Old Lisbon truly feels like stepping into the heart of Lisbon. From the azulejos on the walls to the cloth table settings, the details immediately transport you to Portugal. The clams were very good--slightly acidic, but easily balanced with a less sharp white wine. Ordering bread is a must to fully enjoy the dish. The cod was juicy, with a pronounced oven-baked flavor and well-cooked onions. The red snapper was good, though a bit on the dry side. Overall, the experience was very enjoyable and remarkably close to what you would expect in Lisbon itself. My girlfriends and I dined here on one of my last nights on a recent visit to Miami. Given the rave reviews and recommendations, I was pretty excited to try this restaurant! My trip to Portugal was just last year, so I was looking forward to reliving some culinary memories. It was pretty easy to snag a last-minute reservation on a Saturday evening so we were seated right away with no wait. The restaurant has limited parking but valet is available. Inside, you definitely get "old" European vibes but it's packed with people inside and out. My friends and I were seated in a separate room apart from the main dining area - even this area was packed! We enjoyed being away from the crowd so we could catch up on conversation. Food wasn't the best, but I've never loved Portuguese food, so my expectations weren't incredibly high, but I did enjoy the ambiance, the availability of a restaurant with no wait on a Saturday night, and the great service. We ordered the following: - Polvo A Vinagreta - Paelha A Marinheira - Bacalhau A Old LIsbon - Pastel de nata No dish was terrible, no dish was incredibly great. We have driven past this place over the last 10 years always wanting to try it. Today we were in the neighborhood and pulled into the parking lot to give it a shot. The place has a good vibe as you enter. All the employees that work here are very attentive And they all help each other out. I honestly did not know what to expect as when it came to the food. Haven't been here in a while. Service was quick and the restaurant was not busy. This is a Portuguese menu so expect to see a lot of Cod dishes. Today I ordered the fish soup and Paella for one that, if conservative wise, two can ear from it. Food was good and it come out as ordered with a little under temperature for my taste. Nonetheless the food was on point as expected of this restaurant. The ambience is very relaxing and both casual and elegant. It is up to you how to come but shorts or a tank top is not casual, just saying. This restaurant sits on a corner so I always park on the side. There is park and pay but it is worth it. They do have parking on the back just in case you want someone parking your car. Prices can be a little on the high end, however if you want to enjoy good food and a nice place outside the routine is worth it. Reason for not getting a 5 star is simple. This was my first time at this restaurant after being living in Miami for 25 years. Upon arrival the place was packed on a Saturday night. We were a party of 8 and took like 25 minutes to wait for our table although we had a reservation. The best dishes to order are with cod for sure. I had the one with potatoes and it was delicious, very good taste and balance on salt and pepper and onions. Other ordered the cod with cheese on top. Their portions are so big that one plate is good for two. I brought leftover home. Definitely worth the visit and go for a special ocassion and delicious cod dinner. read more

Wow! I finally made it and it didn't disappoint. After years of passing by this and thinking to myself I need to try it: it came into fruition tonight. It's a cute, classy interior with a show type of kitchen great service. Olive oil, wine and food all from Portugal. Their cod croquettes starter were tasty as well as the black eyed peas they topped. My surprising favorite was the vegetable strew. This alone Id return for. The cod main was also very nicely prepared with fresh trimmings albeit a bit bony (watch out!). Amazing, authentic Portuguese food! We were seated in one of their discreet dining areas with a little wooden bar. We had fresh bread with butter, followed by the main dishes which came in cast-iron pans. Everything we tried was delicious, from the flaky cod in thick tomato sauce to the tender beef. The cod tasted so fresh it verged on sinewy and chewy, a generous fillet was given which can last 2-3 meals. Their dessert menu is EXTENSIVE but of course had to try the pasteis de nata; they come in a set of 2, crispy and flaky with a cozy custard interior like a hug. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Called to book a reservation, they accepted it and when we get to the restaurant they tell us there is no reservation and then the manager came over to see what the issue was and immediately denied that we had a reservation without even checking the list and he had a terrible attitude towards us, not sure why. I showed him the call history on my phone and they confirmed the phone number was theirs. The manager sat us anyways but his attitude was unprofessional and poor, he threw the menus on the table like if they were a deck of cards. My family and I would not tolerate such disrespect so we decided to leave and the manager talked back to all of our family members as we were walking out which is super unprofessional and rude, that should not happen. Food is amazing, I was there about 15 years ago and came back this past Saturday to celebrate Mother's Day, I've picked this restaurant because I still remember the delicious food dishes they have and the best is that is a 5 star food at reasonable price. We've ordered 4 dishes. Seafood platter, rice stew with Cod fish. White beams (fejioada) with fish and Cod fish with vegetables. Desert was no different, delicious. Service is great, we were greeted by our host Pedro, a true knowledgeable host on the food and wine. Came here last weekend with a group of seven. The food was just bad. I could list what we had, but there wasn't a single thing that we ate that anyone in our party enjoyed. The octopus was slimy, the cod was slimy and fishy, the steak was served lukewarm and needed to be refired . There seem to be issues with both the quality of ingredients and preparation. I came with my friend for a weekday dinner and girly chat. We ordered Bacalhau Com Natas and Classic paella a beer was recommended by our server and was a great complement being lightly smoky and refreshing. Fresh baked bread was served with oil and butter. Paelha Marinheira was abundant (we order 2 entrees to share) barely ate half of the plate and was generously topped with seafood and juicy broth to enjoy the Zafroned rice. Bacalhau Com Natas suggested after some pics on Yelp was delicious and delicate in flavor, juicy and tender and cream and cheese balanced the typical cod saltiness. At the end of our meal manager offered us a Porto glass to finish the dining experience. Ambiance is classy and quiet, comfortable for a pleasant conversation.
