Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to expectations. It started with taking over 35 minutes to find parking. The closest parking I could find was at a supermarket about half a mile away. We finally walked in and, to be fair, the place itself is very nice. We sat down and started ordering. One of the first appetizers to come out was the croquettes, and no exaggeration, they were still frozen in the middle. The rest of the food was okay. Presentation was good, but overall it lacked. Flavor profile and quality was just not there. The wine prices were definitely marked up, but that's somewhat expected--it's a wine bar in Miami. But really turned me off was when they turned on all the lights just before 11 pm., which was basically their cue to let everyone know it was time to leave.Not exactly how you expect to end a birthday celebration. It is difficult to find (on the same side of the street as flannigans and right before a little strip center, and it's directly across the street from the neon green building housing Grove Gallery & Interiors. There are a couple of parking spaces out front, and also some out back. We went for their amazing lunch special, which is $20 including tax and tip, an appetizer, main, dessert...AND a glass of wine, beer, Sangria or soda. English didn't seem to be anyone's main language the day I went. So somehow I ended up with a chicken Caesar salad, which I'm not a fan of. I'd ordered the grilled chicken with a side salad. They made things right, and it was delicious. Oh, and both my friend and I started things off with the ham croquetas and aioli, which were great. She ordered the skirt steak and diced potatoes, which looked fantastic. We both got the almond cake and ice cream for dessert. I have been here a few times and have had great experiences however today the grilled romaine took 40 minutes and the server even got his steak before my appetizer. The last time I had it had more flavor and today was more on the bland side so I'm not sure and I would try something different next time. They rearranged the wines so it covers the walls and surrounds the entire restaurant, giving such a great vibe, like you're having tapas in a wine cellar! The oxtail on polenta is out of this world and the churrasco steak was also. The dessert just finished a great meal. The server was rude and seemed annoyed. The food was HORRIBLE. What used to be a delicious place for TAPAS has become garbage. All of the tapas were brought out within second of ordering before the server even brought the wine. The tortilla was tasteless and cold in the center. The sausage al vino was a plate full of burnt potatoes with maybe 5 tiny slices of sausage. The cod croquetas were cold. The garbanzos had no taste and it seems they opened a can poured it in a bowl and tossed green peppers in it. They no longer offer bread for the table. The patatas bravas were a bag of potato chips soaked in egg with sliced sausage not serrano ham as the menu stated. It was so bad that we opted to not order anything else and left. As soon as we walked in, we pick a delicious bottle of red wine. We started with the manchego croquettas (they were good, not great), followed by the bacon wrapped dates- WOW! These were incredible!
