Eek. I don't know about this place. They do not keep it clean and tidy, they have a sign up in Jan/Feb 2024 that says "happy Halloween", and they didn't have any boba the day we visited. A doughnut shop that leaves crumby, empty doughnut trays in the display case is showcasing their lack of awareness of cleanliness and quality. When a food place shows you they do not care, I don't have any trust in their health code compliance. I will say, the place has all the old school charm I like, with brightly colored booths, and a cool old sign on the building. I like places that don't try to look modern. I hope the owners can do better, otherwise I'll have no choice but to open my own donut/boba spot here in Ridgecrest. read more

I've been going to this donut shop for over a decade. Their service and quality is top notch! They are always friendly and always remember my favorites. They know I like their bao and donut holes with sprinkles. I definitely recommend the ham and cheese with jalapeno, or the tiger tails. There's a chocolate "bar" with chocolate inside and chocolate chips on top that is always sure to please. And their muffins are always so moist and delicious! Even though they have a B rating by the Heath department I'm over it because the donuts are good. They only take cash but unlike the other donut shop in town they actually have an atm inside. I've been a regular for almost 5 years. Their selection is best in the morning - Beautiful and tasty donuts, muffins are always in point, and their large chocolate chip with chocolate filling is always a amazing. I have a special place in my heart for their hot ham 'n cheese with jalapenos (warmed, of course!), and their hot steam buns with sausage and egg are lovely too. One of the best things about Crest Donuts is that it is open 24 hours. I keep odd waking hours so having a place to pop into for a snack is fantastic. We were greeted warmly, and then with all I can describe as great excitement, first by an employee and then by the man I think is the owner. He explained the different fillings as we browsed and was quick to bag up whatever we wanted. The donuts are amazingly fresh as well as beautiful in a way that can only be done by someone who loves what they do. The prices are amazing = .95 a single, $5 half a dozen. There was no upcharge for one of the larger donuts I got with my half dozen and this was a very pleasant surprise. Crest Donuts also has signs posted for breakfast sandwiches and a display of different flavoured drinks (possibly smoothies?). I'll be going back to explore the other food options as well as to try more donuts. read more

The doughnuts are good WHEN they actually have some. They only make doughnuts for the morning rush and then that's it. If you go after lunch time chances are they will be clean out or very close to it and still will not make more until the next morning. Why are they even a 24 hour shop anymore? I had fond memories of Crest Donuts when I lived in town as a kid. My first memory of ever eating a donut was at this place, and I remembered their maple bars in particular were quite good. So when I was back in town visiting relatives, we decided to make a quick stop here for a small bite that was hard to pass off as breakfast. I don't remember who was behind the counter in the past, but the kid who was working the counter has to be the most annoying salesperson I can remember in recent memory. It's one thing to jokingly ask us if we want a dozen, but to do so repeatedly when I'm with my elderly grandmother when all we want are a few donuts in peace gets incredibly irritating after a short period of time. That docks a good number of points right off the bat, as does the relatively poor condition of the outdoor seating - the building is solely occupied by Crest, but the outdoor picnic tables were pretty filthy, and the trash was overflowing to the point that crows were actively paying a visit while we ate outside. As for the donuts themselves - not expecting world-beating quality at 75-85 cents a pop, but I came away a bit disappointed. The maple bars were already gone, so I went with a maple French crueller instead - good flavoring (and a much better glaze than the glazed donut), but it was a bit too moist. As for the glazed donut - one of the plainest glazed donuts I can remember eating. The donut itself was in the no-man's land of not being dense enough yet not being too airy, and the glaze itself was barely there. It was like eating a plain donut, which is just not that inspiring to do. While it was a cheap pit stop, the poor service and conditions, as well as what turned out to be a bit lackluster quality, means that the first time I've been to Crest in well over 20 years is likely going to be the last time I show up again in the foreseeable future. read more

I tried this place twice now, and their donuts are not the freshest in the world probably because they are open 24 hours. They also only accept cash, which sucks.
