    Thin crust pepperoni & sausage
    Laura L.

If you are coming here expecting Chicago style pizza you will be thoroughly disappointed. Especially with the Chicago thin crust. If you're actually from Chicago and you've eaten thin crust pizza you know there's an art to it. That crispy crust with that perfectly thick layer of melty cheese cooked just right... you won't find that here. Very doughy. Cheese is thick but not just not right. Flavor was okay. But not Chicago at all. This place fell super short of being Chicago style.

Hello, just a loyal founding member of this OC. My wife is also a founding member of this OC location as well. My wife's name is not on the founding members board (not the first time it was mentioned). Also, we patronize this franchise because it is less than a few miles from home. Last Wednesday the calzone special was not available when we asked, unlike the previous week. The staff either does not know what is going on or does not find out when asked. There was a flier at this location with the Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday deals. There was no flier posted anywhere last Wednesday. This location has real management issues, affecting service, customer satisfaction, the ability to generate positive reviews, and failure to follow the well thought out mass marketing efforts that loyal customers are receiving on digital media. The staff are generally great if you overlook the obvious lack of leadership they have.

My order was left at my door with the boxes standing on end. While that was ok for the calzone and cookie, the pizza didn't fare so well. I don't know who they use for delivery, but they should know that they are delivering a pizza and that the vox should be flat.

Maybe I'm just bias, but I love this place, the vibe, atmosphere, and just the energy... I recently was the DD for my wife and some friends, we were going to wait for a seat, however the bar was open and could be seated immediately. We had a blast the two bartenders were a blast, working together like they've been there for years. My wife and friends ordered food, (don't really remember) buttt I ordered the Italian Nachos, YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO when I say these things are the BOMB.COM they are LEGITTTTTT! So legit that I call to make sure when I go and ensure they have them lol. There pizza is dope as well, there wings(Bone In of course l) are LEGIT as well 10/10 would recommend.

KIDS CHAMPION CHEESE PIZZA and apple slices

My family has been here quite a few times since my original review 6 years ago, and I've gotta say I think this trip may just be our last. It really seems like ever since the start of the pandemic that restaurants like Old Chicago can't keep their quality what it was pre-pandemic. The restaurant just wasn't very clean, the floor and tables were sticky, but I can look past those things if the food is good. As always the ale crust on my Chicago 7 was delicious, I mean that ale crust is what saved them this time. My son's cheese pizza was also good. The bad: his apple slices were brown and there was a hair stuck in the sausage on the Chicago 7 pizza. Ya need to step it up Old Chicago!

My new go-to pizza joint with good vibes and grub. Let me preface this review with the fact that I showed up to this place skeptically due to my chronic review checking -- anything less than four stars on Yelp I tend to ignore. However, someone in my group wanted to try something new and I grudgingly went with. I'm glad I did. Service was right, vibes were great, and the food was delicious. We started off with some boneless wings (buffalo and bbq) as appetizers and they were good -- nothing to brag about or anything. However, the pizza was the real showstopper, truly. I got the Farmer's Daughter Detroit-style pizza and the rest of the group split a Chicago 7. Both were absolutely delicious. I adored mine especially, and enjoyed the Chicago 7. I only wish that the 7 had been a bit more cheesier. Other than that, I have no complaints. Definitely definitely will be coming back!

Went for music bingo with some friends what a great time .. we shared some appetizers . Food was decent service was quick considering they were pretty busy.

I love the new menu choices. I haven't posted in a while and thought a great sounded nice. They do have outdoor seating available along with an indoor outdoor full bar. There's a window inside that you can watch the person making the pizza dough. It's entertaining to watch them mold and shape each individual ball that will soon become a hot pizza for guests to enjoy. The waitress was attentive but seems like we where a nuscence. The bruschetta has this balsamic dripping onto of chopped tomatoes basil. It was warm, and flavorful. The pizza was chopped full of toppings. I even needed to use a knife and fork. But boy did I enjoy each bite. Will be back again.

Honestly this is one of my favorite places to go after going to the movies. The pizza always taste fresh and I loved our server. The decor on the inside is great and definitely check out trivia night on Mondays too.

    CRAFTED BEER BURGER*

Best pizza in Jacksonville, NC hands down. Perfect service from our server Anthony (part time bartender), and they make the best buffalo wings I've ever had. The spinach artichoke dip is something you definitely cannot miss. Savory, salty, and semi-sweet (pita chips). It's a party in your mouth. Their house ranch and blue cheese should be able to be purchased by the mason jar (and should). Everything I've had here has been good, from their appetizers to their burgers to their pizzas and more. This spot is the place you want to be on a date night especially with drink specials!!.

Unfortunately this restaurant has recently gone downhill. It was very clean and efficient for a while, but the service seems to be dwindling. I ordered over the phone, came in within 15 minutes and it was all cold and floppy, no crisp to the fries, fish or pizza. I also got pasta, and it was poorly seasoned. So...definitely not worth the price. The food just doesn't have the care & ambition behind it anymore, maybe chefs have switched out. I hope it gets better, this place was a prize for this city when it was functioning like new.

We enjoy coming on Tuesdays for the pizza deal. Today we ordered the shotgun shrimp appetizer, a side salad, and the 33 Deluxe small pizza. We also decided to try a strawberry and a blackberry lemonade. After a short wait our shrimp and salad were delivered. Both were good. Our lemonades were delicious! Of course the pizza was delivered after we finished our appetizers. The pizza was great. Our server, EmilyB, was great. Always positive and smiling. We also noticed Japanese baseball was on. Didn't expect that honestly. This restaurant always has an active and vibrant atmosphere. There's seating for all types and television screens everywhere. During football season, this place is packed! The reviews are all over the place. We have always had a good experience here. If you're unsure about trying Bubba's 33, I recommend giving it a try. They have a variety that fits almost all appetites.

My thoughts have been compiling for three days and I think I'm finally ready to share them…read more This was a completely last-minute decision. Like, "we're already in the parking lot" last-minute. My daughter chose Bubba's 33 over Mission BBQ (which, for the record, I also have thoughts about, but that's another review). I'd never been to Bubba's before. Between all the hype around town and the endless debates in the local mom groups, I just never bothered. After this experience, I can confidently say my streak will likely continue. If you're looking for a place to waste time, Bubba's 33 absolutely delivers. Generously. Abundantly. Olympic-level time wasting. My 8-year-old and I waited about 20 minutes to be seated, which wasn't a huge deal. We got settled, our server greeted us, brought our drinks, and then apparently entered the Witness Protection Program. For roughly the next hour, she became more myth than employee. Meanwhile, tables seated after us were getting appetizers, entrees, refills, desserts, probably college degrees and retirement plans while we sat there staring at our drinks wondering if we'd somehow become invisible. Eventually our server reappeared and said, "I'm going to check on your food." Perfect. Except I then watched her walk to the POS system, print something, wander around a partition, stop and chat with another table, visit the table behind me, casually migrate to the hostess stand, disappear for about 30 seconds, reappear, make direct eye contact with me, and then immediately go help yet another table. At that point I wasn't sure if she was checking on my food or participating in a scavenger hunt. For context, our incredibly complex order consisted of: * Chicken tenders and fries. * A bowl of chili. That's it. Not a 12-course tasting menu. Not a custom-built wedding cake. Not an endangered truffle flown in from Europe. Chicken tenders. Fries. Chili. I've seen Amazon deliver furniture faster. The truly disappointing part is that we'd actually helped facilitate a jersey and helmet that ended up on their wall. So technically, I've contributed more to the décor than my server contributed to my dining experience. Maybe we caught them on a bad day. Maybe there was some catastrophe in the kitchen. Maybe my food is still being prepared right now as I type this review. All I know is that my first visit to Bubba's 33 somehow felt longer than most relationships I've been in. One star for the drinks arriving before retirement age. One star for teaching my daughter patience. Everything else remains under investigation.

But we also want good food and service. We didn't find any of that here. Some great effort and details on the pirate theme, all the way down to the door knobs in the bathrooms. There are fun pirate statues around the dining room, great for selfies. And there are skeletons and much sailing masts and sails hanging from the ceiling. But it ends there, the staff is not really engaged with the theme, no costumes or pirate accidents. Thats ok too, but we felt the staff was just over worked and too few of them. I would give them a 4 for the decor effort. The food. It was just okay, and really expensive. Priced like it was some destination themed restaurant hitting all the marks but it did not. We don't mind paying top dollar for a great meal. But this was lunch and with no alcohol (we don't drink) are bill was almost $90 for lunch. I had ordered the dry rub winds for an app. Anywhere in the world that means a dry rub on a fried or rarely baked wing and no batter. What I was saved was a chicken nugget like you'd buy in. a bag at the grocery store with maybe a tiny bit of chili powder mixed into the batter. There was no dry rub no the nuggets simply were not very good. My wife ordered a bowl of soup and ribs on the side. She liked the ribs and tangy sauce. The chicken soup had peppers in it which she can't eat. The menu said just like Mom used to make, dies your mom put peppers in her chick soup, not table pepper but actual peppers. I ordered a double cheeseburger and fries. The fries were ok. The waitress asked me how I wanted the meat, from rare to well done. I asked for medium rare, that should have some pink inside and be juicy. I received a well don burger with dried out and tasteless meat. It was served so hot that it melted through the tomato and bread on the bottom. It also came with an onion ring. That was cold limp and dripping with oil. A real disappointment for a $17 dollar burger. Last was the drink, I ordered a diet soda, it tasted like those suicide drinks 8 year old boys make when they take a little of each drink at the soda fountain to be funny and then won't drink it because it was gross.

We went here to shoot pool, they had apparently remodeled and purchased the store next door and expanded. The place looked brighter and cleaner. New looking tables, the bartender Susie was very friendly and helpful. The strike against them was their food or at least their chicken wings. They had these big drum sticks, no flats and they were over cooked and down right just plain BAD. Told the bartender she apologized and said would fix some more but they didn't have any flats again it would be the big drumsticks. We declined and asked to swap for a sandwich. The bartender apparently isn't given the permission to make such an easy decision to keep customers satisify. She had to call the manager and then we waited, and waited over an hour an a half. I finally asked for a credit to my bill, again the bartender had to call the manager. Once the manager arrived she was very nice and apologized for the issues. She credited the food. She asked for us to comeback for a better experience. I will try again and hopefully will give a better report on my next visit. Again the people were nice and the place looked good, it was just the food we ordered and the wait to resolve the issue.
