    Blueberry Donut
    Peter M.

Blueberry Donut is one of the best donuts I've ever had and i travel a lot and have had a ton of donuts. Perfectly cooked and a fresh donut bought at 1am. Couldn't ask for more.

This is a sorry excuse of a ham and cheese croissant!

This is a joke of a ham and cheese croissant first off this is French bread and not a croissant at all...over priced at $3.50 for this measly amount of ham and cheese...it's All bread. Never again, they look so full and nope...pretty much empty.

It all depends on what you're looking for in a donut shop but because I travel all over the place one of the most important things to me is service because with few exceptions I have found that most donut shops make pretty decent Donuts but it's the service you receive when you there it is like the icing on the cake and I just realized his donut shop is called Crest Crest Donuts which means it's probably at the top or the crest of treatment. And that I can I testify to they made me feel more than comfortable and got me helped in on the road quickly

Plastic that was baked into the donut, extreme choking hazard! Don't recommend

Almost choked on a piece of plastic that was baked into their donut. Will not eat here again!!

    A dozen for $8.45...not bad!

I stopped by CD's to pick up a dozen donuts for a morning meeting. For a dozen, it was less than $9. They had run out of a couple types of donuts but definitely had enough options to choose from. I love old fashion donuts and thought the one from here was ok. The other glazed and long johns were definitely better. Light and fluffy.

Delicious donuts within walking distance of our hotel! Upon entry, one is overcome by an intoxicating aroma of fresh, sweet donuts. The union of sugar and dough is holy here. The selection is varied, but old standbys will not disappoint. Prices are low, and the donuts are most enjoyable. This place will be a definite stop for me should I have to pass through Ridgecrest again on business.

The sweet Asian woman behind the counter saw me struggling to find cash and said she would just give me the dozen donuts. I was shocked by her kindness and promised to come back with cash later in the day. She kept reassuring me that it was okay and that I didn't need to. When I came back a few hours later on my lunch break, she was surprised and tried not to take the extra tip I had given. She was just so genuinely sweet and kind and I would definitely come back to support her. Now, onto the donuts. I got a mixed dozen and immediately was hit by how delicious they smelled. I pulled out a twisted glazed donut and before I knew it, I had inhaled it. The donut was so light and fluffy with an actual crisp to the outside and the perfect amount of glaze on top. I think I actually like it more than Krispy Kreme and it was one of the freshest and most delicious donuts I've had in a while. My mouth is watering thinking of it now. Everyone at work loved the rest of the donuts from the mix. Come support Krispy Donuts! I know I'll be back when I'm in town next. :)

After driving in to town from Los Angeles, I told my husband I wanted to grab a couple of coffees before going to his office, but I wanted to support a small shop instead of going in the the grocery store where they have a coffee chain kiosk inside. I believe in supporting small business! We had tried to visit Old Isabella Coffee twice before, but it was later in the afternoon and they were closed. I decided to give them a pass and try again since it's earlier. But today, we arrived before 1pm and parked. I went up the stairs to their entry door and it seemed very dark inside. The door was locked, and only then did I realize the blinds were closed. I checked the posted hours and they close at 1pm daily, but apparently they closed early on this day. A Friday, in a town that often leans on "weekenders" for increased business volume. While looking for the posted hours I saw the very friendly sign which shows a revolver pointing forward so you can look down the barrel of the gun and they proudly announce that there's nothing inside worth dying for. How warm and inviting! Well I, for one, was really looking forward to an amazing coffee beverage "to die for".. but now I know this won't be my place locally. I've tried 3 times and found myself alone at their place of business. In retrospect, the 3 ladies at the Starbucks inside the Vons store had a LINE of people waiting to buy coffee, snacks and lunch. As I joined the line, I casually said "I guess this is the place for great coffees in town!" and two of the guys in line said "they're reliably open, the service is great and have decent hours during the day". They were wearing yellow vests, maybe guys working on the street improvements or employees from SCE? If i owned a small business in a small town, i would definitely be pandering to just this type of customer. Extend operating hours, offer discounts to these contractors to bring them in daily! The guys said they're at Starbucks more than once a day, every day. That's a lot of opportunity lost to the little, local guy. So while I'm not usually a Starbucks person, when in KRV apparently they will be my go-to from now on. I tried to support local, but wasn't getting the support in return.

Tuesday, March 10th, we traveled to Bakersfield to pick up a vehicle I had purchased, and of course had to stop by Kohnen's. My wife and I split a Tuna and Cheddar Panini, and a loaded Turkey (we arrived too late for Sourdough!!). It is difficult to walk away without a mini-pie (try them all, but blackberry is freaking amazing!!). As always, Danelle was there with her typical congeniality and work ethic! We love her!! And I got to tell her about her doppelgänger in a restaurant in Yucaipa!! They do exist!! In summary, eat at Kohnen's!! Say hi to Danelle!

I visited Kohnen's Bakery Tehachapi yesterday with my family, and this was honestly one of the…read moreworst customer service experiences I've ever had. I only purchased two items -- one cream puff and one slice of cheesecake -- but the cashier charged my card THREE times due to repeated mistakes. Here's exactly what happened: 1) My first card (Card A) was charged $11.20. The cashier asked me if I wanted a receipt, and I said yes. Then she told me the receipt didn't come out because the transaction "didn't go through," and asked me to provide my card again. 2) I gave the same card again, and this time she charged $11.69. 3) Then again, she told me that it didn't go through, so I used a different debit card (Card B), which was charged $11.20. While sitting at the table with my family, I immediately checked my bank account and thought I had only been charged twice. I spoke to a staff member at the store and requested a refund for one of the $11.20 charges, which was processed. However, today I realized I had actually been charged three times, meaning there was still another $11.20 that needed to be refunded. So I called the bakery and asked to speak with a manager. I spoke with someone named Danielle. I calmly explained the entire situation and told her I would send all my receipts and bank transaction records by email so they could double-check and confirm everything. She said ok and gave me their email address, but it was very long, and I was concerned about making a mistake while writing it down. So I politely asked if she could text me the email address instead. Her response was extremely rude -- she said, "I'm not required to do that," and told me to just write it down myself if I had a pen and paper. Although I was already uncomfortable with her attitude, I carefully wrote it down and sent the email. However, the email bounced back as invalid, even though I had confirmed the spelling with her multiple times over the phone. When I called again, Danielle answered and said, "Ma'am," in a very dismissive tone, and told me that they had found the three charges and had already processed refunds for both $11.20 transactions. I tried to confirm which card the refund was going to, since I used two different cards, but after putting me on hold for a long time, she read off a card number that was not mine. When I told her that wasn't my card, she insisted those were the only transactions for $11.20 yesterday and told me to "check my bank in a few days" and call back if the refund doesn't show up. And, she didn't apologize for the mistake, even though they charged my cards three times and wasted a significant amount of my time. Even yesterday, when I asked for an apology, I only received one reluctantly after I pointed out that they had made a mistake -- and even then, the response was dismissive, as if I should just accept it because they were "taking care of it." The attitude throughout this entire situation was rude, unprofessional, and extremely frustrating. The cheesecake was very good. But because of this experience, I would never come back. We drove all the way from Los Angeles to Tehachapi with my family, expecting a pleasant visit, but this bakery completely ruined the day. Being charged a total of $34.09 for just two small items due to repeated errors is unacceptable. If your staff cannot properly process payments, they should not be working as cashiers. Situations like this should never happen. What's even worse is that after making multiple mistakes, there was not a single sincere apology -- only attitude, dismissiveness, and instructions for me to keep checking my bank and call back again. My time is valuable. This entire situation could have been avoided if things were handled properly from the beginning. This was an extremely unpleasant experience, and I am very disappointed. Cf) For reference, the other $16.05 receipt is for bread that my brother purchased.
