Excellent food and service. Very fresh tasting food, and the margarita was well crafted.

Ridiculous up charge of cheese dip. Cost of a meal.

$12 cheese bowl. Says 4.50 on the menu. Waitress asked if we wanted the large bowl. Apparently that is 3x more. Food okay. Atmosphere okay. Service okay. Not interested in ever going back

It's beautiful inside, the servers and staff are attentive and helpful, and the food is always very good. For example, my client ordered the Blackened Shrimp Alfredo and the shrimp were carefully placed to be standing up in a circle which was so much more attractive than if they were simply laying in the pasta and sauce. I also appreciate the convenient location off of 475 and the large parking lot.

Shockingly bad experience last night, especially after my numerous visits to Mancy's restaurants…read more We asked for a wine list which took over 10 minutes to receive. I was disappointed in the lack of European wines but found an Italian on the last bottle list. It was $150 but I was desperate. Unfortunately, our server didn't come back for 15 min to take our order and then when she finally delivered it, she broke the cork because she didn't screw down far enough. Alcohol is a big money maker yet we sat for 40 minutes before it was poured. The food was the main problem. Not only a super slow kitchen but it was then served refrigerator cold. Everything. Fish, steak, green beans, baked potatoes, mashed potatoes, even the plate was frigid. So we sent it back and instead of preparing a new plate, they tried to just warm it and brought it back cold..again. This was a $75 plate of food. At this point, we were concerned about food safety and said to just forget it. Luckily we had bread with our wine but they never offered anything else other than not charging us for the food which we didn't even touch. This was two hours after our arrival so went home hungry after paying for the wine. To top it off, there was a loud, raging fight in the bar area that we heard across the restaurant so we waited until they had left, concerned about a physical altercation. 4 to 5 stars for the quality of the food, the atmosphere, and the service. 4 stars overall…read morebecause...FCB is overpriced. I don't usually factor cost into my ratings. After all, the prices are marked on the menu and nobody is forcing me to eat there...but, when it's in my face... 25 bucks for 2 links of Andoulli with a, fairly large, "shot glass" of coleslaw and another, smaller, shot glass of pickled onions, and, a tablespoon of brown mustard. I saw the price but I still ordered it. After dinner my wife was laughing her ass off: "That anduoilli could have been from Kroger, you know?" I'm sure she was right. If the sausage was homemade, I'll issue a retraction...and eat my hat. That said it tasted great. For 15 bucks, it would have been a good deal. 90 bucks for a dozen oysters and a few prawns, AND 5 tasty scallops. We saw the prices but still ordered it. The oysters and sauces were excellent, so were the scallops. But that ain't "market price." The beignets for dessert were more than ok. Almost, but not quite there. The atmosphere of the establishment, including the patio, is top notch. I like the look and the feel. The service was also great. The waitress was friendly, knowledgeable, and took great care of us. Drinks: I've been drinking a lot less as of late (I like being cut more than I like being buzzed), but last night, I did have an excellent cocktail, or two. In this category, FCB gives you what you pay for! Overall, Farnsworth Cocktail Bar is an excellent establishment. Them prices tho...

We have been turned away when trying to pop in due to no availability. So dinner must be great!

This was my second visit to The Standard, this time for an early Holiday meal. We had reservations…read morefor two and were promptly seated in a booth as requested. I hadn't realized before that there is a large room to the right of the bar area. We were there for a somewhat early dinner at 6pm on a Saturday and the place was bustling! Definitely make a reservation. (I used Open Table online two or three weeks in advance and it was very easy.) We were greeted shortly after being seated and our server advised us of the special entrees after taking our drink orders. We decided to split the roasted beet salad which also came with herbed goat cheese. Our server brought the salad on two plates- already divided. The salad was absolutely amazing!! I am seriously still craving it and the portion was so large that I couldn't even finish my half. Our server promptly boxed it up before our entrees were served. For the main course, I ordered one of the specials- scallops with rice sauteed with spinach. My friend had pork roast with carrots, which was a large portion - no complaints and she took home leftovers for another meal. I'll speak to my scallops... They were perfectly prepared, but there were only three scallops and a plentiful serving of rice and spinach. I love spinach and this side was very well seasoned. It didn't take long to eat the three scallops and the spinach pieces in the rice. I definitely enjoyed my meal, but wished for even one more scallop. Since my entree was a special that was verbally announced, I didn't know the price until I saw the bill. While it was delicious, I found the $41 charge a bit steep. The Standard is exceptional in almost every way- service was impeccable, amazing food, lovely ambiance- but be prepared for a pricey evening. My friend and I had a very enjoyable time and I definitely recommend this restaurant. I will say, however, that it can be difficult to talk because it is so busy. That said, it's popular for a reason! Check out the photos below for a virtual experience.

I kind of thought the nicer tables would have been saved for folks that made reservations. The waitress took forever to take our drink orders. It took forever to get the drinks. We ordered our meals when the drinks came so we could try to get ahead of the curve. The soup/salads came and before we could finish, the main courses started coming out. This really upsets me. Take forever to take our orders and then rush us out the door. Dinner rolls are available, but one has to ask for them. It's in very small print on the menu. Why the server can't ask if the diners would like bread is B.S. I know their method saves them money, but I think they could change their practice and still keep the lights on. The prime rib was tough and not very flavorful this time. The server didn't bus any of the salad or soup dishes, so the table was an overly crowded mess by the end. Seriously, to have to keep your side towards the middle of the table is just a P.I.T.A. Not sure how much potato fell off of my fork on its way to my face. The price for dinner this time was $107.00 for the same meal we had back in November. That does not include the tip. In the end, not worth it in any way.
