We went for hotdogs and boy this place did not let me down. The hot dogs were good and all five of us tried different toppings... they were delicious. The bartender was hilarious. She was so busy and still took care of us like we were locals she served every day. We all bought sweatshirts and will be returning all summer long! On the Keansburg Amusement Park Boardwalk and also accessible from the street is a "shore gem" that has been here for decades. The grilled hot dogs they have been slinging here forever are hands down some of the best in the state. The toppings are fresh and it is great to have a couple of dogs and a cold beer during the spring/summer season. Service is friendly and fast. Never had an issue before and they are usually busy. The bar and interior is super casual and a throwback style to the neighborhood watering hole. Everything just jives. My recommendation is a Hot Dog with Mustard Sauerkraut and Raw Onion and a cold beer of choice. Money well spent! read more

Hotdogs are tasty and snappy with a pretty nice chili, but I would say that the french fries are the star. They're fresh, house-made and delicious. Similar to Nathan's but their own thing. Best hot dog in the bay shore area! This place is a Keansburg institution and I'm glad it's been resurrect. They have a proprietary hot dog and I think it's great. Normally I like a griddle dog with mustard and Kraut however this time I tried the chili and boy it's good too! Friendly workers plenty of seating and a fair price this place has everything! Keep in mind it's a dive but it's clean comfortable and nostalgic. Grab a beer and a dog and scope the place out. I used to come here when my kids were little. It didn't seem that SS Sandy destroyed the building. too much. The bespectacled gentleman and his pretty blond wife are long retired owners who were the sweetest couple to deal with on the Keansburg Boardwalk. The place was packed and the service was obviously slow. I had to get one of their famous hot dogs cuz it's been that long. They soak their dogs in beer and grill them. A few of them did the trick. Their franks are quite large for $3.25. Prices on the board seemed reasonable considering the venue. The beers on tap were varied but not of the craft persuasion. As far as their menu is concerned they have a variety of quick uncomplicated beach food. It appeared that the summer help was not that experienced & the owner intervened quite often. read more

Very cozy place along the keansburg boardwalk with a full bar with seating and tables parallel. Basically its a bar and grill. Rices are fairly reasonable and the Happy hour is 4pm-6pm with $2 yuengling pints. Also $7 aangria and frozen drinks. A very good deal of $3.50 for fresh cut fries(which are delicious), $3.25 for a big "heidelberg" frankfurter (tastes good, not as great as I anticipated).Cook should wear plastic gloves when handling the food though. Nice servers, great potato fries, very nice and clean decor. Get the cook to put on gloves and you get another star. Giving Hi fives to people walking buy then touching raw food isn't cool. read more

My buddy and I have been planning to get back to this place since it reopened a few months ago. I'm sorry we waited so long. We ordered three hot dogs, mine with mustard, kraut and hot relish, my buddy had one with chili. We also ordered an order of fries and two beers. The people that were working there were very friendly and service was great. The atmosphere is ,well a work in progress but very clean and there are plenty of seats. Now for the food, my buddy John and I have been starting our summer riding season eating hot dogs at the Heidelberg for years so we had to try the dogs and they did not disappoint. They are a natural casing dog cooked on a flat top until they split and they are good. The fries were crinkle cut but to me, just ok, not bad by any stretch but not great. The beer, the beer was cold and they have a great selection. It's too bad that they don't have heat and will be closing once it gets really cold so anyone interested better get going. Oh, and to the woman that served us and wouldn't tell me where they get their hot dogs, I found out but don't worry, your secret's safe with me. I heard a lot about this place so I went today. The food was just ok. The hot dog had a lighter fluid taste (not sure why because they're cooked on a flat top) but the toppings were good, especially the spicy relish. The music was loud and so was the game. All in all, I'm not impressed. read more

I usually go to this place when I'm down here and love the food and cold beer. I stopped by last Saturday night and I really wish I didn't . First off they snotty lady looked at me like I had 3 heads and gave me attitude when I asked for a pitcher of beer at the bar even though I was there 3 times in the past week and ordered the same thing without anyone batting an eye. They gave us our fries 10 minutes after our dogs (which they always do) which is stupid and annoying. I got the bill and it was $56 for 4 dogs at 4 bucks a piece(the girl said the dogs are $3.90 apiece) 3 fries at $3.50 apiece a $9 pitcher and a soda plus tax and I gave an undeserved $9 tip you do the math I know It's the boardwalk but still should of been less by about at least 10 bucks . I guess they jack it up on the weekends without telling you. We don't care if you come back We're on the Boardwalk and don't need your business. read more
