While venturing out in Evansville, we happened upon Poke River and decided to give it a try. There's ample parking. The interior is spacious and clean with ample seating. We were greeted by one of their staff who was also taking orders at the counter. The food offerings were ramen, udon, poke bowls, and sushi. The sushi chef was on the opposite end of the counter and rolling sushi. Being accustomed to cubed raw fish that is flavored for poke bowls, the spicy poke options appeared to be ground up fish which I guess is a mainland thing at some restaurants. I ended up ordering beef ramen. The order was brought to our table and dug into it. The broth was flavorful and not overly salty. The noodles were Al dente and there were a few pieces of tender beef along with bamboo shoots and half a hard boiled egg. The meal was tasty and filling. As it was approaching lunch time, other customers entered the restaurant. We found the staff to be quite friendly and polite and experienced good service by the waitress who brought our order out to us. The food was quite good and filled my appetite. I'd return to Poke River and would likely try some of their sushi. Highly recommended. read more

If you order a sushi burrito you get to pick everything you'd like on it, like you would at a Subway. It's a nice touch to be able to watch your food get made, I've always liked that personally.
