The Thai Pie is the reason for the 4 and not a 5. Pizza was Chicago style and Thai chili sauce was delicious. If you look at the pic, you can see the overcooked pieces of chicken. My wife's name is not on the founding members board (not the first time it was mentioned). Also, we patronize this franchise because it is less than a few miles from home. Last Wednesday the calzone special was not available when we asked, unlike the previous week. The staff either does not know what is going on or does not find out when asked. There was a flier at this location with the Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday deals. There was no flier posted anywhere last Wednesday. This location has real management issues, affecting service, customer satisfaction, the ability to generate positive reviews, and failure to follow the well thought out mass marketing efforts that loyal customers are receiving on digital media. After sitting down I immediately noticed that the table was wet, which showed me that it had just recently been cleaned, which I appreciated. However, I would have been happier with a dry table. After taking our drink order, my wife and I received our sodas but our son's lemonade took quite a while to come to us. This really wasn't the waitresses fault since it was being prepared at the bar, but since we were one of the very few parties present at the time, I felt as though that his lemonade could have been made a tad faster. After ordering our meals, our salads were brought to us within 10 minutes, and they were delicious! After about another 10-15 minutes our pizzas arrived. I immediately noticed that my pizza's crust was huge!! The pizza portion was literally 2 bites per slice and then the crust was left. My wife then informed me that her and my son's pizzas had the wrong crust. After informing our waitress, she asked if my wife would be willing to wait to have them re-made (I was already half way through my pizza), and she said no, that it was fine. Once they had finished their pizzas, neither my wife or son wanted to eat the crust because it was too hard and bland. Then, after having the check brought to us, we realized that my wife's meal was listed as more expensive than mine, even though we ordered the same lunch special. My new go-to pizza joint with good vibes and grub. Let me preface this review with the fact that I showed up to this place skeptically due to my chronic review checking -- anything less than four stars on Yelp I tend to ignore. This was my third time to Old Chicago mostly because there's not many options in this area. Each time I've been here, regardless of the amount of patrons, I have waited over an hour for my food. Today we ordered burgers and we legit waited an hour and 20 minutes until someone finally came to let us know the kitchen messed up. The spicy pickles with sweet Thai sauce just that sentence alone made me cringe. NC has many places that serve fried pickles and they were so close to making it good. They came out hot and the spice on them was fairly good, but the Thai sauce was not a good mix. We had the lasagna with meat sauce which came with lean ground beef. This unfortunately had zero flavor, and the sauce tasted like it was from a can. We also got the regular pepperoni pizza. It was fairly edible the pepperoni tasted like a cheap cut of pepperoni, and the cheese was ok. Let me start with I love the decorations on the restaurant they got plenty of TV's to watch any football , basketball, or soccer game. And it's not too loud. The service was amazing I did forget our servers name but she was amazing telling jokes and checking on us very often. The food was pretty good the pizza was pretty greasy and a little bland, the boneless wings were decent size and very flavorful, the appetizer was amazing the Buffalo chicken rolls were definitely worth it the chicken tasted great the Buffalo sauce was just the right amount of spice and the roll itself was baked perfectly. Old Chicago is surrounded by a bunch of other food and shopping places. Parking can get a bit full when it's busy, but we end up just parking in one of the other parking lots close by. We have been to this location a few times and each time we've eaten here we've had awesome foodies and good service. We've eaten both inside and outside. The waitresses we've had, were nice and attentive each of the times we've gone. The wait time is pretty decent and we have found that we waited a bit longer when we sat outside (it was a bit busy the time we went). In spite of the reviews we decided to give this place a try. We're not likely to return. We ordered, a 6pc boneless wings as an appetizer, a large "Tavern Thin" pizza, and I ordered a beer. About 20 minutes after placing the order there was still no sign of the appetizer or beer when the waiter returned. He informed me they ran out of the beer on the menu "a while ago" and I opted for a mule instead. The mule was good enough but the glass must have been no bigger than 8oz and loaded with ice. It arrived just before the pizza, at which point I asked where the wings were. The waiter left and returned to inform me, "they forgot to make the wings." Guess we're just having pizza then. The pizza was a step above a frozen pizza. A 16" normally feeds the family, I'm not sure what their large was, but me and the wife left hungry, opting to let the kids eat. The sauce, cheese, and toppings fell nearly short enough to leave about an inch of crust, the corner pieces were literally just bread. On the way out I saw a buddy going to pickup a to go order, he announced he had never eaten there before either. When I saw him after the weekend, the first thing he said to me was, "bro, that pizza was not worth $30." I couldn't agree more. Pizza and Taps are in the name, yet they couldn't get either of those right during my visit, I hesitate to return to try anything else on the menu. read more

This used to be my favorite place to go for their Thai Pie thin crust pizza. Last week my husband and I went and it was the worst food I have ever seen come out of their kitchen. The thin crust was globby and thick, the ingredients on my Thai pie pizza were just dumped on and only a few items, but what was worse was they took the thai sauce and just dumped it on the pizza so that there was at least 1/2 cup of sauce sitting in the middle of my pizza.
