My husband told me about some smaller bunnies he'd seen in there a few weeks ago. As I own a few New Zealand Bucks. Personally my trip in today was for a live feeder rat for my 6 year old ball python. Needless to say I saw two little bunnies behind a little girl who was sitting on a bench who actually wasnt even aware they were behind her because I asked were they hers and she said no. So then I asked the young lady at the counter could the bunnies be held or pet and she said yes. Soon as I go to pick up a bunny another lady who 1. Fails to even identify whom she is states Oh no you cant hold it, but you can pet it. So let me get this straight as a potential customer I cant hold an animal I'm potentially interested in?? So how many people go to buy a car and just purchase it right off the lot, no test drive? I'll wait... My point is every time I come into Pet Paradise I'm being told oh you can pet the bunnies or the ferrets but you cant hold them. Mind you I've seen "others," allowed to do just that. I've owned every animal mentioned previously in my 40+ years but it appears only certain people have the privilege here to actually interact with potential furbabies. Whelp they say word of mouth is the best form of marketing so figured I'd put the word out because it's a reoccurring theme I'm quite tired of and figured I'd let folks know about the fickle behavior of oh peep this the supposed manager who "Can Do what she wants," as I was told by the young lady behind the counter. Now last I checked a manager wasnt the owner but hey what do I know? I just need to find a better pet store with similar or BETTER options closer to me in Suffolk. Nobody buys cars without test driving, nobody adopts a dog without interacting, so why am I limited to petting a rabbit only and not holding it, but told oh you can hold it if your intentions is to buy one by the young lady behind the counter.. whew I could say so much but trust me I dont think I have to.

Before entering the cat area, a friendly worker had us sign electronic waivers. There were plenty of places to sit and toys to play with the cats from Heritage. I will say it wasn't my favorite cat room, however, as it didn't feel ventilated at all and it smelled strongly. I think perhaps if they add some air flow or clean the litter boxes more often that could help. The cats themselves were cute and I was very tempted to adopt Loodles, specifically! Precious girl. Once I was finished in the cat area, I stepped back into the shop and browsed. I saw a cute treat dispenser, so I purchased that along with a catit fountain. I haven't tried the fountain yet, but I did notice that it was $8 cheaper than I paid at other retailers, so that was pretty disappointing. I'm just chalking it up to supporting a small business. Hopefully the cats like it, as they ignored the last fountain I purchased! My orange does love the treat dispenser and has largely figured it out, so that's been a success. They also had some cute toys, and I bought a little birthday cake toy that I gave to one of my cats on his birthday about a week back. He's still playing with it, so that's a good sign! Overall, I think this is a great space that could be excellent with a few tweaks. I appreciate what they do to help pets.

Be wary of one lady in there too that they hired, idk what her name is but she certainly has a discriminatory view on properly bred dogs which irritated me, basically blaming proper breeders for the issues in shelters instead of backyard breeders and ignoring the fact that pitbulls cause over 60% of fatalities every single year calling "German shepherds more dangerous than pitbulls" just because of the bite psi.. they are third on the listen karen, get it right, if ur gonna argue about something like that and be in the shelter business maybe you should properly research facts like that instead of spreading misinformation through your "agree to disagree" idiocy. It's sucks cuz I like this place to peak in like twice a year and see if they have anything new and cool for my dog to try out but instead I'm met with pitbull apologists not once but twice now. She insisted on clipping his claws, which I fully objected. I wish the owner had a better attitude and was nicer to those who are not dressed to the 9's. My money is just as good as anyone else's. Lady, just because I am wearing jeans and a t shirt does not mean I don't have a well paying job. Learn some customer service skills.

This is such a cute and unique pet store located on the main street of Smithfield. They have some really nice pet supplies inside such as collars, leashes, attire, treats, food, toys and much more. The staff (I think the time I was there it was actually the owners) were very nice and allowed us to browse around at length without really bothering us. The stuff in here isn't really cheap, but you can tell some of it is one-of-a-kind, great quality stuff. This is a great place to stop in and shop if you are visiting Smithfield.

It's expected and well received. My dogs got treats out of it. Yes, you get to bring your dogs! I like the vendors that bring homemade natural treats to sell. We spent $20 on treats for the doggies. They were loving life in the car. The puppies were spent not too long when we got home. That's a sign that they certainly had a great time. I love pet expos like this!
