This is a pretty cool little dive bar. The drinks were average. Then again it's a dive bar. The ambiance was cool. The banana cream pie was awesome. The staff were very nice. A must stop. read more

We really enjoyed our visit. Cheap drinks and food. We had just ate and were bummed we didn't get the delicious hamburger. Staff was great. Building was very interesting and fun. read more

This is a "what you see is what you get" kind of place. I do appreciate their authenticity. Only 5 items on the lunch order which made it very easy to order. You place your order at the bar and the person working the bar was a kick. I guess she thought we were city folks as we were asking what kind of wines they offered and such. When we inquired what kind of bread sandwiches were served on she said "just regular bread". The in interior of this restaurant/bar has animal heads displayed all throughout and knotty pine One orders at the bar and then has the option of dining inside or on the patio. As it was a very warm sunny day, we opted for the patio. While seated you can see the iconic church in Bodega, St. Teresa of Avila. I had the tuna melt with a bag of chips and a Diet Coke. The tuna melt was pretty darn good you can't beat the price with all three coming in at undef $15. read more

Divey? Check. Old school? Check? Billiards? Check? Beer on tap? Yup. 0 percent alcohol? Uh-huh. Pine walls warm and rustic knotty pine with tables inviting food, so damn hits the spot. Locals love it! Charm oozes and drips through the doors. Super cool and friendly service with food to go. Love the vibe! read more

Hole in the wall. I've been several times but first time reviewing. You walk in to the bar area with two pool tables. Family friendly. Middle section are tables and outside area has seating as well. Biggest thing to remember here is it is CASH only. The menu changes based off what's available - most are locally sourced ingredients. Rumor is the chef is a former Michelin star chef who wanted to live a quieter life- either way- the food is to die for. You can tell love and passion is put into each dish. We had the spaghetti and meatballs- still dreaming about the meatballs. Perfection. Stop in. Be patient. And talk to the staff- all super friendly. read more

The Casino Bar & Grill - Menu - Dive Bars Near Me - Bodega, California

This cannot be even called a restaurant. If you are looking for a dive bar with okay priced beer, do it. But if you want a bite to eat, expect to wait until 5pm for the server to come up with a menu on an erasable, white board and frozen tater tots sitting out at room temperature. Bodega Bay is only 10 minutes drive away and has way better food options. Save your time and brain cells. read more

Food is great, especially the hamburgers. Service is very friendly, and the ambiance is authentic small town America! Highly recommend!

I've heard great things about their rotating menus, so my husband and I decided to check it out for date night. I looked up the menu on Instagram by Half/Hitch beforehand, and everything turned out to be even better than expected! Love finding hidden spots like this. great food in a fun dive bar atmosphere. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and deliciously diverse. We'll definitely be back! read more

The food is always changing. Because chef is amazing. He generally doesn't pose his dinner menu until he arrives. It's randomly picked by the cook. But I could tell you this, you will not be disappointed read more

What's not to love about, well roadhouse, dive bar, whatever you want to call a place like this. Truth is, I went in to use the head, but then a sign said "restroom for customers only" and I started up a convo with the barback who turned out to be Canadian. He was cool but I thought, karma is speaking here and ordered a Canadian whiskey straight up (Crown Royal was what they had). Our local friends said this place is known for a good pour, and my glass held at least 3 oz. of whiskey. Maybe my new Canadian friend had deduced from my query "do y'all sell t-shirts" that I could handle my whiskey, and while I used the head, my glass was shared around, with my permission, of course. We stepped out into the side yard, where a woman was shucking miyagi oysters and I downed a cucumber-salty dozen. What can I say, a great afternoon in a fun spot. read more

We only go for lunch. small fixed menu. They do rotating dinners too, but understand it can get crazy. Our Go-To is the cheeseburger. No fries but ya don't need em. It's a fantastic burger for the price and always good. Other reviews complain about speed of service and other nonsense. This is a small local bar so have a beer, and be patient and by all means get the cheeseburger and sit outside if it's nice out. read more

Came here to grab dinner on a Friday night but got here a bit late (~8:30) so the kitchen was practically closed already. They were super sweet and still able to put together two orders of the shrimp boil for us! It was delicious. Served with two slices of toasted sourdough, it really hit the spot. Broth was rich and not too salty. We ate it all! We were able to pay with our card for dinner and the bar is cash only. Really small parking lot and hard to park our large truck when it was a bit busy. It looks like there is some street parking available (no "no parking" signs that I could see). So amazing this bar/restaurant has been open for 75 years! We will definitely return (and early enough for dinner). read more

Don't expect great service or great drinks, but if you expect attitude, bad drinks, and good food- do it. Local watering hole. They switch up chefs nightly and menu options. Gotta add them on FB to stay alert of menu. I'd say come here, try it, it's a local "legend spot" only because of Evelyn (96 year old owner). Absolute terrible service except by a very small few ladies. The guys are really rude and non attentive. Pool tables suck. Cash only and ATM sit charge is a whopping $3.50. read more

The Casino Bar & Grill - Cheese burger by Jo. Damn good, gotta order before 4. - Dive Bars Near Me - Bodega, California

We were so impressed with Casino at our last visit we couldn't wait to come back and sample some other menu items. We were excited by the offerings of Dungeness crab cakes and soft shell crab sandwich. Unfortunately the crab cake had little crabby flavor and tasted more like a salmon cake. The soft shell crab was really small and was lost in the bun and toppings. The room temperature french fries didn't really improve the offering.. clearly there is a lot of inconsistency in the kitchen, so caveat emptor, as they say. read more

Such a sleeping beauty - bar, pool tables, greasy wood, oh my. Probably would not of gone to this place on my own if it wasn't for the Yelp reviews. Bar is kinda weird - separate / cash only (bartender let me know it's been cash for 70 years - ok thanks for the history lesson). Now to the food - fricken amazing! Holly is a rock star! Each dish was bursting with flavor. Started with devil eggs with vinegar - really good. I had the the squash soup - super yummy. Also had the Salmon - really really good (PRO TIP: GET THERE EARLY - they run out). My partner had the chicken - she said it was good but came to the table luke warm (bummer). The food changes on the different days and depends on the chef. We will be coming back as a regular. read more

Terrible " service", if you can call it service at all. This is a dive/local towny bar, which is cool if you just want a cheap beer, but if you want food, go somewhere else. At first, we were told to wait because (as we were told by the bartender) the kitchen staff was in the back "drinking." When we finally got the kitchen staff's attention, they were rude, bothered. and dismissive, as if we were asking them for a favor, yet they're the ones who display their nightly dinner menu on social media and at local hotels every night (which is where we even saw their menu in the first place.) This place is not worth your time. Unless you just want a banquet beer, go somewhere else. Oh, and by the way, in the back room they had a big poster hung up on the wall to thank all the mutual aid first responders for their efforts during the major local wildfires in 2017 (Tubbs, Atlas, Pocket, Nuns, etc). I was one of those first responders; I spent countless weeks here in support of my HOME (I was born and raised in Sonoma County) to help my local community, and yet these folks still treated my wife and I like dogshit, read more

I wish I could give this place half star. I called to see if we could bring my dog. The lady over the phone said of course. We arrived , and the bar tender women didnt greet us but said we can't have our dog here. I replied yes we're moving to the patio areas. The bartender said no dog allowed at all. We attempted to explain ourselves, we called and they said yes. The lady not professional & just rude with her response. read more

It's a dive bar, but not a very good one at that. It has the feel of a bar that you might get stabbed which is cool but none of the surprisingly friendliness from the bartender that makes you feel at ease. The burgers were good. We had three orders and the guy was a little overwhelmed. Still very good burgers. No beers on tap, which is crazy and their bottle selection wasn't much. I want at least one beer over 8% to get me drunk. As a POC did I feel safe, no but that's a dive bar I guess. You walk in and like the movies everything goes quiet and everyone at the bar just stares at you. read more

Great local spot for food and conversation. I had a grilled cheese and tomato soup. The tomato soup had great texture with chickpeas in there and an interesting flavor profile, spices, almost more like a bisque, very rich and delicious. The grilled cheese was made well, golden and crispy on the outside of the bread, oozing melty cheese, some of which spilt over onto the grill and became crunchy and adhered to the bread. The quality of the food as well as the historic (or just old, depending on how you see it) building/atmosphere is part of the charm of this establishment. Plenty of bar space, pool tables, and a couple of old arcade games to help an afternoon or evening slide by. I would definitely come back again if hungry and in the area. read more

Sometimes I wished that I live in a small town and had a bar like this next door to me. When looking to spend time in Bodega Bay, I saw dive bar and the description and thought...yes I am stoping there. It is a small menu and appears to change daily but what a menu. I had the duck meatballs. My husband had the polenta. We both could not be happier. For dessert the only option was the panna cotta. It tasted really earthy but the flavor got better with ever bite. The nectarine complimented it very well. The service was great. I love the deer heads mounted on the wall. If I lived in town I can see myself coming here everyday. I highly recommend it. read more

We took a ride to Bodega on Monday. The internet said a "pop up" restaurant was there and open. I was told it was quite good and the chefs were from healdsburg, when we got there, the restaurant was empty-completely gone. 4 people were at the bar. I would have liked to ask a couple of questions, but no one looked up or talked to us, including the bartender. We stood there for about 5 minutes and then left. read more

Best cheeseburger in Sonoma county. Went there today for lunch with some friends and was absolutely blown away. Juicy, cheesy, caramelized onions and a special sauce. Perfect sized patty and bun. Best kept secret around and I'll be making the 35 minute drive from my home to eat here often. You must go! Bring cash, and an empty belly. Great food great atmosphere! This is a gem of a place, tucked away in the quaint town of Bodega, locals have been frequenting this place for a very long time. The sweet little ole lady who owns it still stops in and works the bar. The chefs prepair some amazing local cuisine with an eye for detail. The food is good although our portions were on the small side. The drinks are always great and reasonably priced.

Coolest bar and grill in Sonoma - go on nights when local chefs serve 5 star meals or have a fantastic burger and a beer!

Charming divey bar with pool tables, a jukebox, and friendly staff. Monday-Thursday they do a pop-up for dinner -- you can always find that day's menu posted on Instagram under @thehollyandtalishow. When we got food, they had kimchi brisket with roast sweet potatoes and curry chicken pot pie. SO GOOD! I don't even drink and yet I would go back to the Casino in a heartbeat. This place gave me a very inconsistent vibe. The interior is very rustic with decors from decades past but the very limited menu seemed very modern. The steak was ok! read more
