I was visiting from out of state when I spent an evening at Old Main Street Saloon. Fantastic atmosphere, above average bartenders who were friendly and attentive. I met a lot of people, made some new friends and had a few fantastic drinks (Kimmikazie) and enjoyed my time there. Wish I lived closer so I could patronize Old Main Street Saloon more frequently. Impeccable vibes. My partner and I were just passing through and decided to stop to play pool. Everyone felt warm and the jukebox was bumpin, a healthy variety of tunes were played. If you're ever on mushrooms, kick back at the saloon. Great service, will definitely be back! read more

Two blonde bartenders very rude ignored our group and would not even take our orders just kept walking past us and was taking everyone else's orders around us. Not sure if it was because of our skin color or what there problem was with us we came in quite and just waited patiently at the bar finally left after 10 minutes with no service. This place was not what we expected. I am open to trying again based on the time of year and day we dropped in. I will also order a simple draft beer as the bartender did not have a clue about liquor or making a decent (easy) cocktail. If you're trying this place out plan to order a beer or a shot as anything else will be confusing. That being said it has a rustic saloon feel and the staff was friendly enough. It just wasn't what we were hoping for in the way of a busy, fun, hometown bar. Will update if I return. read more

The pool tables cost too much and the bartender is ridiculously slow. It's a shame that this is the only place to go in Sebastopol.

Well unless you fall into the following two categorizes you probly can skip on going to old main. But if you are either visiting your parents, or live in Sebastopol then I am sad to say its either this or Jaspers. Bad bar tenders and the fact that you are stuck in Sebastopol are both causes of severe bouts of annoyance and depression. Really the place is mediocre, but is that what you want on a Friday night? Please people aim higher. You deserve it. read more

Great ol' skool bar with a sense of history. The perspective alone is worth a visit just to glimpse Sebastopol in the 80s & 90s. All the pictures and pool tables tell a story of a different era in a very different town. I got a Hennessy and coke for $8 and it wasn't light on the Hennessy! This place is charming and no frills. Come here to have a drink and meet a new buddy. Locally orientated but also very welcoming to new faces. This is what a bar should be. Sonoma County is full of craft cocktail, $15 dollar drink spots (which are great by the way) but sometimes you want a drink strong enough to send a little chill down your spine. read more

Every time I've been here, I've experienced rude bartenders & and drunk pool players. The popcorn was terrible, and the men's room reeks of cig smoke and urine. Not an enjoyable experience. read more

Here's the skinny: The drinks are cheap, it's rarely crowded, plus they've got a tiny train that goes around the bar and an old-school jukebox. Why do I go here? Because they have darts, shuffleboard, and two pool tables - and it's rarely busy enough that you would have to fight for any one of them. I like this place. One of the better dive bars in the area. Mixed crowd younger and older, cool bartender. Great pool playing area, cool little train that you can pay .25 cents to move along the tracks. Entrances in the front and back for easy access. Think it was a 1.50 for pool and really don't like when places charge more then a dollar a game at a dive bar so that's why I gave it 4 stars read more

Since there's not one good place to drink in sebastopol anymore, this place isn't any better than the rest. I used to like going to places like this when I was in college. When you ask if there's a happy hour, [there isn't], the smartass barmaid replies: "We don't need one. We're always happy here!" If that's so, then why don't you look like it? I think this bar caters to locals who are regulars. I haven't been here in quite sometime, but they always seemed to have the same old boring crap on tap that Jasper's did, with maybe 1 or 2 exceptions. I liked the dark, old western style wooden bar, with the train running round the place, when it is. But as far as a place to hang out, this isnt' it. I much preferred Aubergine's Bar. read more

On Sunday 10/26 we sat at the bar for over 10 minutes with not so much as a greeting from either of the bartenders. The place wasn't that busy, there were other empty chairs next to us. The place looked quaint and I was completely disappointed by the bad service. read more

Across the street from the cookie company, Global Village, and The Pine Cone Restaurant, right next door to Sprint Copy Center and the bike shop, down the street from Milk & Honey. This saloon was featured in the movie Mumford--starring Ted Danson ! (no, you probably won't have heard of it). It's very dark and dingy and wonderful inside. If you go please say hello for me to my uncle Freddy-Frank. He'll be by the pool table and you'll know he's inside because his motorcycle will be out front. read more

If you stopped in back in 1980 and again today it would look pretty much the same. Nothing fancy but a good old small town dive bar. Having lived in Sebastopol for more than 50 years I have seen several such bars fail yet this one not only survives but thrives. I for one am happy about that. read more

Dont let looks fool you. Its dark and dirty and the regulars look like they are gonna be completely mean. The truth is. Its what a bar is supposed to be. Drinks are cheap and poured expertly, the people are friendly, theres an arique train that makes the rounds, a killer jukebox and free popcorn. Excellent bar. Stopped in on Valentine's day to have a few drinks. Was pleasantly surprised. Good jukebox. Good bar maiden. Plenty of space. Games - we played shuffle board. I'm from Forestville and usually go to the club there, but my friend and I decided to check out some bars in Sebastopol. Went to this bar and became very disappointed. The drinks were fabulous that is why I put 3 stars, but the bartender with the orange yellow looking bangs killed it for us. She seemed mad at us for some reason. My friend couldn't decide what he wanted to drink and she seemed annoyed. Mind you they were very slow. Three or four locals. I understand how that can be annoying... especially for a bartender, but she didn't even ask what he liked to drink or what they had on tap. Once he did order there was no smile from the lady and she continued to talk to the locals which seems logical except for the fact that I told her we had never been to this establishment before. Basically the drinks were prepared well when we ordered them, but having a bartender as a mother I expected a little more convo and respect. read more

This place is definitely a dive bar, but its fantastic! the bartenders are great not only in service and drink quality but so personable as well. The crowd is usually composed of great people.. I have met a few strange people but generally genuinely nice. The drink prices are fair and the ambiance is fantastic...not your typical college bar many of the patrons are regulars so if you generally just go to get fucked up and start bar fights stay away...but if you're looking to have a great time with great people by all means stop in and visit!! read more
