Carlos' donuts is the one place that I go to for my donuts for home gatherings and for work. The have a large variety of donuts and also if you get there early enough they have burritos a couple or to choose from. Service is great and friendly if you're lucky you might be able to see and say hi to Carlos himself. If he's not in the back making more stock. I come here once a month typically, normally I'm pretty happy with the service and price but today was a bit different. The lady helping me and my 6 year old daughter was extremely rude and was too busy talking to her coworker instead of paying attention to me and my daughter at all while ordering. I decided on the donuts I was ordering and ordered a burrito as well which was told would come with salsa, the rude woman helping me forgot the salsa so just icing in the cake. I hate to say but 1/5 stars being the attitude the woman helping me had and the price of the burrito has gone up from 5.60 this time last year to 9.80 now. read more

In Tehachapi for the day and was craving a donut, so I hit the old Yelp machine and this spot had very high ratings so I headed over! Outside looked very unassuming but that didn't deter me. I walked in a it looked like your normal everyday donut shop not a bad or a good thing just pretty basic. Selection was pretty small IMO but i decided on the chocolate custard filled donut- it looked good and full of custard. I think it was around $1.50 got it the car started eating it- it was ok but I kept wondering when I'd hit the payday in the custard!!! Bummer it's just a squirt of custard in the very middle of the donut! I gotta say Tehachapi yelpers you let me down here- they have an almost 5 star review here and nothing at all great, the service was even below average and it didn't seem very clean inside as well! Not to keep bashing its just an average every day donut shop that should probably have between 2-3 star rating IMO read more

Donuts here are really good, fresh and tasty. Got a few different ones and they were all great. I am 72 years old. This is the best donut shop I have ever eaten at. Carlos makes the fantastic apple fritters. The donut pastry is the best I have ever eaten. My husband and I love the Boston Creams. There is so much vanilla cream filling. His glazed donuts have the most delicate texture. I wish I took pictures but unfortunately I couldn't wait and basically swallowed these donuts whole they were so good! I was passing through town and a local told me that these were the best in town and that the owner was a really great guy who gives back to the community. I love to support businesses like that. INCREDIBLE donuts made at Carlos Donuts in Tehachapi!! Had this place on my radar for awhile now. Finally made it here recently with some encouragement from Brittany C. My wife and I dropped by close to 11am on a Friday morning. I was really thinking that the donut selection would be slim to none at that time. To my delight, they still had a lot of donuts to choose from. Lucky me!! The shop itself is nothing fancy to look at. There were a few tables available to dine at and enjoy your treats. Seriously, though, ones eyes cannot help but be drawn to the display cases filled with large and yummy looking donuts!! Their donuts are larger than any other donuts I've seen in Kern County!! Most importantly, their donuts taste better than the majority of shops I've tried anywhere. Wish I could have tried their Apple Fritters, but they were sold out. I did try their Maple Bars which are huge and delicious. Their Custard filled donuts are packed with creamy goodness and yummyness. Both the Blueberry donut and Strawberry donut were top notch!!
