My wife, daughter, and I visited Crab Alley again this year, and unfortunately the reality didn't quite match the reviews. We ordered the seafood combo that included six hard-shell crabs, three pounds of snow crab legs, a half-pound of shrimp, corn, and hush puppies. The hard-shell crabs were decent, although they seemed slightly oversteamed. The meat in the legs was practically fused to the shell, making them difficult to eat. The snow crab legs were good, but the shrimp were noticeably undercooked, which made peeling them nearly impossible. There were a few bright spots. The beer was reasonably priced at $4.50 a pint, and the hush puppies were excellent--arguably the best part of the entire meal. The corn, however, was tough and seemed past its prime. For the roughly $145 we spent on the combo, I expected a better overall dining experience. Sadly, this seems to be the standard at many seafood restaurants these days: higher prices without a corresponding increase in quality. And while it's a minor issue compared to the food, the deck seating chairs were surprisingly uncomfortable and felt out of place for a restaurant charging these prices. We came here at happy hour times and got blue moon with an orange for $5 which was pretty good! The seafood itself was not so much. For a place the specialized in seafood it was quite underwhelming. The shrimp was a bit dry and not plump at all. The Crab legs weren't fresh, you couldn't taste the seafood in any of the seafood... it felt soulless and was likely frozen or something had to have been off. The muscles were nice and plump, it was a good dish, but again depth of flavour was not there. Props to the cooking with garlic butter to compliment the muscles, which made the dish better. Parking was nice and easy, you could look out to the boats and the water which was very nice! Happy hour drinks are definitely worth it if you want to have drinks with a nice view! Crab Alley features a cool little dive bar on the 2nd floor with views down the commercial harbor canal in West Ocean City. We usually come to the Berlin, MD area twice per year and typically go to all the same places. We decided to switch it up and try something new this time, and we were very happy with our visit. The bartender was very friendly. He gave a lot of advice and recommendations on the menu. He was attentive and constantly made rounds making sure everybody was taken care of. My dad and I stuck with light beer that night. My mom ordered an Orange Crush, and it was one of her favorites all trip. The happy hour also looks great although we were a little late for that. We also ordered an array of finger foods to split amongst the three of us. Clams Casino, Calamari, Fries, and Flounder Fingers (wasn't on the menu -- the bartender suggested going with fresh flounder instead of the rockfish -- great recommendation). The Clams Casino, differently than any other I've ever had, had classic ingredients but were uniquely topped with provolone cheese. The Fried Calamari wasn't bad but a little too breaded for my preference -- still nothing to complain about. We definitely enjoyed the first night of our trip in Maryland and that was largely thanks to some time spent at Crab Alley. Everything from the feel of the bar, to the service we received, the friendliness of staff and fellow patrons, and the views overlooking the canal, gives us reason to be adding this establishment to our rotation of bars/restaurants when we're back in the area. read more

We always go to Crab Alley when we are in Ocean City, multiple times a year. We were there on 7/7/26 with our family (a large party) and had a horrible experience. The restaurant was not full, and the server was not very attentive, forgot drinks and did not return to see if anything was needed or to tell us they were running behind. Our food came out at all different times, several of us were waiting 15-20 minutes from when the first group received their meals, the last person received his meal after all of us were finished. We've been here probably 10 times in the last 5 years - pretty much the only place you can get steamed crabs during the off season. Always have a good experience with the quality of the food (they always give you extra if the crabs are missing a claw or something), even though the quantity is limited (normal for off season). Completely lacking seasoning. For the quality and portion sizes, the prices are way too high. * Kids Meals: I ordered a kids fried shrimp with corn and a kids burger with applesauce. The shrimp tasted like pre-frozen, pre-breaded shrimp straight from a food distributor, not fresh at all. The corn was still in the husk, steamed, and served plain with no butter, no seasoning, nothing. The burger was just a pre-frozen patty with cheese, no sides. The applesauce was clearly straight from a jar. * Appetizers: The calamari portion was laughable. I've had better quality and much better prices elsewhere. What I got looked like scraps tossed together. * Adult Meal: I ordered the crab cake and fried oyster combo. The crab cake was smaller than the palm of my hand and greasy. The fried oysters were over-breaded, greasy, and unseasoned. The hush puppies were obviously frozen, dry, and bland. The coleslaw tasted pre-made, straight from a container. Looking around, I saw other diners with crab legs and seafood boils ,again, no seasoning, just plain steamed crab legs. The Atmosphere: It's clearly a tourist-focused spot: pretty location, but no effort put into food quality or flavor. The Staff: Friendly and pleasant. No complaints there. My disappointment lies entirely with the food and value. Overall: Sadly, this is one of those tourist traps that banks on its location and seafood label, without delivering fresh, flavorful meals. Three of us wanted to try a new place in Ocean City for crabs. Glad we found this place. They had all you can eat option as well as other platter/combinations. The trays that passed us looked really good. We are three trays of crabs. Only a couple of crabs weren't good, but overall they were packed with meat, not as sweet for this time of year. However, we are plenty and enjoyed the crabs. Corn on the cons were very juicy, but not as sweet. Butter helped. We did wait about 30 minutes for a table. Got seated at a two person Tae, but our server moved us to a bigger table before our food was served. She even offered the last corn on the cobs. Our 2023 visit! Not much changed here! A friendly staff greeted us and we were seated right away! I started my dinner with Maryland Crab Soup spicy delicious. I ordered the Salmon stuffed with Crab Imperial sides were green beans & hush puppies the Wife ordered Fried Shrimp Platter, which was a lightly hand breaded, with hush puppies corn & a Caesar Salad. We found the service to be extremely prompt and pleasant. They brought out quite large portions for everyone and the price seem to be right for the value. The only complaint I have about this place and perhaps this is for the entire of Bay Area is that they over, seasoned terribly the crab? I got a very generous in fact, decadent portion of King crab, but it was seasoned so heavily with old base seasoning that it was kind of not good cut back on your seasoning. Hubby ordered the fresh catch (blackened salmon) with green beans and hush puppies. I ordered the crab cake platter with cole slaw and potato salad. Everything was delicious, especially the salmon, cole slaw, and hush puppies. If I had to nitpick something, it would be the iced tea. We went here because the online menu had reasonable prices and we were looking for crabs that wouldn't drain our wallet. Unfortunately, the online menu wasn't updated and the prices were all double what we were expecting. Next, they ran out of crabs at 6:00, so we didn't get to order any. They close at 10:00 and ran out of crabs at 6:00. There were only 3 tables seated when we came, so that's really poor planning. The table next to us was loud and messy, and when they spilled a drink it took nearly fifteen minutes before anyone attempted to clean it up. Then they only used a bunch of paper towels and left a puddle of ice and lemonade in the aisle the rest of the times we were there. I almost fell. When our food came we weren't given utensils. I had to get up and go ask for them and napkins. We were only checked on once through the whole meal and I would've had to find someone to ask for a drink refill if we weren't so eager to get out of there. We would up paying in cash because the waitress didn't come back to take our card. The food was mostly good, and the only reason I gave them a second star. Last night July 1, 2025 my wife and I who are frequent guests at Crab Alley for 20 years. Over the past 4 years we have seen a decline in food quality and customer service with an increase in price. Last night we ordered the Crab Fest to two, our waiter said they only had small crabs so we got 1 1/2 of small crabs, which 1/2 lb of shrimp., 2 cup of soup and hash puppies and two ears of corn. The corn was cold, the crabs were cold not freshly steamed. Plus crabs were very small in size. We asked for a manager who told us due to the facts they had no medium crab they gave us 11/2 dozen. And since we were taking some home no discount. Good customer service would had a placed a sign At hostess desk about only small crabs and the hostess to inform customer about the only small crabs. NEVER Going back to this restaurant. Poor customer service and food quality. read more

Tried this place after another yelper put it in their OCMD eats. So glad I did! This place is located across from a marina so the view when you sit outside is gorgeous! Beautiful boats and water! Our server Jamie was attentive and pleasant throughout the meal. Everything I had was delicious and so fresh! I started with the crab dip which was full of crab meat and reasonably priced! Entree was snow crab legs with the local corn and Caesar salad. I could have done without the Caesar salad since it doesn't come mixed already but my husband got green beans and those were so fresh and tasty! When in Ocean City, one must eat steamed crabs. So we got some for dinner during our last night there. We originally were going to try another place but, asked someone for their recommendation and they said Crab Alley. Happy we listened to her. Immediately greeted and seated when we arrived. Our waitress was super cool, attentive, helpful and had a good sense of humor (she had us laughing a few times). We already had our mind set of steamed crabs, but had to figure out what way of ordering it made most sense. We ended up going with the All-you-can-eat option with sides, which were fried chicken, steamed shrimp, corn on the cob and hush puppies. We also got calamari as an appetizer. When I say we ate good - WE ATE GOOD! As expected, all the seafood items were fresh and cooked perfectly. When the crabs came out, his eyes got so big with excitement lol. Well seasoned, perfectly steamed and good size (think they only do one size for all you can eat). The fried chicken and hush puppies were also really good; I'm sometimes hesitant on eating hush puppies because of how they are cooked, but these were perfect. We also ordered a couple of drinks that were decent sized ones and mixed very well. All in all, a great spot for crabs and seafood. Camping weekend on the Assateague Island with a couple of friends and decided today we will sample local seafood after the steak over camp fire last night. Our first choice told us the wait would have been 1.5 hours without reservation, when we showed up before 6:30pm. This one was only 40 minutes wait so we stayed. Note to self, make reservations on Saturdays even if it was the end of the season. They only have mediums crabs available so we decided to try other options. My crab cakes were quite decent, hubby's flounder and my friend's rock fish, both broiled, were over cooked. But that's standard for most seafood restaurants in America. Chefs put safety first when you don't have fresh seafood caught in the morning on the same day. Can't really fault them! My green beans were cooked just right. My friend also liked her crab soup. Her husband like the large and meaty chicken wings. We will come back next year. read more

Only couple dozens of small ones left, so anyone came after us and one other table is out of luck. I was quite disappointed with my first and last visit to Crab Alley. I looked up the ratings for the this restaurant before visiting. They had 4 stars or more on multiple platforms, but my visit was only worthy of two stars. My family and I each ordered different menu items. I will say that our waitress, Grace, was nice and accommodating. The food, however, was a different story. I ordered the crab cake and scallops. My scallops were very chewy. The opposite of delicate. They were clearly overcooked and appeared to just be thrown on the plate. A few of the scallops looked like they were scraped off the grill. It was highly disappointing. The coleslaw was super creamy. It's not my preference to eat a bowl of mayo. I will say that I did enjoy the crab cake. There was not a lot of filler in the mix. But, half or more of my plate was hush puppies. With a cost of $42, I can say that somebody's pricing skills isn't mathing at this place. One of my party members ordered the flounder plate. The flounder was broken into pieces. Now, I've never seen flounder served like that. I mean cut up into fish nuggets and thrown on the plate. Plus, the piece of fish was smaller than the size of a whiting filet. The plate was sent back. I wish that I would've taken a picture, but the plate was sent back as soon as it was placed on our table. Bottom line here is that something about this place is different. There is no way that the Crab Alley I visited should have 4 or more stars. The lack of care and respect given from the chef at a seafood restaurant that is directly across from a body of water blows my mind. read more

They said that it's a feast for 2. There are also including 2 bowls of soup that are not in the picture. My 2 daughters loved the cream of crab soup and I like the Maryland crab soup that has a kick. 3 of us couldn't finish all the crabs, which the crabs are big and delicious and have lots of meats. The services are great. They constantly emptying the bucket of crab shells for us, and checking in how we are doing. It's very special experience. We've enjoyed the feast! read more
