What an awesome find! The Owner was so kind to our 7yr old pouting daughter (don't even know why she was pouting). He worked to cheer her up and told us the story of his place and about the area. He even suggested a little farmers market around the corner that had the BEST Carmel Apples! I would come back just for that. The food was amazing. Ribs were perfectly tender but not mush. Little bit of bite and right off the bone. Great smoke and lots of flavor. $36 for a full rack of St.Louis ribs and it was huge. Deal! I will absolutely come back for Brisket some Friday. Great burgers! Love the deep fried corn on the cob! The deep fried asparagus is wonderful as well! Service is speedy and friendly!

Carryout order. First time visit. After reading about the Original 3 little pigs, 1/3 lb pulled pork, 1/3 lb ham, 1/3 lb bacon with one side, I had to try it. I didn't realize it was a sandwich...and huge. Very good! Bacon nice and crispy, even with bbq sauce. For the side, sassy slaw...wow, really spicy hot pepper...too spicy for me. As 2 of us were eating, I ordered the Chicago style roast beef, with saute onions and melted cheese. This probably would have been excellent if eaten at restaurant, but the roll got too soggy on the way home. For this side tried the baked beans. Definitely not canned, good taste. They have a sign on front door that warns menu prices are cash, and there will be a 3.9% increase for credit card payments...fare enough, common practice for some Newaygo area restaurants. Stopped here on a whim. The decor is really cool in here, and the service good. The food is great! I regularly get pork nachos, and these were hands down the best I've had! I had a friend suggest this place for good BBQ. When I pulled up I thought uhhhhh..... went inside. It was comfortable and relaxed. I ordered a meal that included pulled pork, smoked ham, and smoked bacon. It was piled high! Had Fresh cut fries and baked beans as sides. It was absolutely delicious!! Very reasonably priced too! I had all this and a bottle of beer for 11 bucks!! Can't beat it! While it looks like a run down old biker bar on the outside, it won't disappoint. Check out this hidden little gem! Outstanding food. We went here on a recommendation and I am so glad I did. Almost missed it driving by, but smelled the smoker going right away. Walking in you think that it might be a little rough. Small town bar and it looks the part. No frills added but the decor fits. Old time items throughout the place. Just take a minute to look at the theme and you'll understand it. Felt right at home. The service was good. Very prompt and friendly. Now to the food. Started with onion rings of which I added a picture. Done just right and they were huge and very tasty. We both ordered the smoked pulled pork BBQ sandwich. You could smell the smoke aroma as soon as the plate hit the table. I added a touch more sauce than they had on there, which I thought was nice. Came with a little and you could always add more. If it came with to much, that's the way you'd have to eat it. My wife liked it the way it came. Nice cut fries with seasoning on them. I'll have to remember not to eat before passing through Grant again. I could only eat half my meal. I will stop here again for sure. read more

The BBQ sandwich was four stars, but the onion rings were over-cooked and tasteless. Also, the french fries were average. It took an hour and ten minutes to get two BBQ sandwiches an order of French fries and an order of onion rings even though the restaurant was never more than half full. Ive driven by many times and finally decided to stop in. Wow! Im really glad I did! When i first walked in I was greeted by a really nice and tentative waitress that explained the menu quick and thorough. I decided to go with a baseline, well known taste..I got the pulled pork sandwich with a side of homemade baked beans. The beans were in my opinion PERFECT! The flavor was outstanding with a subtle kick that really goes well with them. Even my wife who isnt a fan of spicy ate half of them. The pulled pork sandwich was a home run! A huge mound of meat on a nice big bun. The meat was nice and juicy with a great smoky flavor. The only downside to the sandwich was the anount of bbq sauce on it. I would definitely recommend getting a side of their housemade bbq sauces to go along. I will be sampling those next time. Overall this was a 4.5/5 and i was really impressed! My girlfriend and I decided on a wym last night to go to Old Iron Bar and Grill in Grant for dinner. We figured it might be busy on a Saturday night but here's the sad part, it wasn't. Which is a shame because this place is amazing. First off if you have country in your soul then this is the place for you. If you don't like country but enjoy unique and good food well this is still the place for you. The food was very tasteful and very decently priced. Everything was handmade and local, nothing was frozen. My GF had a rack of ribs that had been smoked all day with fried sweet corn. I had boneless beer batter fried chicken with unique flavors like blueberry bourbon bbq and cherry garlic glaze with handcut fries. It was AMAZING, everything was. I don't have one complaint about this place. If you are passing through Grant I seriously implore you to stop at the Old Iron Bar and Grill because they have a very unique menu and it is a fantastic dining experience. It's right across from the Wesco gas station in Grant and you will not be disappointed! read more

This was our second time here. The first time we were there I wasn't impressed, but thought we would give it another shot. The onion rings were good. The wife and I had an assortment of their tacos. I didn't care for any of them. Meat, cheese, and lettuce and they all tasted the same. I hate to say this but they all tasted terrible. I couldn't finish any of them. Ridiculously huge hand dipped corn dog - it was awesome! Husband had the italian beef - great flavor! Sides: baked beans were sweet and spicy and oddly unique but we just couldn't stick with it ; french fries were a bit too greasy and over fried but otherwise good. Stopped here on a motorcycle trip around Lake Michigan with two friends. The giant smoker parked out front drifting the smell of smoked meat is what made us stop. Had the sausage and brisket platter smoked to perfection. Great food and PBR on tap what else can you ask for? The owner Mike came over to us and introduced himself with a sample of brisket for us on a platter. He was very hospitable and gave us a few tips and places it stop on our trip into and around the U.P. Some friends of mine turned me on to old iron a couple years ago and I have been hooked ever since. Mike and Pam do an amazing job with the BBQ and all the fresh homemade sides. I never thought that anyone could turn that dumpy old bar into an amazing restaurant with such a comfortable, welcoming feel. We decided to use them for catering for our wedding. The only word that comes to mind to describe it is AMAZING! Every person there left full and with a smile on their face! I got compliment after compliment about the food. It was awesome having Pams smiling face and chipper personality around to help. She did everything she could to make sure my wife and I had an awesome day! I am very, very grateful for everything they did for us. The only suggestion I have for guests is to bring your appetite! They are not shy with portions or quality.
