    #6 2egg breakfast.

This place is amazing! Excellent breakfast... no frills just good home cooking. Everyone was super friendly and accommodating. The restaurant itself was super clean and had a bunch of cool artifacts and things to look at. Definitely recommend! Btw husband had the biscuits and gravy breakfast but he sit it so fast, I couldn't get a picture lol

Old Log Cabin rolls out the red carpet for tour groups.

We lunched here with a tour group. This venerable roadside watering hole is the real thing, not a replica. Old Log Cabin remains family-owned and one-of-a-kind. Having served travelers since 1926, it's the antithesis of today's slick fast food chains. The décor is genuine--rustic, unpretentious, and cluttered with kitsch. The menu features the straightforward and unfussy cooking that generations of hungry travelers stoked up on before anyone had a clue what gluten and cholesterol were. The chow, though not perfect, is hearty and satisfying. Service is old-school friendly and efficient. I absolutely adore experiences mired in mid-20th century nostalgia, and although there might be fancier eats elsewhere, I have to give this place 4 stars for its authenticity.

Definitely a cool place to stop and check out on the way to Springfield on route 66. The food was OK very salty definitely not priced for the fact that it's in the middle of nowhere and you are getting the bare basics. But it is a tourist thing so I get it. The people were friendly and the service was OK blaze sure can use a clean up. Just because it's nostalgic doesn't mean it Has to be dirty.

Traveling from Chicago to St. Louis, we found this place thanks to yelp. What a find, exactly the homemade experience you'd hope to run into En Route 66. Great BLT and turkey burger, but make sure to stay for the pie. Also everyone is super friendly.

Had breakfast today at the old Log Cabin. Very interesting history. Service and food was good but the inside was in desperate need of updating. Cleanliness was also lacking. Possible more historic pictures could be displayed as decor and a decent parking lot would bring more customers. Might come back but Ill mark it has been there.

Frisco melt. Sourdough hamburger w bacon. Tastes like a grandma in the back home made it. Yum!

It's worth the trip off hwy to eat here. Good price and fresh food. Don't worry if the parking lot's empty at lunch. Go in here! Btw you can put in a DVD and watch a movie!!

Nostalgic Route 66 restaurant. Lots of memorabilia and souviniers. Food quality low to medium.

Pontiac, Illinois has quite a lot of Route 66 information. Museums, car museum and a quaint town…read moresquare. We walked from the car museum to Edinger's Filling Station for lunch. We couldn't have picked a better spot. We were seated immediately and notice the place was filled with mainly locals. Our server stopped by right away to take our drink order and ask us if we had any questions. She was so nice, so friendly, offered great recommendations and was fun to talk to. Mr. Bee ordered the Monte Cristo Wrap and I tried the house made veggie burger. The food came out quickly and was nice and hot. The Monte Cristo Wrap was really quite good and had a lot of nice flavors and was seasoned well. My veggie burger was different but delicious. It was also seasoned well and I managed to eat every last bite and thoroughly enjoyed it. I ordered a side of Fried Mac and Cheese and it too was very different than what you would expect. The mac and cheese is not shaped into balls, battered and fried. They take their mac and cheese and smash it down on the grill to cook it. So good. It had lots of crispy bits on it. The food was fresh and really well cooked. The place is like an old fashioned diner and friendly service with a smile. The atmosphere was fun, and everyone seemed friendly and were enjoying their meals. We were full, but when our server came by and said we have fresh made pies, Mr. Bee jumped on that bandwagon. We got a piece of coconut cream pie to go. We stopped in the park in the middle of the square where there are a few benches and picnic tables. We enjoyed our pie, it was scrumptious while enjoying the beautiful sunny day.

It's a pretty casual place that's better than it looks. Can get crowded but things ran smoothly last time in. The food is basic diner stuff with a few better things. A popular place for the local residents to gather. It's one of the many local bars and restaurants around here. This seems to be one of the better ones. Has the main dining area. While waiting for an order go check out the back with the gaming area to play slots. It's $2.50 for domestic beers. That's good. It's about $7 for appetizers. The Pretzel Bites are the best of these. Fluffy and comes with a dipping sauce, choice of beer cheese or something else. The rest of the menu features classics like breakfast including eggs, omelets, and toast, and lunch has things like burgers, fish, and pasta. For sure it's a place for locals as well as tourists looking for classic diners and grills. It's got a lot of various memorabilia. They're closed Sundays.

We also order some food to go and a buffet to go. We had 2 buffets in house. The strawberries were bomb! The mash taters and gray was yummy! The chicken noddles was so tasty (homemade too) loved the beef! Biscuits were on key. Will definitely be coming here again next time we blow on threw.

Ok. I have been to a few buffets and you have a lot of kinda warm food and not too cold stuff. Well…read morethe Country Farmhouse gets it right!! The hot items were hot. Not warm. But hot !! A couple kinds of French toast. Scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, country fried steak, bacon, ham, corned beef hash, lots of potato casseroles, waffles, two kids of French toast...it just goes on and on. And then you have a full salad area with fresh fruit !! Oh and did I mention an entire buffet of pastries? Donuts, cinnamon rolls, danishes, muffins. It just kept going !!! Everything was fresh and replenished and delicious. The only thing I'd pass on was the Bloody Mary bar. Not a lot of stuffs. Cold chicken nuggets, bacon, green olives, some sad pickle spears, lemon wedges, celery, kielbasa, that was pretty much it. Would Have like to have seen cheese cubes or maybe some shrimp. But it was not bad, just nothing to write home about. All in all for 20.00 a person for food (I don't remember what the bloody bar was) it was a good deal. And they do it daily, not just on the weekends!!!
