Arrived on this past Saturday with a friend whom was helping her aunt celebrate a birthday. We arrived and was seated promptly. It was a group of 5 of us total. Half made a quick bathroom run to cleanse our hands and when we came back to the table the other have did the same. Might I add the bathrooms were clean. We all knew what we wanted so when the waiter took our order for drinks we all got the all you can eat blue crab special for $45.99. It included all you could eat blue crabs, fried shrimp, corn on the cob, fried clams, hush puppies and fried chicken. I enjoyed every last bit of it except the fried clams I just did not try buy choice. Crabs were nice and hot and full. Fried shrimp was tasty with cocktail sauce. The corn on the cob came in the husk and was nice sweet and juicy. The hush puppies were sprinkled with powdered sugar. The fried chicken was nice and crispy. I truly had no complaints. The waiter checked on us often. This place was jumping. They allow you 2 hours for the all you can eat sitting. The two drinks I had one was a $5.00 Grapefruit crush which was a special for that day and I also ordered The Bully which was a drink with tequila in it. My total experience didn't fall short at all. Went to this hidden gem and when I say that this place is worth the drive and worth the toll we paid and worth every penny . I'm so impressed , I could kick myself for not ensuring I was completely checked in on yelp before leaving the area , that's ok I was there trust me . Our waitress named was Cierra and she so kind and friendly and full of great recommendations , as well as knowledgeable about the menu. So much food I had the blue crab special, (45.00 bucks) consisted of all you can eat blue crabs , with all you can eat fried chicken. The chicken tasted like it was home made in some old grandmas kitchen . My family and I really like the Old Mill. Although we did arrive @ 7pm, we were able to get seated quickly and were served promptly too. We were warned as we ordered that our mini shrimp baskets: that the steamed shrimp were said to not be able to be peeled well. Well they were right. Slightly over cooked and they peeled like crap but everything tasted wonderful. I am actually not angry about it. I kind of had to laugh when the waitress said the cook said it was the brand. Hi I'm in a local guide on Google I thought that I would also post this on yelp as well please read Food was great until I realized this restaurant was very unsanitary Some lady had came to my table and grabed crab legs off my table and showed them to another person and said these are the crab legs that we have would you like to order them and then put them back on my table this was not only rude this was unsanitary it made me think I further looked into the kitchen and started seeing more crab legs come out of the kitchen missing legs from the bunches of cluster we had some were hot and cold meaning they put old crabs back I thought I did notice they use the same towels they wipe the chairs they wipe tables down with that's why my chair was very sticky also put the garbage cans on top of the tables Please bring in any food or health inspector soon this place is unsanitary by all means it needs further updates and HELP!!! Very casual atmosphere, I felt a little overdressed wearing a summer dress, but regardless of the messy meal, stayed clean:) We went for a company event so we had the whole restaurant to ourselves, which was nice; I hear the lines can get really long. The tables are covered with brown paper and there's s large trash can at the end of every table, pretty standard for crab houses. Before you get to the all you can eat crab, they bring you a pitcher of your favorite drink. Then they start bringing out sweet corn on the cob, hush puppies, fried clam strips, fried shrimp and fried chicken. This too is all you can eat! Try not to get too full on all the pre-game dishes. They deliver the crab to your table, by the bushel! The corn on the cob is still in the husk, it's so sweet. The fried shrimp are large and pretty good. The fried chicken is just fried chicken, nothing special; I should have sprinkled their house seasoning on it. The hush puppies are different, they're fried in a slightly softer coating than usual, and dusted with powdered sugar. Not bad. The crab was well seasoned, simply delicious Blue Crab. Came in at 7:45 on Father's Day with 9 people and was seated right away. Waitress came and took drink order right away and brought drinks back quickly. I live in Massachusetts so when we make the yearly trip to Delaware we want crabs. This is my first time to this place. There is an all you can eat option or many other combos that come with portions of food that will last me three days. NO LIES. The taste of the crabs themselves were bland but nothing that old bay and butter didn't fix. The server was attentive and nice. The sweet tea was really sweet but nothing that adding water can't fix. Definitely worth the money and the drive from Rehoboth beach. Would definitely come back here. The bathroom was clean which is big for me. I always go to wash my hands before I eat at a restaurant. We go to the Old Mill somewhat frequently and have mostly positive things to say about it. Plan to get there at open or soon after if you go on the weekend or be prepared to wait. The indoor waiting area gets very crowded but there is ample room to wait outdoors that is much more pleasant. I have found it frustrating to try and get a drink at the bar when it's busy. I frequently get one of the mini feast options because I can never finish my food- and it's all the goodness of the all you can eat, with less food, and you can take your leftovers with you. I don't understand the powdered sugar on hush puppies thing, it is beyond weird to me - However, they are happy to serve them to you without it provided you ask. My one criticism is that if someone in your party orders something other than the AYCE or Mini Feast, they will have a noticeably long wait for their food, after everyone else has started eating. I know that this can't be helped in some cases, but I feel like making the offer to hold everyone else's entrees until theirs is ready should be offered. read more
