Every time I'm in Dahlonega, this is my go to for food! They have incredible burgers and drinks! They usually get crowded and have a big wait but the wait is worth it! Quick, friendly service with a cool atmosphere!

    Kalettes

We tried Spirits based on the yelp reviews, and were not disappointed. You know it's a good spot when there are no empty tables at 6:30 PM. Friendly and homey was the vibe. We ordered the kalettes and the dr feel Gouda burger. What a unique taste on both items. The burger was juicy and filling. Our server, Mia, was incredible. She was so helpful and pleasant to talk with. It will be difficult for us to try other restaurants after eating here. A definite revisit! If not this trip then the next.

Great food! We had the Mac n Cheese bites and Brussels and both were delivious! Then several burgers and everyone loved each one. Our table had the Bearded Goat Burger, the Dragon's Breath and the Dr Feel Gouda and all were delicious! If you get tots, ask to add the cheese sauce! I do urge you to call ahead and put your name down - it's so good there is usually a wait!

Ate here twice during a business trip as many of the local places are closed on Monday and/or Tuesday. The food was great both times. They have a tremendous bourbon selection if that's your thing. Sat at the bar both times and the bartenders were friendly and helpful. The Mr. Feel Gouda burger was excellent, and they actually cooked it to my order (medium rare). Most places end up going at least one category more well done than what I ask for. Good rotation of eight draft beers, most local. It's not inexpensive, but not outrageous either. People were very friendly and chatty at the bar. This is probably more a reflection of the charm of this southern town, but it was enjoyable nonetheless

Came here today for lunch on a whim after hiking. The outside had some seating to wait for a table as they were quite busy. Once inside it was cozy and active. I thought the menus and food options had plenty for anyone to like. I read reviews online before I ordered and everyone said they had the best burgers. I wouldn't say they're the best however probably the best in Dahlonega. Would come back here if one of my friends in Dahlonega was craving a burger. Service was quick and efficient and very to the point to flip tables. Other wise was a very good time

So we were recommended to this spot by our bartender at Big Creek Distilling when we were up here in January. We went then and this weekend we went back again for lunch before we toured the Dahlanega square. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table at 12:30 on a Saturday, but they notify you by text so you can walk around the nearby shops while you wait. These burgers are just awesome so many options. I had the Dragons breath this time and it was perfect. Their horseradish mayo is great! We tried trash pile this time for an appetizer and that was nearly a meal in itself! The wife out an Irish Whisky cocktail this time called a Spiritual Tea She really enjoyed it, very light and refreshing. Definable a good spot to stop while you are touring around up here.

Spirits is a must whenever I'm in Dahlonega. They never disappoint. Even though it is usually packed, it still has a cozy vibe. Our waitress was super nice and gave us the specials while we tried to figure out what we wanted. My friend went with the Fungi Philly special. She was happy to see it had both mushrooms and beef. She said it was really good but more mushroom forward than she was expecting. I had the trash pile as my main meal. The tots were perfectly crispy. The beef was well seasoned. It's the trash pile that keep me coming back. My girlfriend had a Bluesion chicken sandwich. She said it was cooked perfectly and super flavorful.

Had the burger with onions and bacon. AMAZING!!!

Small place with great food. The Mac and cheese bites were amazing. Had the burger with onion straws and bacon and it was delish. Would definitely go back.

The Bleuseon Burger has been one of my favorites!

Is there loud music played on Monday nights?

Not sure about Monday. It's a bar, so it's very loud. Don't waste your time with this place. The service is a big zero!

I would like to say I planned the perfect date, but as some of the best things in life, this was just an impromptu visit to cap off an already great evening. Outside of being on the rooftop, the bar itself is upscale yet approachable, service was fast and friendly. Being a bit of a self engrandized home bartender I'm a bit critical when out of my home lab, but their Smoked Old Fashioned wasn't bad. ("Wasn't bad" really means very good.") While I don't love the prices and hate paying a cover charge, when you throw in live music, a great vibe, and a view, I can't really complain. The owner made an announcement that whoever tipped the band $10 would get a free drink, and since most drinks were over $15 I thought that was cool on many levels. Will definitely be back to The Rooftop!

Unfortunately, that excitement disappeared pretty quickly. We waited approximately 10 minutes without being acknowledged. A woman standing behind us who had arrived after we did was approached by the bartender and had her order taken first. I'm not going to speculate about the reason, but sitting there and watching it happen certainly didn't make us feel welcome. At that point I decided not to order anything because I already had doubts about staying. My wife ordered a glass of white wine that was supposed to be a 6 oz pour. When it arrived, we both questioned the amount. I even noticed other glasses of wine at a nearby table that appeared to have considerably larger pours. I've included a photo so people can judge for themselves. We weren't looking for special treatment because it was our anniversary. We simply expected the same basic level of acknowledgement and service as everyone else. It's unfortunate because we came in genuinely excited to try a local place and celebrate together. The atmosphere has potential, but our first impression of the service made us feel like we'd be better off spending our anniversary somewhere else.

When the special of the night is "Alfredo... with chicken, pork, or steak, take your pick!" and it's also already on the menu... this is a red flag. I quickly started scanning the menu for something that might not give me food poisoning. When the food is stored in outside freezers and there's a horde of live cats running around everywhere... it's a red flag. I love good bar food, but this was not good. My wife's Philly Cheesesteak tasted like propane gas. My chili dog was on par with something you might get at a junior high football game. Even my kids rejected their chicken tenders, which is saying something. Just 100% industrial, frozen, crap. The $13 margarita was even bad. It tasted like bad sour mix and may have had a drop or two of tequila in it. Giving one star for the server, who tried her best. And the location on the river was very nice. Service was slow too though. This was the worst $85 "dinner" I've had in a very, very long time. For the love of god, reduce the size of your menu and do a few things really well. No one wants a bunch of frozen entrees at a bar.

The motif is perfect from vintage art work on the wall to the hanging chandeliers and the big leather couches and chairs all in a very dark lighting. There is one way glass so you can see whoever comes into the store ( police or significant other) but they can't see you! Lol. And you can't leave through the front where you came in. You are guided to the back of the establishment to the back door which lets out into a narrow gangway then to the alley. I think Al Capone himself was going to jump out at me. lol. The bartenders/ mixologists further raise your experience by providing enjoyable banter and well made cocktails. Espresso Martini's and a Donut Raspberry Cheesecake were the drinks and dessert of choice and both were amazing. I ordered Blackened salmon with couscous. It was good, cooked properly, but when I tasted my sisters trout, I wished I had ordered it. Panko crusted with collard greens. It was the best. Crispy on the outside, tender on inside and not a real fishy taste. All had a bit of a balsamic juices had seeped into all from the collard greens, which was good but prefer more savory flavors. Looking through photos here, last time I had a steak that was really good on one end on ok on the other. It's not exactly a crudités but the appetizer we had was good and honestly too big. The pickled vegetables were too sour for me to eat all that. The menu is different every day and you do not know in advance what it will be so good luck! There will usually be a couple things on the menu to satisfy most everyone. The restaurant itself is in what appears to be a remodeled old house. It is cozy but not tight or cramped.
