One star is too many in my opinion. We waited 45+ minutes for mediocre at best food to come. Two meals and two kids meals 45 min later we couldn't get out of there fast enough. Brunch burger came out way overcooked with nothing setting it apart from anywhere else around here. The "gyro" was drowned in sauce was terrible. To say the least we will never be back and wish we had never stepped foot thru the door. Almost forgot to mention the live music haha what a joke terrible!!!! We don't get here often but when we do, we remember why we love it! Menu is not extensive but very well done! Anything we have tried has been delicious! We always sit at the bar and today Logan went out of his way to accommodate our needs and a very knowledgeable Bartender !!Live Music was great and unexpected surprise! Anyone around the Atlanta metro will know of Panos restaurants. Excellent food and service for many years. Pano and Pauls,, Buckhead Diner, Atlanta Fish market,Chops ,Pricci and more.These were always the place to go for special dinners of unmatched quality.So imagine our surprise,when we drove up to the little town of Jasper, for a dinner with friends at The Old Mulehouse .It was a choice from yelp that had the ambience we four liked. Also outdoor dining and live music there many evenings. I picked up the menu and was delighted at the variety of dishes.Then I saw the owners name..Pano Karatassos. I knew we were in for a treat, and were not disappointed one bit. On the porch we has a mountain view and were served by a great older waiter..John.The food was delicious. I had the Black bean burger, my wife enjoyed the falafel. Other treats were the excellent Cream Brulee, and the Baklavah. Some of the best I've ever had.If you live in Woodstock, Canton or nearby, take the short run up to this place .You will love it. read more

Sunday they only serve brunch (we love brunch). we ordered salads and added chicken on one and shrimp on the other (no mention of price we knew there would be an up charge for addition ). they charged 10$ for 3 oz of chicken and 12$ for 6 medium shrimp!!! this was not stated anywhere on the menu. Didn't expect or desire loud live music. Food was not hot enough and the bill was mixed with the next tables.

I don't mind loud, but you could get sound foam on the walls, and for cheap, for the folks who mentioned the acoustics. Mini heaters or A/C would be easy, too. The food: I understand having tabbouleh on the menu here might be considered weird to locals, but I wanted to try it as I am not a local (I did grow up in Georgia though) and love tabbouleh. Bad idea. It was almost completely void of the most popular ingredient, which in addition to adding flavor is great for digestion, parsley. There seemed to be hardly any lemon or oil either. I made the mistake of trying the Caesar with falafel here, too. I know if you live here you're thinking why would I do that, but if something is on the menu, it should be edible. The dressing, sadly, was a bland creamy disappointment. Add some lemon, garlic, and oil, and it could be a Caesar party. Take some pride in your work, and either take it off the menu, or make it better. If you're still reading, the other people I was with ordered a burger and fried green tomato sandwich, and they seemed okay. Also, if your compressor isn't working, and someone asks for a cold mug, you can put ice in a glass, fill it with water and let it sit for a couple minutes. Then simply wipe the outside of the glass so it's not too wet for guest to hold. But to bring a glass that's not cold, and not even say anything, until my mom mentioned it, is bad service. Or simply letting her know you didn't have cold mugs, and giving her the option, would have been a better gesture. This place could offer a unique, down home, above and beyond experience in Jasper, but it feels like everyone's heart isn't really in it. If you are going to challenge the restaurant market, you must create a better experience. read more

Another yelper was right, it could have used more seasoning but other than that the waitstaff was super friendly, and prompt, very cool restaurant space. We (a party of 4) came on a Saturday for an early dinner outdoors. We made reservations in advance, and were glad we did because it was pretty busy! There was live music outside, which was a bonus for having outdoor seating. The waitstaff were very sweet and efficient, and after we placed our order it came out in less than 10 minutes. We ordered the French onion soup, Greek "hush puppies" (falafel), and beet/potato soup as appetizers. The French onion soup was nice on a colder day, and the falafel sauce had an unexpected kick to it that worked well with the falafel. We ordered a veggie plate, chicken parm, veggie burger, and kale pesto pasta for our mains. The brioche bun of the veggie burger was a luxe touch and the fries were good, but the burger itself could have used a kick of flavor. The chicken parm was good but there was not a ton of sauce to go with it and it was covered in mostly cheddar instead of parm. The pasta was probably the best looking and tasting dish out of the 4. I'd say for the price and the quality of the food it's a good place to eat in jasper, but with a few alterations to the dishes it would be even more stellar. read more

We drove up from Atlanta to spend the day in Talking Rock and decided to have dinner here. It was a Saturday night so they had a live band which was actually pretty good! Our server was the Assistant Manager named Chandler. He was PHENOMENAL! One of the best servers I have ever had. My mom who is sensitive to things with a lot of sugar and myself who eats Gluten Free were astonished at how much care he put into making sure we had substitutes for the meal. Chandler even made my mom a special salad dressing with less sugar in it. It was DELICIOUS! The drinks were strong and very good. 2 people at our table had the soup and grilled cheese and they both raved how epic the grilled cheese was. I had a GF French onion soup and beet salad and that was even incredible. Then we had dessert and the crème brûlée was PERFECT! This restaurant had a very limited menu. So I ordered the $26 bronzed salmon for lunch. The top was well cooked, but the inside was totally raw. Part of the grits was lumpy. The green beans had too much tomato base that tasted like catsup. I could not finish this meal & would not recommend to anyone. However, I did enjoy the iced tea & atmosphere. Had a fantastic meal at Old Mulehouse. Started with a yummy Mule (only $7), then our table had the burger (10 out of 10), steak salad, giant pretzel (the pimento beer cheese was excellent) and macaroni and cheese. All were excellent, and well priced. To top off a great meal, we had the maple bacon cheesecake, which was out of this world. It was huge - we all shared it. Last week, as the parents of the groom, my husband and I had the honor to host the wedding reception for our son and his future bride the night before their wedding. What an absolute memorable experience it was. I am familiar with the ambiance of the restaurant, but my son was not. The next day he told me that he was so impressed with the location......talk about a great first impression The setup was beautiful and the event coordinator Chelsea takes pride in her role. She is prompt and has a beautiful attitude with her communication with the host and the party. The staff on schedule was Chandler and Riley, and they were always right there to assist the guests with any requests. Let's talk about smiles.....Chelsea, Chandler and Riley were always observing the room and smiling.....just so comfortable and friendly. The food was amazing and I am still raving on the beef. So tender and flavorable. The groom and his party took to go plates of leftovers and devoured that night at their cabin....lol. As for decor, I was able to decorate the event for an added personal touch of love to the event. As the wedding venue was 45 minutes away, I was rushing to get back and beat the wedding party so I could turn on all of my little battery operated votives and display my picture frames. What a moment of relief when I walked in and found that the event team had already turned them on for me!!! Just that small gesture meant so much to me. The next day I was thanked by so many people was in attendance that it was an absolute BEAUTIFUL rehearsal dinner experience. I'm not sure why this place only has 3 stars on Yelp because we just had lunch there and it was amazing. Pig wings, the hummus veggie bowl, fried chicken sandwich & flourless brownie for dessert. Along with some wonderful draft beers from Georgia. It was so good. And we kept saying this as each dish came out. And then we started wondering why we can't get food like this in Atlanta. Located in Jasper this place is a newcomer and a little outside of the box for the area but we truly hope it survives. We'll definitely be back! read more

Pretty lame. First time going, had dinner with some friends. The food was mediocre at best. I had the special pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw and a side of their bacon Brussels sprouts. My wife had a pretzel and a French onion soup. I had a beer and she had a coke. The sandwich was ok. The Brussels sprouts were nasty, I don't think I saw any bacon in it. The pretzel came with a cheese sauce that was very spicy. The soup was probably the best thing, mediocre. The coke had no fiz. Unfortunately that's probably one of the best and few restaurants up here. I won't go back.
