Chicken fried rice w/o veggies and plantains
    Jillian S.

Excellent place to stop for a meal while in Selma, particularly if you have a picky family. Old North State Food Hall is full of a variety of restaurants. We have eaten at Bowl and Bubble, Aroma De Cuba, and Chios. Here are our reviews for each place: Bowl and Bubble: delicious poke bowls, fruit tea, and boba milk tea! My poke bowl was made incorrectly at first. Before I realized, the employee informed me of her error and had already packaged rice separately to accompany it (since it was assembled over a salad rather than rice). It is pricy, particularly for the beverages; $13.50 for poke bowls, $6 for fruit tea, and $7 for boba tea. However, the poke bowl can easily be two meals. Portion sizes are reasonable and we enjoyed each of the items. Aroma De Cuba: we ordered chicken empanadas and yuca fries from here. The yuca fries were great and so was the pastry of the empanada. Unfortunately, we did not really like the empanada filling. After ordering, you get a pager that goes off when your order is ready. This was convenient since I walked around the food hall while waiting. Chios: the employees here are friendly and helpful. We ordered the chicken arroz chaufa without veggies ($15.99) and plantains ($6). The portions are large so the fried rice was easily multiple servings. We enjoyed the flavor of both dishes. Overall, we enjoyed eating here since the food was good and choices were plentiful. Plus there is ample seating and parking. We recommend this food hall to others!

First off visited Nai Thai since the place I ate at last year was no longer there. The Pad Thai was fast but not the best I had ever had and the portion size was appropriate. No option of spice level and it was not spicy at all. Not a lot of shrimp either. The Shrimp cakes were a new try for me as I had never heard of them. They were different but not at all like crab cakes. Basically overly breaded shrimp. The canned Thai tea was also a first and was actually not bad. I was not offered a cup or glass to put it in and when I asked for one I was told I needed to use the tiny water cups at the fountain. So service was not friendly but the food makes up for it. The food hall is a great venue and not out of the way. Lots of parking and well lit. Several choices once inside. Overall not a bad experience and the food was good for Smithfield which is not a foodie locale.

We recently traveled to Selma, NC to head to Dewaynes. During our visit, we decided that we needed to get our grub on so we went to the Old North State Food Hall. Located just off of RT 70 and I-95, the food hall was clean and convenient to the highways that passed it. I did find it a bit cavernous and there could have been more seating available as there weren't many tables. I did get a great sandwich from Aroma De Cuba and a tasty coffee from Joco. I will write their own reviews separately as I dont want to mar their review scores. Overall, the visit was "OK". Would I stop again if I were in the area, sure. Would I make a special trip, probably not.

We drove about 45 minutes to enjoy the experience. It's located right off of I95 and exit 97. The place is clean and well maintained and is a foodies paradise. You have a variety of food to choose from: burgers, curry, pizza and my fav Cuban food! We walked around and we all chose different options. All of the kiosks have rating and most were welcoming and gave great service. I highly recommend the food from Aroma de Cuba. The couple that runs it are awesome and very helpful when making decisions about what to eat. If they recommend it, GET IT! I ordered the Cubami and yuca fries. It was AMAZING! All in all would recommend a trip out to the food hall.

QR code to order and have brought to your table. Nah, it still has defunct restaurants on it.

A good variety of restaurants, cuban, fried chicken, burgers, bbq poke bowls, Jamaican, pizza, ice cream, and Tavern that sells only alcohol, no food. Opened summer of 2022, three vendors closed so far, mexican, Mac House, and greek. Our first visit was on a Sunday when it was "new". Out of everything at each restaurant. No forks, r any utensils, straws, tea, slow service, etc. Not enough workers, and evidently, the owner (business manager?) and the management of each place could care less. We waited over 30-45 min for food. There is no staff to clean tables or refill soda machines or tea Gave it another try today, months after that initial visit. No soy sauce or other ingredients for poke bowl. Iced tea, yuck. Must be from a bag. Definitely not freshed brewed, only other options are Pepsi products or water from the soda machine. At $3 each, no thanks. I'll get it at McDonald's on my way out. Plan $10-15 each entree, and the aforementioned $3 per drink. Perhaps they expect travelers on 95 to keep them in business, as the locals won't pay those prices very often.

I'm a little surprised at some of the shade that is thrown in reviews for this establishment. Let's put things in perspective, this is a group of restaurants that are on the side of interstate 95. This is the type of place I would definitely take my family, because my wife and I who are a little more adventurous Indian, or Cuban, or Island fair. The kids who are a little less adventurous, can have pizza, or a burger, or fried chicken. That's the genius in the establishment, there's something for everyone. There's even a pub serving alcohol. Everything was incredibly clean, food service was really fast, and the staff at the Baris restaurant was very friendly. The bathrooms were clean. Everything was well kept, and well lit. And there was some amazing art showing the entirety of North Carolina throughout the food hall. The Cuban sandwich, empanada, and croquetas were the second best that I've had in my life. The best place being in Florida where they didn't speak English. If you're passing through and looking for something, you definitely won't regret stopping here.

Cuban sandwich with Yuca fries, yum!

We tried the hotdogs and the Cuban food. Excellent! The place is nicely kept. Outside there's plenty of EV Destination Chargers and a place for dogs. Just 5 minutes away from Carolina Outlets. Service is self-device: you order and they give you a beeper when it's ready. They have hot dogs, Cuban food, Indian Curry, Thai food, Pizza, and a tavern! Worth your time, your stomach will be happy and you too! It's a casual and relaxed place, you can chill a bit after a long drive or after shopping at the outlets. We'll be back!

Fun food selections, clean tables, restaurants, and restrooms. Fair prices and great service!

The Old North State Food Hall is an ok place to eat if you can't find a better option in the area. The hours are listed as it opening at 7am but at 10:30 the restaurants were not open. The building was open but you just couldn't order. They might need to adjust the opening time till 11am or clarify this on the website. I ate at CockADoodleMoo. I had the pulled pork sandwich. I liked that I could pick if I wanted vinegar based; tomato based or mustard based sauce. I just expected the food to be hot rather than luke warm. It must have been sitting out too long before I was paged. The drink station was out of ice and one of the iced teas so they hadn't prepped that for the day yet. I don't see a return visit in the future but maybe the other vendors are better.

When you travel with hungry picky eaters, food halls are a bonus! stopped in to check out the food hall. I was pleased to see a little variety and more options being opened. Food hall is bright, clean and lots of seating available. We opted for Cuban and it was delicious.

    Lamb curry.

Stopped for a break from I95. Like the concept. I had the Curry in a hurry Lamb with garlic Naan and Samosas. Wife had pork, beans with rice from Aroma de Cuba. Both plays came out quickly. Food was well prepared but seasoned for an American pallet. Bathrooms were really clean which is a blessing for I95.

Carolina Gourmet hotdogs and Blackberry lemonade

Stopped at the Old North State on my drive home. Specifically I had Hotdog Bar's gourmet hotdogs. I had a pair of their Carolina Dogs and a Black berry Lemonade. It was all delicious! I highly recommend. Great couple (I'm guessing the owners) took care of me.

This place is barely hanging on. Way overpriced for gourmet cafeteria food. A few survivors but I can imagine rent is to high!

Went to Mr. Outrageous and the chicken Philly was so meaty and delicious. Recommend it and the deep fried ribs were amazing.

I went with a rose and cranberry lemonade that was a drink special, and the bubble waffle, and added strawberries and bananas. The bubble waffle intrigued me as I had never had one before. It is a honeycomb waffle popular in Hong Kong. It is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It looks like bubble wrap, which is hard to tell as mine was covered in strawberries and bananas. I enjoyed the texture and flavors of it. The Gilded Pear is a great addition if you're looking for somewhere to grab a quick bite to eat.
