    Croquetas BACALAO, JAMON Y POLLO

I called in a order for 2dz BACALAO croquets, dz chicken croquets and 1dz ham. Order was ready on arrival, Julio greeted us and made us feel like family. Definitely will be back !

I ordered 12 croquetas, quesitos and stuffed potatoes.

The last chance was given to old Cuban, this time I order 12 ham croquetas to go. We sat to eat the sandwich while waiting for it. Time passed and we still waiting. When we asked about: the lady didn't order them, neither charge for them even though she asked me twice how many I wanted. I want to give this people a Better rating but, they don't work hard for it. I prefer the weekends when the people are nice. Se les olvida que el cliente tiene la razón! So, I decided to go to the old Cuban in East Colonial.

Thought I was getting breaded Chicken... instead I was given breaded steak AND with ham and cheese on it....?

Was in the area and in the mood for Cuban food. We have been to the one on Alafaya and like it. I'm not sure if they are all connected or not. I think not. I hate to leave a not so great review but because the reviews are so important to me... I think it's important to let potential customers know to check your food here before leaving to make sure your order is what you expected. I ordered the breaded chicken with the black rice and black beans and plantains. I did not check the order, assuming that it was correct. I mean I've never gotten something "different" when ordering "breaded chicken" ‍. I wish I would have known that the way they served the "meat" was different than I've ever seen at any Cuban restaurant before. I say "meat" because when I got home and opened the container I realized that it actually was not chicken but steak. I have never personally had Cuban breaded chicken or steak with ham and cheese on top and ketchup I'm the middle of it. Not knocking it for those who like it but it would be nice if that detail is included in the menu so that you can have the option to order without. Needless to say I just couldn't stomach it.

I drove about 45 minutes to eat this food, so was really bummed that the food was so disappointing. My pollo Milanesa was poorly packaged in a too small styrofoam box, and was over cooked and fairly certain that the tomato sauce used was just ketchup. I'm be been wanting to try their place for years, but oh well, just another Cuban place putting out really low quality food.

I'd genuinely like to go back for breakfast as I get a great breakfast cafe vibe from the place! Tonight, however, I could do with or without. We were greeted with a non-verbal scolding (grunting/gesturing) for walking on a dry but freshly mopped floor. I get it so I moved on. The chicken fillet in garlic was tender and juicy and the sides were fantastic. Unfortunately the Cuban sandwich authentic was quite lackluster as the hearty portion of pork was extremely dry and made the rest of the sandwich hard to chew and swallow. I've had better Cuban sandwiches at non-Cuban sandwich joints and fast casual establishments. Lastly the Quattro Leche cake lacked flavor. It seemed like eating a bowl of cool whip with a few cake crumbs here and there. It almost looked like it was pre-portioned and store bought. I really wish I had lower expectations because I really enjoy Cuban cuisine ! I'd come back for breakfast and coffee but that's about it.

I really enjoyed this place. The portions were very generous. I was happy to see that the bakery side of this establishment had lots of pastries and sweet treats. I had yellow rice beef and red beans with a side of maduros (sweet plantains)

I had been here before several years ago and didn't really care for the food here but when I heard that they changed management and changed the layout of the restaurant as well as the food, I decided to come back and give it a try. Breakfast was amazing, simple ingredients, fast service. I came in at 8:30am on Saturday and almost every single table was filled, so apparently the word has gotten out that they make awesome food here to the point where people will actually get up early on Saturday to eat here! The best deal you can get is the two eggs, cuban bread, choice of ham, sausage, or bacon, and french fries (I skipped the fries) You get all that for $3.99 so yeah; there's really no reason why not to give it a try.

Two stars for a Cuban quick service restaurant. Practically no service, since you have to flag down a waitress to get a refill, the check, dessert... anything. And there was barely anyone there! They do not keep the tables clean and the bathroom's cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. On the contrast, the sandwiches are very good. I had a ham and cheese on Cuban bread, my dad had a pastrami sandwich, and my mom had the chicken on a bun. All three were delicious and enough for two people. I wish they hired another's person so they could keep up with the little customers they have

This is the new location of the old Cuban cafe. Just like the original the food is very authentic and the portions are very generous. The new location has plenty of parking covered and uncovered. The service is fast and friendly just like the the original location. The coffee bar is has an abundance to offer that goes well with a cortadito or cafe Americans. There are plenty of seating indoors or out weather permitting. There are other Latin restaurants located on old gas stations, this one is Cuban cuisine the others are Puerto Rican. Of you have a urge for a Cuban sandwich or Cuban cuisine, head down to this location or the original location on Goldenrod and Colonial Blvd.

But I had an urge to find some fried chicken that is lightly battered and this place hit the spot. Located just off of Park Avenue and Fairbanks is The Hen & Hog. Got a 6 piece fried chicken anf a few sides which consisted of mac and cheese, fries and a pickled slaw. Juicy freshly fried and ever so gently battered chicken that was crisp with every bite. Definitely some tasty chicken. I really liked the slaw that had garlic onions celery and some other items but it cut through the savoriness of the chicken. Yes, i ate all of it to the bone. Wife also got chicken and waffles which she thoroughly enjoyed. Also had fried banana peppers with a pimento spread. Pretty nice combination. Staff was super helpful. They also have wings with a lot of great sauces to try. That will be my order for next time. Cant wait to come back.

I liked the t beers (white meat) the best. Melting the mouth breast with crunchy exterior. My chicken and waffles did not really hit the spot for me. The waffle was fluffy inside and just a tad burnt outside. FYI: the syrup is kinda spicy. Pleasant interior with friendly and attentive service.

At Roses, this theory stands validated. Returning after a hiatus of over five years, and with the space having transformed from its previous incarnation, I found myself pleasantly surprised. The coffee was impeccable -- rich, balanced, and expertly prepared -- a true marker of a café that understands its craft.
