed off in the end, it was not super busy and they had about 5 servers behind the bar. I sat there for at least 15 min until another bar tender asked if I wanted another brew and my server came about 5 to 10 later to attend to things.

Great energy in a huge dining room. Service was friendly. Drinks were good. The only thing we had that wasn't great was the spinach artichoke dip, otherwise bison steak was cooked to perfection.

I cannot stress enough, how amazing this place was. My family and I sat outside and were right away given menus and food choices. Our server was Maddie and she was intuitive to any allergies or food preferences that our family might have had. Then the manager even came by to let me know that, although I ordered the poke ( which was amazing by the way), that came with wontons, the wontons were fried in the same oil as the pork food..( I told Maddie that I don't eat pork products). That not only did the manager give me alternatives and options instead of the wontons, but he also made sure that I had any other additional allergies. The beer my husband had was spot on and he said it was one of the best beers he has ever had. Definitely worth the drive and the wait to sit outside if necessary. But as a tip... Go sit outside and ask for Maddie. She was awesome. The ambiance was spectacular

First of all, Adam was our waiter and was phenomenal at explaining the menu and story of where the restaurant's food came from. The look and feel was relaxed. We even decided to eat here back-to-back because the food was so good (see photos). They have daily specials that change each day and the desserts rotate as well which made it super fun to each two nights in a row. Definitely a great spot to try!

I've been here many times. The vibes are great. My sister's companion Hamilton enjoyed his experience watching the World Cup. The food is pretty good-- the meat definitely tastes different here in Montana. Our server was very helpful and explained the menu very well. Would be a good spot for a date night. Dessert board is always pleasant to look at-- corn cake was OK, cheesecake was very creamy and delicious. Some entrees are great, some good but not so much.

Our party of 4 ate here for our first meal in Montana. The place is much bigger inside than how it looked outside. When we came in at around 4pm, there seemed to be plenty of tables available but after an hour, the place quickly filled up. Vibes/Service: Parking lot in the back and it seemed there was some street parking available as well. Many, many tables available with bar seating as well. It can certainly fit a larger group. Great service from our server. Checked on us often and filled up our waters. Food: Because it was our first meal here, we wanted to try out their staple dishes. -Bison Potstickers ($16): 5 pieces topped with mango and garlic chili sauce and served with some coleslaw. Rich and filling, paired well with the sauce. Would order this again! -Bison Patty Melt ($22): it was my first time eating Bison, the waiter suggested medium rare. It looked more red than I usually like but it actually was juicy and tasty-- I guess this is the difference between a regular beef patty. I'd also order this again. -Served with pepper parmesan fries which was so uniquely food. Fries were fresh. -Huckleberry Cream Ale ($8/pint) paired well with my meal.

Only came here for drinks so I can speak on the food. However I did get an amber ale that was really great! And the service was really friendly. The patio dining is so cute with lights and just a fun place to go.

I've been to Montana ale works several times and it's quickly become one of my favorite places for dinner in Bozeman. It has it all: a vast, delicious menu, excellent service and fantastic ambiance! I love the salads and the fact that they offer tofu as a protein, which makes it accessible for every dietary preference. The Asian ramen salad is my absolute favorite. It has such a distinct umami flavor that I love! I most recently had the house made veggie burger and it really hit the spot. It was so tender, flavorful and nutritious. The fries were also amazing with a perfect texture and so flavorful. I love that it used to be a train station and that it still has a historic feel despite also feeling upscale. I'd highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion.

If I could give it 10 stars I would. When it comes to the food. Josh and I have yet to go to a restaurant where we both agree the food is absolutely excellent and beyond expectations!! Our waitress gave is great recommendations. Service was great. Food was even better. Ambiance Is perfect for all occasion.

Food came out promptly and was delicious. We got the wings with sauce on the side- the Asian sesame sauce was to die for (better than buffalo)!!!! Everything was perfect and flavorful. Very cute and eclectic restaurant. Our server, Emily, was wonderful and knowledgeable about the menu. 10/10!!

Great place! Entrees are a bit expensive, but sandwiches are delicious and reasonable. A hack is that any patty can be swapped into any sandwich. I got the elk burger as described on the menu and it was great! The fries are some of the best I've ever had. There is also a nice selection of beers. I recommend the huckleberry cream ale. Service was fast and friendly. The building looks like an old train depot, and the whole place has an old west, train vibe, but it looks clean and modern at the same time.

Everything was delicious. Bison potstickers had a great flavor, the soup was amazing with the crispy cheese on top, and everything washed down nicely with their homemade root beer. Our waitress was so nice and gave us some local recommendations.

We stopped by for some snacks and drinks. Our server, Thomas, was very helpful identifying beers I would enjoy and very detailed with the specials for the night. The Asian sesame wings were tasty, but the wings were a bit small. The queso was delish and the red pepper jalapeño soup was fabulous! This spot was very busy, but the service was pretty solid. It is a great spot for a large party too.

One downside? They need to change their name! I can NEVER remember it and neither can my friends. Makes it less memorable in a spot that would otherwise be high on the list!

The wings especially had the perfect mix of sweet and spicy. Drinks were also great. What really made the experience stand out though was the service. I hate to compare but it's crazy how different two places can be in the same hotel. The service here was abysmal. We came at the end of someone's set and it wasn't that crowded in the bar but almost every single table was dirty, with empty glasses on them. There seemed to be one bartender and another person helping. That person literally just stood there talking to people instead of cleaning up the tables. The bartender was pretty rude too and didn't seem to be into working here at all. The only clean table was by the door and it kept getting opened while the next band set up so we just moved to a table with dirty glassware on it. The drinks were pretty lackluster (especially compared to the awesome ones upstairs). I don't think it was that the menu was inferior to the other, I just think the bartender didn't care. Both my drinks were watered down and icy. Pretty sad for the price to be honest. It got pretty crowded for the second set being played so we decided to leave to let other people sit. I wasn't interested in having another icy sad drink.

The wait is not that long.. we came here as walk in's 2x on our 1week stay that started in Bozeman, went down to Yellowstone, then to Idaho for UTV riding and then to Jackson Hole WY to go see the Teton National Park. It was nice to walk around the local shops while we waited and then afterwards to work off those delicious carbs. Thin crust pizzas clean, fresh, not heavy and seasonal ingredients. The crust is soooo good. Chewy and some char. We had: Montana Burger Royale My teen son dreams about this. Yes its 27.00 and he said its the BEST burger he's ever had. I would have to agree (and we live in Austin TX where there's great cow) -the burger meat melted in your mouth -the egg dripping as you break the yolk was perfection. The bacon so juicy, the brioche bun (that was the winning touch) We shared: Hot Honey Pizza- so good 9/10 Spicy Burrata- also great. 8/10 Mac n cheese- that was the only miss. Way under seasoned and the white sauce seemed to get sucked up by the pasta so the dish was super dry. 3/10 Frites and Fondue- fries were great. Thick cut with finely shaved pecorino.
