Old Mulehouse has a nostalgia-meets finger-licking-good cuisine in this eatery in quaint, downtown Jasper. Our daughter enjoyed a beer flight and we shared a very tasty, spicy pimiento chicken sandwich and a pimiento brisket Reuben. The temp/taste of both were spot-on and the extra crispy, hot fries were delicious. Worth the drive (especially if you combine antiquing in Jasper.)

Neighborhood tavern vibe out in Jasper/North GA. Love the drive out here, and love the food even more. Service is small town gracious and always properly attentive. I ordered the chicken caprese sandwich with tomato basil soup and my husband got the bourbon bacon burger with grits. Both delicious, and not a long wait for food (or table). We have sat on patio both times we have come, and were able to enjoy some local live music both times too. It was chilly out so we sat under a heater and I always really appreciate when businesses have those outside so that you can still enjoy the fresh air over a nice meal. Patio is pet friendly as well.

This Place was awesome! The inside of this place looked like an old factory. The food was amazing.

Stopped in at the Old Mulehouse with some friends after leaving the Jeep Fest in Jasper. We caught them at just before 3pm, so it was on the edge of Sunday Brunch and Sunday dinner menus, so the server waffles a bit between what to do. After the slight awkwardness, we did a mix between the 2 menus amongst the 4 of us. When the smoked salmon hash arrived for me, it smelled great and tasted great. It felt like it needed a little something on the side to complete the dish, but it was good enough. The other dishes looked good, and I really liked the abundance of fries on their plates. The industrial atmosphere inside was unique and appealing. Unfortunately, the spiral ductwork above the table was sweating, and I was getting a drop on my shirt and head about every 30 seconds; kind of a pain, but I just dealt with it for whatever reason. I do recommend stopping in to check these guys out, but they could use a little bit of work to move this establishment up the scale. JM

I went to this place 3 weeks ago and just had to go back. This time I had the trout entree. The trout tasted great. The ginger carrots tasted so good. I really didn't think the combo would taste good but it surprised me. The grits were nice and creamy. The server was great. The place is well decorated.

This place was so fun and the food was amazing. We sat on the nice patio and there was a live music situation happening which people seem to enjoy. The server was really cool looking to you. I enjoyed his little style. He enjoyed it so much we went back the next day for brunch.

Super cool restaurant & event space!! Great bar, cold drinks & most staff smile. Had to wait just a few for our patio table, so got drinks at that bar to start. 5 adult beverages was around $45. Sat on the cute patio (wish I had a pic). Relaxed & enjoyed my company. We were guests, and our family said they come all the time- They love it! Oh, my son was here before too & liked it a lot. Food was really good! I had fish & chips (no pic). Fish could have been seasoned a little more, but lite & delicious!! The FRIES are amazing!!! My guys got a grilled brisket sandwich & my sister-in-law got a salad & Gyro- VERY GOOD said everyone!! I see they have event space. I'd rent if needed & lived closer!! Parking may be a walk- lots all around, but not on property. A cute town setting. Do some shopping when you are finished with your great meal. I'd love to go back when in town!! I'm satisfied!

A very charming unassuming little boutique store front with some tee shirts and souvenirs when you first walk in. Then you whisper the magic password and the gentleman escorts you through a narrow little doorway, a vestibule and door then opens to a perfectly recreated 1920's prohibition speakeasy. The motif is perfect from vintage art work on the wall to the hanging chandeliers and the big leather couches and chairs all in a very dark lighting. There is one way glass so you can see whoever comes into the store ( police or significant other) but they can't see you! Lol. And you can't leave through the front where you came in. You are guided to the back of the establishment to the back door which lets out into a narrow gangway then to the alley. I think Al Capone himself was going to jump out at me. lol. The bartenders/ mixologists further raise your experience by providing enjoyable banter and well made cocktails. Espresso Martini's and a Donut Raspberry Cheesecake were the drinks and dessert of choice and both were amazing. If you wind up going I suggest for you gals, a flapper dress with the beads and sequins with a cocoon coat and some tee strap heels. Guys your fanciest fedora and some two tone lace up oxfords. Either way you're gonna have a Roaring 20's great time. Let me know if you're interested and I'll tell the password or yiu you have dinner upstairs at The Roof, tell them you want the password for The Door.

Waitress was friendly and made it very clear not to touch her. She explained that she has an allergy to Mango Habanero sauce. Mango Habanero is one of the chicken wing sauces. We ended up having a conversation about allergies with the waitress. Their chicken wings are juicy and you get many sauces to choose from but my favorite meal was the Mahi Reuben Sandwich which was fantastic. Sweet, tangy and creamy so much better than corned beef. It did not taste fishy at all and the rye bread had the best buttery crisp edges. River Street Tavern is cozy, casual and it has a compact lay out. You get to relax and can have a conversation over a few beers and good food. Place gets busy but is not loud. Whether you're one of the locals or just passing by, leave your mark by pinning a dollar bill to the ceiling.

Love the dollar bill theme stapled on the ceiling and around every nook and cranny of the tavern. Love the support of local artists where masterpieces are displayed for sale. Our waitress was friendly but service was a little slow. Apparently she was allergic to the mango habanero wing flavors we ordered so only really saw her in the beginning and at the end of service. Food was good and the mahi Reuben is a must try as the unique combination actually works very well. Chicken and waffle was also good as the chicken was super crispy and tender and the bacon maple syrup hit the spot! Wings were crispy even when heavily sauced. Definitely will return for the Mahi Reuben!

"There's something magical about rooftops. You feel like you're in 'Mary Poppins."…read moreGeorge Clarke There really is something special about being on a rooftop on a perfect summer evening, and it's great to have it right in downtown Sugar Hill. I would like to say I planned the perfect date, but as some of the best things in life, this was just an impromptu visit to cap off an already great evening. Outside of being on the rooftop, the bar itself is upscale yet approachable, service was fast and friendly. Being a bit of a self engrandized home bartender I'm a bit critical when out of my home lab, but their Smoked Old Fashioned wasn't bad. ("Wasn't bad" really means very good.") While I don't love the prices and hate paying a cover charge, when you throw in live music, a great vibe, and a view, I can't really complain. The owner made an announcement that whoever tipped the band $10 would get a free drink, and since most drinks were over $15 I thought that was cool on many levels. Will definitely be back to The Rooftop!

We walked around and finally ran into a waitress who told us to sit anywhere we wished inside or outside. The only area festive was inside a closed igloo and no heaters were on outdoors which was just a tad too cool for me despite the super nice weather that day. It would have been so to sit outside but without the warmth of the heaters we headed inside. We placed our order and explained we were just there for a pre-dinner drink and wanted to check out the venue so we didn't leave our tab open but we were quickly served the fabulous taking drinks on their menu(s). The Old Fashioned was on the regular menu and the Russian was on their seasonal tabletop menu. Server was very nice and took photos for some ladies we met. The only reason I can't give them a 5 star is they claim they are big on hospitality but yet we were not acknowledged upon arrival. Many restaurants and even some retail stores have a way to ensure they say hello/welcome immediately when you enter and without a hostess - the mindset should be that the bar or wait staff have a way to immediately say hello or welcome so those who have never been feel welcomed as well as those who frequently come. It would be nice to have a more festive decor for the holidays but that didn't affect my review; just a statement to say that the entire Sugar Hill area was pumping and themed with the holiday spirit then we walked in the only area decorated was not even accessible nor was it offered as an option to enjoy.

The burger and tater tots were also very good. The menu offers a wide variety of specialty burgers with plenty of customization options, including grass-fed beef for a small upcharge. Fair prices for the quality and quantity of food--definitely left in a food coma. Service: Service was efficient and the food came out well-prepared. No major issues during the visit. Atmosphere: Located in downtown Dahlonega, making it easy to explore nearby shops and dessert spots before or after your meal. The tavern has a darker, eclectic vibe with artwork, punk music, and a slightly edgy feel. The décor fits the restaurant's origins and personality, though the lighting--including in the restrooms--is quite dim. Parking downtown can be somewhat difficult during busy times.

I asked for some Tabasco sauce to help make the sandwich more palatable to eat, instead of being brought a bottle like most restaurants would give you they gave me a condiment cup full of Tabasco sauce, too much for anyone to use. When the bill came for an extra 50 Cent charge for it, I didn't fight it because it was 50 Cent and I just wanted to leave, but it was frustrating. I've never been charged for condiments / hot sauce at a restaurant I'm giving two stars because the server was nice and patient while we figured out what my little one needed to order she had to come back to the table a couple times, but they should have mentioned the surcharge for the hot sauce at the time that I requested it. Would I come back here again for a meal, no. Would I consider coming back to try a cocktail, maybe, only because overheard the bartender speaking to some patrons quite passionately about the flavors which they put together so I would give this part. Another chance even though the kitchen has lost my confidence,
