I've been here a few times, always have had a great time and a great experience. The food is good and the staff is super attentive. I'm only here updating because we were told that there is new management. This new management is changing the way they order draft beers. Instead of full sized kegs only order half sized. The important thing to note about this place is that most people go for the vibe. It's an old converted church and looks very cool with outdoor seating which is always a must for me in the spring/summer. The drinks and even the food is very pricey ($$$) for a family restaurant. The food itself is only ok however it's always consistent. It is the type of place you go to when you are just in the area and not feeling picky. Nothing will wow you but you are not necessarily disappointed. Its basic. Menu is mostly wings and pizza which are probably the most tasty items. There's also a lot of seafood but again I haven't been blown away from those. Service was good enough. I stopped by on Saturday with my fiancé before the dinner rush. We were seated right away. Our server was friendly and attentive. We shared the Texas BBQ wings. I really enjoyed them. It's high school football season and since our daughter was in town cheering, Hubby and I decided to give this spot a try. Great shore vibes with the outside bar and live music. When we got there we were the only ones at the bar which was great! Even though it got busy quick our bartender was pretty good, quick with our drinks and order. So we were fairly regular customers when Old Glory first opened and we would get to go orders throughout COVID. We truly feel like supporting local businesses is important. We have tried Old Glory randomly during the past few years and it has been very disappointing. The service has not been very consistent. We have had to wait for a server to come and acknowledge us at the table. We haven't been offered refills on drinks. The restaurant wasn't very busy either. The food hasn't been the problem. On a Saturday afternoon, I was in the Keyport area and in the mood for a burger. So, my girlfriend and I stopped by this place as the menu and photos online looked great. It was a nice day, and I liked that they had both indoor and outdoor seating. It was pretty crowded outdoors, so we decided to sit at a table inside. I ordered a beer to begin, and my girlfriend tried their iced tea. The draft beer was nice and cold and hit the spot. She enjoyed their iced tea quite a bit. After a while, we ordered some burgers as our meals. I went with the Big Lou Burger, and she went with the Americana Burger. The burgers were very tasty, nice and juicy, and cooked perfectly. I especially enjoyed the toppings on mine, as they blended well with everything. The fries were nice and crispy and seasoned well. They gave you a large portion for the price. ***3 1/2 stars*** I always want to really like Old Glory, but it never quite meets expectations. This was my third or fourth visit, and like every other time, I left just a little unsatisfied. This establishment is conveniently located a block or two off the main drag in Keyport, within easy walking distance of the Millennial Chum. It has a lengthy, pretty solid American menu, so even if you're going with a group of people with varying tastes, it's not difficult to find an option for everyone. I stopped by here for an early lunch this past Saturday with three chums and a pooch. Old Glory is very obviously housed in a converted church, which is a cool vibe - very high ceilings, lots of arched doorways, etc. It was a pretty nice afternoon (and again, we were carting around a canine companion so we didn't get much of an opportunity to ogle the interior design beyond a quick bathroom visit) and we opted for the outdoor seating, which was pleasant. There's a bar out there that I imagine can get pretty rollicking in the summer months. Everyone was famished from recent adventures, so we ordered the Coconut Shrimp app ($16) to split, which was a definite highlight. It wasn't overly cooked, and the chili dipping sauce paired very well with the shrimp. From prior experience as well, this place has pretty solid bar food so it wouldn't be ridiculous to exclusively focus on that in the future. I also surprisingly enjoyed my cocktail, which was a Spiked John Daly ($12). I hemmed and hawed a great deal before ordering because nothing in that section of the menu really stood out to me, but based on the description it sounded like it would at the very least be refreshing, which it was. I've had one or two cocktails here before and was pretty underwhelmed - from what I recall, they were light pours that didn't even put a bit of a rosy hue on the cheeks and too sweet so all I got for my trouble was a sugar crash an hour later - but this was the best I'd had. Your mileage on this may vary, but I would have liked an actual glass to drink this in, not a cheap plastic cup, but we ARE approaching Jersey Shore season. I'd just rather not have images of sunburned GTL bros dancing in my head whilst drinking a cocktail in April, but again, that's preference and I didn't take any points off for that. For my entrée, I went with the Cajun Catfish ($22), which was okay. I thought for the price the portion was pretty small and it was overly seasoned so you couldn't really appreciate the juiciness or natural flavor of the fish (though I don't know how much you REALLY want to complain about a Cajun dish tasting too Cajun). It was perfectly fine but I think in hindsight I'd look elsewhere on the main menu. The service was honestly pretty mediocre. Our waitress was friendly and demonstrated a solid command of the menu when I couldn't remember the name of the cocktail I wanted ("Spiked...a guy's name?"), but in the second half of our meal was difficult to track down. We had to wait a pretty significant period of time to get the check and then have her pick it back up for processing. We were also a bit disappointed because there was one specific dessert we were looking forward to (S'mores & Nutella skillet) that they didn't actually have the ingredients for. Coincidentally, the Millennial Chum and I ended up at the nearby Shoprite less than a mile away a few hours later, which had a prominent display of s'mores ingredients for sale right by the entrance, so it's hard not to wonder why Old Glory was seemingly unable to maintain an inventory for that particular dessert. Old Glory is just good enough where you'd come back, but not good enough where you'd go out of your way to. read more

Stopped here in-between jobs today and wow was the coconut shrimp amazing! We came in for a drink and to burn a half hour at the bar, and ended up staying for over an hour with two orders of coconut shrimp. The coconut shrimp is crunchy, fresh, moist and served with a smile on their face. Absolutely delicious and not too fried or too much flavor!! We were told that this restaurant use to be a church and from the looks of their high ceilings & wood working I wouldn't doubt it !!! I've been coming to Keyport for many years and in all that time, I've never tried this spot. Well, finally got here with my wife and son and let me tell you, we've been missing the boat. First thing that strikes you is the great ambiance this restaurant has. With great outdoor seating for the warm months and a striking patriotic decor with an upstairs and downstairs inside, this place makes quite the first impression. Well, to start the food festivities off, I had heard their brick oven roasted wings were great, so we went with a combo of the Fire Roasted Wings, dry rubbed and topped with caramelized onions, cherry peppers and grilled lemon and the Rosemary Parmesan Wings, parmesan crusted with a balsamic reduction. They were both delicious and lived up to the hype. We also went with some Brick Oven Roasted Clams, served in a flavorful broth, another great app. My only complaint would be for the price, there should have been some more. For our mains, my wife went with The Big Lou Sandwich, slow cooked short ribs, a burger, cheddar cheese, candied jalapeños, bacon, house made BBQ sauce and baby arugula. My wife thought this was OK, maybe a little too much meat on this for her. I had the Freedom Dip, thinly sliced NY strip steak, cheddar cheese, caramelized onions and aus jus served on a French Roll. I loved this, the meat was so tender and flavorful and dipping it in to the aus jus made this already great sandwich, even better. My son had the Fish & Chips, beer battered cod filets, lightly coated, tender and delicious, he definitely enjoyed it. To wrap up we finished with a wonderful Chocolate Lava Cake, served with ice cream and this dessert perfectly wrapped up a great dining experience. Have to mention the service we received from our waitress, Jessica, who was friendly, attentive and helped steer us to some great choices. *3.5 STARS* I went to Old Glory on a Saturday afternoon with a few friends and a pup post hike. (Please note, after speaking to the hostess- who was nothing but incredibly pleasant, in order to bring a dog, the dog must be a service dog.) Pros: large menu, aesthetically pleasing, & certain cocktails Cons: missing menu items & just average food Aesthetically, Old Glory has a really unique look, being in a converted church. They also offer outdoor seating and have an outdoor bar. (It was closed during our visit.) This is not my first time at Old Glory, but probably my first time in about a year, as I always found the service to be lacking previously. Previously, at one point when dining with my family and in-laws our waitress asked us "if we really wanted to order all of that?" So, I've stayed away. This visit, I did find the service to be better than my previous experiences. Our waitress was kind and prompt, although as the meal went on and we got our food, she was a little more difficult to track, and we had to get someone else to grab our check. (I feel it's important to note- it still wasn't too busy outside, but definitely busier than when we entered.) In terms of drinks, I got their speciality margarita. It was okay- I felt like the drink was primarily ice. I wouldn't rush to get it again. I wished it packed a little more or a punch. My friends enjoyed the espresso martini and spiked John Daly. In terms of food, Old Glory has a large, American food based menu. My friends split the coconut shrimp, which they all found to be the best part of the meal. I went for the mozzarella sticks and a side of sweet potato fries. The mozzarella sticks were just okay, a little cold and were pretty small to share as an appetizer. The cheese layered on top wasn't melted whatsoever. In comparison, the sweet potato fry portion was HUGE. The downside here is that they were COVERED in sugar- to the point where the fries had to be wiped off to an extent. We did want to order the s'mores dessert, but they were out of the ingredients, which we all found odd, as it's not too intricate of a dessert. Upon receiving our bill, I noticed we were charged for a second drink, that I ordered about twenty minutes prior, but never came out. I asked to have this drink taken off the bill, since I never received it. But, the waitress offered to make the drink now, which I appreciate the offer, but we were literally paying the bill, ready to leave. (Eventually, she did take it off.) Overall, Old Glory is okay. The aesthetic is pleasing. I'd recommend for some shared appetizers mainly. read more
