4/24/2026: My review should not have any stars since I can't honestly provide a review of their product, their ambiance.. my 3rd time trying to patronize Old Isabella Coffee and I've officially "struck out". After driving in to town from Los Angeles, I told my husband I wanted to grab a couple of coffees before going to his office, but I wanted to support a small shop instead of going in the the grocery store where they have a coffee chain kiosk inside. I believe in supporting small business! We had tried to visit Old Isabella Coffee twice before, but it was later in the afternoon and they were closed. I decided to give them a pass and try again since it's earlier. But today, we arrived before 1pm and parked. I went up the stairs to their entry door and it seemed very dark inside. The door was locked, and only then did I realize the blinds were closed. I checked the posted hours and they close at 1pm daily, but apparently they closed early on this day. A Friday, in a town that often leans on "weekenders" for increased business volume. While looking for the posted hours I saw the very friendly sign which shows a revolver pointing forward so you can look down the barrel of the gun and they proudly announce that there's nothing inside worth dying for. How warm and inviting! Well I, for one, was really looking forward to an amazing coffee beverage "to die for".. but now I know this won't be my place locally. I've tried 3 times and found myself alone at their place of business. In retrospect, the 3 ladies at the Starbucks inside the Vons store had a LINE of people waiting to buy coffee, snacks and lunch. As I joined the line, I casually said "I guess this is the place for great coffees in town!" and two of the guys in line said "they're reliably open, the service is great and have decent hours during the day". They were wearing yellow vests, maybe guys working on the street improvements or employees from SCE? If i owned a small business in a small town, i would definitely be pandering to just this type of customer. Extend operating hours, offer discounts to these contractors to bring them in daily! The guys said they're at Starbucks more than once a day, every day. That's a lot of opportunity lost to the little, local guy. So while I'm not usually a Starbucks person, when in KRV apparently they will be my go-to from now on. I tried to support local, but wasn't getting the support in return. read more

Old Isabella Coffee - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Lake Isabella, California

Greeted by this disgusting, aggressive sign (pictured) right in the front window of this "Christian" coffee shop as you walk up the stairs. I asked the woman inside what the sign was about. She said someone tried to break in, the last owners put that sign up, and they didn't take it down. I told her it's pretty off-putting. She didn't respond. I asked if she was the new owner, she said yes. Not friendly at all, even before asking about the sign. I don't recall even a "hello" upon entering. Told her I had never been before so I needed a minute. No "take your time", "let me know if you need recommendations", just uncomfortable silence. I decided this was definitely NOT a business worth my money, told the woman to have a nice day, and began to leave. She didn't respond, no "you too". Nothing. I looked back and said "no have a nice day?" No response. Unfriendly. Aggressive, violent signage. Their Insta caption is "Christ first, coffee second". Would recommend changing to "Murder first, Christ when it's convenient, coffee if you can overlook our hypocrisy" for more accurate advertising lol read more

Went to this little coffee stand which is always here during event weekends such as Tri-County Fair, Mule Days, etc located in the Bishop Park. Their coffee is to die for and they have a specific secret recipe ice coffee called a Dirty Rootbeer which is a shot of espresso with cream shaken with their secret syrup and ice. This drink is AMAZING. Taste like rootbeer with a hint of coffee. 10/10 with they had an actual store. Maybe one day! read more

I read a review they didn't answer the phone and often were not open during their stated business hours. Tried to call before making the 19 minute drive there. No answer. Turns out that they do not have the correct information on file! You have to go in to get their actual number (not the best thing) but the drinks are great and they have fresh baked pastries. Some customers have pretty colorful language but it adds a spark of fun to your morning haha! read more

Coffee Shop No. 440 Old Isabella Coffee Company Lake Isabella, CA October 15, 2024 Old Isabella Coffee Company, is a lovely, clean, and inviting coffee shop in a small mountain town. I had already taken my family to six shops in the last 24 hours. I am pretty sure everyone had surpassed their caffeine limits, except for me of course. Something told me to press on and to drag the family with me. We ended up having a fabulous time at the shop. The owner is a young, smart, and friendly woman. She crafted an exceptional cortado. The shop is small with very little indoor seating, but my son found a comfortable spot out on a porch in front. As we walked out of the shop my Mom summed it up perfectly, "What a wonderful shop. I wish I had a place like this near my house. I'd come every day." Enjoying life one cortado at a time! read more

Been a couple times, good coffee and lattes, if you can catch them. They don't answer the phone, respond on social media or stay open during their posted hours. Would love to support but the lack of communication and consistency keeps me away unfortunately. For a while I thought they were closed permanently but they recently posted on social media and when I reached out to clarify their hours, they didn't respond. Hopefully you have a different experience. If they ever acknowledge this review and start to stay open during their posted hours I'll be happy to update this review and start supporting this establishment again. Until then I won't waste my time like I did several times in the past when they were not open during their posted hours with no signage stating otherwise. read more

New in town. Was looking for a code place other than Starbucks and so glad I found them. Espresso and iced coffee is so good. Their coffee beans smell delicious. Service was good as well, very professional and helpful. Didn't disappoint. Will be coming back. read more

New owners are fantastic (former ones were too), friendly, and their coffee is the best in town! The "sugar free 178" and the cold brew are top notch. Decor is classic, everything is clean and tidy... and rumor has it they'll be opening a patio with wifi soon! read more

We love this little local coffee spot ! They are always super friendly and the coffee is always on point. I grew up going to the bucks and now I go here whenever I can instead. Their pastries are sooo good. This is where I go for coffee dates with my tiny human. They will make anything you can think of. They also have a chalkboard wall under the counter to keep the little ones occupied. Highly recommended. read more

If you've lived in the valley for a bit, and remember the old donut shop in the Vons plaza, they used to have this ham & cheese croissant that was to die for. Well The Old Isabella company makes them... but better! I did not think it was possible but it's true! I didn't get a chance to take a picture because I literally inhaled it, it was so good! I'm in here a lot . It's family owned and ran , they support lots of Organizations in the valley , the pastry's are spot on always . Coffee , smoothies (not my thang) and all other drinks . They make what you order and let's talk about affordable!!!! Every girl as well as male , always smile and make you feel at home . This is a very amazing coffee shop . It's in Isabella located pretty hiding but worth the find , parking sucks but they make up for that with the coffee as well attitude from every person working . read more

It's delicious, but foam to coffee ratio is a bit too high for my liking. The cup feels so light when they hand it to me. When I have the tilt the cup way back more than 45 degrees to get my first sip, I feel like I'm not getting a full portion of coffee. I wouldn't mind paying more to have the option to get an extra large. read more

YUMMIEST coffee and teas! A little bit hard to find, even if you're from the area, (you should get a HUGE SIGN!) but once you do, you'll be glad you did. They go above and beyond to fulfill all your special coffee/tea needs. I came up to Kern to visit and I think made my way in 3-4 times while I was there. Go check it out! read more
