The in interior of this restaurant/bar has animal heads displayed all throughout and knotty pine One orders at the bar and then has the option of dining inside or on the patio. Hole in the wall. I've been several times but first time reviewing. You walk in to the bar area with two pool tables. Family friendly. Middle section are tables and outside area has seating as well. Biggest thing to remember here is it is CASH only. The menu changes based off what's available - most are locally sourced ingredients. Rumor is the chef is a former Michelin star chef who wanted to live a quieter life- either way- the food is to die for. You can tell love and passion is put into each dish. We only go for lunch. small fixed menu. They do rotating dinners too, but understand it can get crazy. Our Go-To is the cheeseburger. No fries but ya don't need em. It's a fantastic burger for the price and always good. Other reviews complain about speed of service and other nonsense. Came here to grab dinner on a Friday night but got here a bit late (~8:30) so the kitchen was practically closed already. They were super sweet and still able to put together two orders of the shrimp boil for us! It was delicious. Served with two slices of toasted sourdough, it really hit the spot. Broth was rich and not too salty. We ate it all! We were able to pay with our card for dinner and the bar is cash only. Really small parking lot and hard to park our large truck when it was a bit busy. It looks like there is some street parking available (no "no parking" signs that I could see). Truth is, I went in to use the head, but then a sign said "restroom for customers only" and I started up a convo with the barback who turned out to be Canadian. We were so impressed with Casino at our last visit we couldn't wait to come back and sample some other menu items. We were excited by the offerings of Dungeness crab cakes and soft shell crab sandwich. Unfortunately the crab cake had little crabby flavor and tasted more like a salmon cake. The soft shell crab was really small and was lost in the bun and toppings. The room temperature french fries didn't really improve the offering.. clearly there is a lot of inconsistency in the kitchen, so caveat emptor, as they say. read more

Bar is kinda weird - separate / cash only (bartender let me know it's been cash for 70 years - ok thanks for the history lesson). Now to the food - fricken amazing! Holly is a rock star! Each dish was bursting with flavor. Started with devil eggs with vinegar - really good. I had the the squash soup - super yummy. Terrible " service", if you can call it service at all. This is a dive/local towny bar, which is cool if you just want a cheap beer, but if you want food, go somewhere else. At first, we were told to wait because (as we were told by the bartender) the kitchen staff was in the back "drinking." Great local spot for food and conversation. I had a grilled cheese and tomato soup. The tomato soup had great texture with chickpeas in there and an interesting flavor profile, spices, almost more like a bisque, very rich and delicious. The grilled cheese was made well, golden and crispy on the outside of the bread, oozing melty cheese, some of which spilt over onto the grill and became crunchy and adhered to the bread. The quality of the food as well as the historic (or just old, depending on how you see it) building/atmosphere is part of the charm of this establishment. Plenty of bar space, pool tables, and a couple of old arcade games to help an afternoon or evening slide by. I would definitely come back again if hungry and in the area. read more

When looking to spend time in Bodega Bay, I saw dive bar and the description and thought...yes I am stoping there. It is a small menu and appears to change daily but what a menu. I had the duck meatballs. My husband had the polenta. We both could not be happier. For dessert the only option was the panna cotta. It tasted really earthy but the flavor got better with ever bite. Best cheeseburger in Sonoma county. Went there today for lunch with some friends and was absolutely blown away. Juicy, cheesy, caramelized onions and a special sauce. Perfect sized patty and bun. This place gave me a very inconsistent vibe. The interior is very rustic with decors from decades past but the very limited menu seemed very modern. We got excited and ordered the corn chowder, steak and mussel dishes. The corn chowder was very sweet as well as the mussels. They would have been better if they are in the savory side. She never checked in with us once we got our food as we sat there with all empty drinks. -Some motorcycle guys came in the bar and then she really forgot we existed!
