I visited to look at their shoe department for a holiday gift. Don helped me and I could not have nicer things to say about him! He got me a variety of bean boot styles, heights, and sizes to try on to truly see which I liked best. After my research was complete, he found us back in the store to have me try one more boot that had my preferred size, width, height, and was on major sale! He never applied pressure for me to buy and actually recommended I put it on a hold if I wanted to think about it. He made sure I was well informed of my options and went above and beyond for me. I ended up coming back Sunday and bought the boots! LL Bean has some great products where I've bought blankets, flannels, sweaters, and slippers previously but Don's service was some of the best I've experienced in a while.

Today she realized that she was missing one of her earrings, so we looked all over the house, but couldn't find it. After thinking about it, she thought that she might have lost it when she tried on the sweater in the fitting room, so she decided to go back to the store to find out if anyone had found it. After looking in the dressing room, she was offered assistance by an employee named Cathy,. After explaining her problem, Cathy told her that someone had found her earring late yesterday afternoon, and that it had been secured for her. We are very grateful for the help from Cathy and whoever else had found her earring! Thank you SO MUCH! John & Jenny

I remember when Burlington was known only for coats, but now they carry a little of everything. Not…read moreonly coats but shoes, clothes, accessories, makeup, luggage, pet items, toys, kitchen accessories, home accessories, bath, bedding, and packaged food like candy, spices, etc. This particular location is not the best organized. And some of the employees who work here struggle with English so they aren't as helpful when you have a question (unless you use Google Translate). The prices though are amazing. If you find what you need it is very affordable, and they do carry brand name merchandise.

This Burlington location has been around for years, so I'm honestly surprised I'm the first to…read morereview it -- but here we go. It's is a very large discount retail store with inventory across many categories, from clothing and accessories to home goods and personal care. It's comparable to a Ross or TJ Maxx. I enjoy shopping at stores like this because you can usually find solid bargains if you're willing to look. They carry a wide range of fashion styles at reasonable prices. Most items feel fairly unique -- you're not typically seeing racks of the exact same piece. At most, there might be a couple duplicates per size. So how does it compare to Ross or TJ Maxx? For clothing, I like Ross & Burlington's prices and selection. Burlington carry a good mix of styles and sizes. However, for skincare, personal care items, and casual jewelry, I prefer TJ Maxx. And for home décor, HomeGoods is still my go-to because they offer the widest variety. One thing Burlington does especially well during the holidays is gift wrap -- they offer extensive selection of wrapping paper for $8 -10 and these some of the largest rolls you'll find for that price! Now for the part that makes me cautious. About a year ago, I returned an item on behalf of my mother that was past the 30-day return window. The associate processed the return without clearly explaining the outcome beforehand. When I looked at the receipt, I saw that we were credited less than half of what was originally paid. I asked why, and she explained that once an item is returned past 30 days, the store credit / refund amount is at the store's discretion and may be significantly reduced. I understand that businesses have policies. However, I looked carefully at the signage, the receipt, and the posted return information at the register, and nowhere did it clearly state that late returns could result in a drastically reduced credit at their discretion. I even spoke with a manager, who confirmed this was corporate policy. That's fine -- but it should be clearly communicated and disclosed BEFORE completing the transaction. Had I known we would receive less than half back, I likely would have kept the item for my mother instead. We didn't need such a lowly refund. But once the return was processed, it couldn't be undone. I had return-remorse and would have preferred to not essentially "pay" the store more than half of what we originally paid to TAKE BACK inventory. I would have just kept the item instead if I was offered a choice and was told ahead that I'm getting only $3 back because for that price, I'd just keep the item and find a use for it. That experience didn't feel transparent, and it left a bad impression. Since then, I've recalibrated my expectations. I still shop here occasionally, but I'm very mindful of return timelines. I have noticed that they now display clearer signage near the checkout explaining that late returns may receive reduced credit/refund, so that's definitely an improvement in communication. Overall, this is still a solid place to hunt for bargains, especially for clothing and seasonal items. Just be very aware of the return policy and timelines so there are no surprises. A couple additional tips: There is a fitting room area toward the back of the store, but it's often closed. There's a sign directing you to the fitting rooms near the front entrance, somewhat hidden behind the purse section (see photos). It's a small setup with two adjacent rooms, and you're limited to six items at a time. Depending on the day, there may be a wait. On my most recent visit, I chose not to wait and brought items home to try on instead. Bonus tip: If you register your phone number in their system, you get an additional 15 days for returns (a total of 45 days). They can also process returns using your phone number without a physical receipt. There isn't a points rewards system, but those are the main perks.

A few years ago I purchased some women's clothing from their catalog/online and the quality was good (given the premium prices), delivery was in the expected time. Unfortunately, three months ago, I purchased three pieces of clothing that I had specifically selected for scheduled events. I ordered in plenty of time to receive the items well in advance. The items were each sent separately, each literally months past my order date. They never sent any emails or texts alerting me to a delay. I kept looking at my order online and seeing the expected ship date moved weeks into the future, over and over again. No communication to me at any point. I called customer service repeatedly. The first person told me there was a delay because they were moving to a different distribution warehouse. I complained about lack of communication and she said she would alert someone more senior. Of course nothing happened. After I returned the first two items, I didn't need the third which was a matching piece. It was already listed as delayed another month or more. I called customer service to cancel that order. He said he would cancel it. I said I want to ensure my card was credited. He kept saying they don't charge until it's shipped. Sure enough, today, weeks later, this last item that I had canceled shows up. Now I have to return it. There is a return fee of $9.95 deducted from the credit for each item - even though it was their fault. I will never purchase from them again.,

To my surprised, about six weeks later, both orders were received. I sent them back in the same bag. Was told they didn't receive the one item, even though I received credit for the one order. Finanlly, the customer rep agreed to refund my money but also charged me a processing fee of $9.95. I will never order from Soft Surroundings again.
