My husband and I are visiting from NJ and have been with family at Frontier Town, not far from the restaurant. Maria is great! I attended with my family on Fourth of July weekend and she was very attentive l, friendly and social with us! My mom and I ordered the Crabmeat Bloody Mary's. There was not enough crabmeat at the bar, so Maria went to the back and made sure and made sure I got ALL of the crabmeat my drink required. It came with a skewer of crabmeat, olives, tomato and a TON of crabmeat inside the drink, in addition to their angry beans. You can order your Bloody Mary mild or spicy - but my mom, who has gone before warned me the spicy is SPICY. In addition to my crab cake Bloody Mary, we ordered the old bay easy peel shrimp which came with red onion, lemon and cocktail sauce. Delicious! I stopped in to give their crabcakes another try after being disappointed several years ago at their other location. I had their original blood Mary - which was simple and tasty. I loved their pickled green beans. The 8 oz crabcake was delicious and I loved their remoulqde. Mac and cheese side was great too. I'm so happy to add this back into my OC food rotation! read more

Wow. Just Wow. I have been coming to OC my whole life. I thought I had found all of the hidden gems. I am happy to report, I was wrong. Crabcake factory is wonderful! My husband and I both ordered a crab cake along side a snow crab leg dinner. Now before you write me off, I am a Maryland girl. My husband, "Mr. North Dakota", loves crab legs. I am picky. I'll be honest. I wasn't expecting them to be good. Most places we get them, are pretty sub par. I am thrilled to say they were succulent! They were absolutely wonderful! I have to talk about the crab cake. I ordered it because, I thought to myself, any place named Crabcake Factory should have a good Crabcake. It was fantastic! There was very little filler and lumps of crabmeat! OMG. I am planning on getting another one before we leave. I am so happy we decided to eat here! The service was on point. Stopped for their ayce crab legs and shrimp, 1st order came out were old water logged crabs, shrimp were mushy and soft, they brought another other out same thing, I asked if they had a steamer for their steamed food ,no answer. Next order came out ends still frozen, they took them back microwaved the crab legs then served them to me again. I said nevermind, it was obvious they don't do any steamed anything. The service was good, the hush puppies were good , so I ate hush puppies to fill up on for $60./meal. Will never be back. read more

Absolutely horrible food and service! Ordered the crab cake sandwich and another sandwich earlier in the week and the rolls were rock hard and stale. Fries were all little pieces and were cold. This was a takeout order. Had I been there to sit down and eat I would have sent all of it back. A total disgrace,and if you don't mind blowing close to $100 then you'll like it. I have mixed feelings, as a personal chef I had higher expectations. Seating was an issue, we were told that the wait was 30-40 minutes,we walked around and found 5 tables that were cleaned off and no one was sitting at and yet we were still told the wait was 30-40 min. The bar had availability so we sat at the bar. Absolutely love the bartenders. They were very personable. This made up for the non equity. I ordered the jerk chicken with nachos.... definitely was not expecting the citrus to over power the dish and the chicken just had jerk marinade on it. The balance was off. The cream of crab bisque was actually on point and great. The dirty rice had cut up breakfast sausage in it. My palate was expecting ground meat with Cajun seasoning......this was not the case. The ambiance was great at the bar. The bartenders need a raise. I observed them multitasking and were always giving great customer service. read more

I've only tried their crabcakes, and I would call them just average. When I want a really good crabcake I go down on 611 next to Food Lion and get one at Captains Galley. It's just no comparison. I haven't tried their other food, which may be fine, And it does have kind of a fun vibe at the bar, so if that's your thing you might enjoy it, but since their name is crab cake factory, I think they should have better crabcakes. read more

Got carry out with their famous crab cake pretzel or shall I say cream cheese pretzel with bits of crab meat. Not very good at all. Pretzel was over baked and hard. Do not recommend ordering this item. Will not order again. read more

Crab cake factory west is a quirky spot out on route 50 near west oc. We had the all you can eat crab legs deal they run on the weekends and I must say they were very good. If you like to sit at the bar make sure you ask for ALEX he will take very good care of you read more

The crabcakes were good and a good deal, but the Baltimore pit beef was terrible. The online menu listed it as rare with browning. I got something that tasted and appeared to have been sitting too long on a steam table. It was cut WITH the grain and was overcooked and tough. I had to remove it from the soggy bun and cut it into bite-sized pieces since I could not bite through it. They have a too large menu so I suggest they stick to what they do well and cut the menu down to what they can do right. read more

went there Saturday march 1, 2025. service and food was the worst I have seen in long time. we ordered ayce crab legs and water. was told we have to order drinks to get the ayce crab legs even thought it wasn't listed on their facebok flyer. They serve Pepsi and we don't like Pepsi products. I ordered a mountain due and server brought me a Pepsi. My wife ordered a strawberry daiquiri it tasted like a cheep popsicle not even close to strawberry, she took 2 sips and put it aside because was so bad. the floors where dirty and looked like they haven't been touched in several days. the shrimp and corn that is included had no flavor whatsoever. The first crab legs were very salty. The subsequent plates were less salty but had no real taste. They boiled them and as we opened them water poured out of them. The butter like substance that was served with the crabs legs was the only thing that gave them any flavoring. We did order several plates with hopes they would get better since we were there early. They didn't. The server would come and ask "another plate?" We barely got yes out before she was gone again. We couldn't even ask for more napkins because she was gone so fast. the servers where more concerned with socializing And sitting at a table then waiting on the few part that where in the place. What I assume was the manager was also sitting with the servers socializing. The place had an off smell like old fish. this was the second time going to this place, first time the experience was ok but this time it was Very bad. What can you say about a restaurant that is unable to switch the seafood in a pasta dish because "the shrimp and scallops are already mixed in?" (Perhaps that this is a frozen entree from a delivery service that they heat up??) And what do you say about a restaurant that specializes in crab cakes and serves them tepid on the outside and stone cold on the inside?? (This rates worst crab cake ever) All of the items we samples-except the french fries-were terrible, from the dry grey old tasting ribs covered in 2 cloying sauces to the chopped up brisket with no flavor and the house made chips that were so hard you have to worry about breaking a tooth. Service was great. Our sweet, helpful, upbeat young waitress was the highlight of our visit and we would never burden her for problems that were not fixable and certainly not her fault nor reduce her generous tip one cent.
