BEWARE!!! I guess I went on a "locals" night. I live in the area, but don't frequent the place. I've been here multiple times and never had a issue. TONIGHT however, I was over charged by about four drinks. I sat alone, and definitely paid attention to my count. The bartender (small older lady with blonde hair) had to be the one tagging other peoples' drinks on my tab. I didn't make a scene, I just let the issue reflect in my tip. Had she just been honest, she would have received a 50% tip on my tab. I'll probably go back here and there because I like the place... but next time I won't leave without calling them out if they pull that crap again. read more

The location of this restaurant is just lovely and we were excited to eat there...BUT... We ordered 2 appetizers (fish dip and Mac n cheese bites) and didn't receive them until an hour and a half later- this was also after we had to either wave down multiple servers as well as going inside to ask where our food was. We were never asked if we wanted to order lunch and were never brought waters. Once the appetizers arrived, the fish dip looked like straight vomit and was served with regular saltine crackers from the local grocery store. The Mac n cheese bites were all bursted, stuck together and not even hot. We didn't receive an apology or a discount to compensate the ridiculous service and disgusting food. Cool laidback place on Lake Howard. Very casual. Longtime local crowd. Lotta room inside and out. Great service. Fine grub. I go for raw oysters. Average size. Around $22 dozen. Cooked several ways. Available at long counter or table. Good salad and sandwich selection. And maybe pizza. read more

Unfriendly to service animals Apparently you can fight for your country but Old Man Frank's does not have to follow the Laws we give our life's for. Service animals are restricted to a seperate dinning aera out side seating away from guest which is not all that nice or comfortable. And they feel this is ok and they don't have to follow USA Laws when it comes to service animals. I think all USA Service retirees and active should Boycott this un-American establishment read more

First time to Old Man Franks. My dad and I decided to come here after hearing about it and let's just say we don't have much to say, but that's because we weren't able to talk to each other over the volume of the music. Now don't get me wrong the band was really good, but part of playing at an establishment is being able to adjust to the environment. The music was so loud that my dad and I had to shout in order to even attempt a conversation or order our food. The volume wouldn't have been a problem had there been more bodies to absorb some of the sound but there was maybe 15 people maximum out on the deck. They need to adjust the sound according to number of people there. Additionally their menu is very limited, the food wasn't bad but it's also is not anything to write home about. We probrobly won't be back. read more

Went Friday evening... had a fabulous time. At first I did have to go find a server to take our order but after that the service was great as well as the food and drinks. Hubby and I snacked on a few different appetizers... the smoked rib tips were absolutely delicious and very tender. Mac & Cheese bites were yummy, as well as the garlic parm tater tots. The peal and eat shrimp had a little excessive seasoning but were still pretty yummy. They had a live band (Darra and the Detours) which were absolutely AMAZiNG! Came down a couple of years ago and had a blast in the open concept. Feeding birds, turtles and fish. Now it is more enclosed with plastic all around to see through. Not the same as it was. Still OK to go to because the place actually caters to the locals. Ordered a bacon cheese hamburg but came back and said they were out of bacon. We frequently enjoy the delightful food and music at this waterfront bar & restaurant. However, we visited 2 days ago and brought out-of-state guests with us, and the food service was extremely slow & disappointing! Of course there were lots of customers there, but apparently they didn't have enough wait and kitchen staff to provide good service to all those customers. Our waitress took our food order and said that food would probably take around 30 minutes...we said Ok. Well, our food arrived 1-hour later, without the wonderful "Franks Oysters" that we ordered! And, we were told more than once that "the oysters were almost done"...no oysters arrived! We were tired of waiting so we paid our bill and left, without enjoying those wonderful, almost-done oysters! read more

We had the pretzel cheese curd bites, oysters (raw), and oysters baked in a Parmesan cheese crust. The food was out of this world. The service was fast, and the employees were pleasant. If I lived in the area, I would be a regular. A mix of a young and older crowd, very laid back, right on the lake. Alligators, turtles, and other wildlife frequent the nearby seating. I've been eating at restaurants in the area daily for the past 3 weeks....this is my favorite. read more

We kept hearing about this place and decided to give it a try on a random Saturday. It was a nice day out so we sat outside. The atmosphere was nice and they also had live music that day. We were greeted and served drinks in a timely manner. That was all the positives about our experience here. We figured being an oyster bar they would have a good selection of seafood. Not so much. Their menu was very limited. I ordered a mahi sandwich. Although it tasted ok, it was very small and there was no option for fries which I thought was odd. The main reason I am giving this place only 2 stars is because the length of time it took to get our food out. It took them about 1 hour to bring us a small mahi sandwich, 2 mahi tacos, and 12 cold shrimp. We were just getting ready to walk out when or food arrived. Although the food tasted ok, it was not worth the long wait for me. There are much better options for seafood with more selection at a comparable price and less than half the wait time. read more

The view is beautiful of Lake Howard. The beers were ice cold. The food was delicious. We had the cheese burger, oysters, fish sandwich and the craw fish. Everyone was very satisfied! On Sundays they have live music. The prices were reasonable. Definitely a great place to go! read more
