Site 523, the best site in the campground...

My favorite campground!!! We are teachers and spend the summer camping and always end our summer here. Friendly staff, clean park, close to the beach, quiet, and family friendly.

    The sites are decent sized.

We loved it here. Our neighbors were friendly and it's close to a lot of fun places so explore and eat. Close to Old Orchard Beach, Scarborough, and South Portland. We had a pull through with full hookups.

Oh my goodness I could not recommend this place more. Me and my fiancé (26 years old) were met by the friendliest people at registration. The amenities were very clean. Hot tub and pool were great. Close knit to your neighbors so not a whole lot of privacy but all the entertainment.

The prices are very reasonable and the campground has security, trash pick up, trolley service to the pier and most importantly: super clean bathrooms and showers.

The amenities are excellent, and the location is hard to beat. Being within walking distance of the…read morebeach and having a free trolley to the pier made getting around easy and enjoyable. The staff was outstanding, friendly, helpful, and genuinely pleasant throughout our stay. That said, the campground feels noticeably more crowded than it did a couple of years ago. The former ropes course has been removed and replaced with additional campsites, cabins, and RV spots. While I understand the need to grow, the extra density has taken away some of the charm and space that made the campground feel more family friendly. Traffic was another concern. There seemed to be more golf carts and vehicles than before, often moving too quickly through the campground. With limited traffic calming measures, I didn't feel as comfortable letting kids ride their bikes around as I did on previous visits. Noise was the biggest issue. The train passing through at night wasn't ideal, but it was manageable. More disruptive was a large group of young adults camping nearby who partied until after 2 a.m. both nights. Between the late night noise, and a car alarm that sounded for an extended period overnight, getting a good night's sleep was nearly impossible. Overall, this is still a campground with great amenities, a fantastic location, and exceptional staff. However, the increased crowding, traffic, and late-night noise have made it feel less family oriented than it used to, especially in the tent camping areas.

It comes though about 3 times throughout the night and literally shakes the ground. Be sure to not to camp near the railroad tracks!! Weekends are packed and it's wall to wall people. There are so many rental trailers and alot of seasonal permanent trailers! As with any beach scene you have alot of people who are there to party, the campground has its share of loud rude campers. If quiet is what you're looking for, this probably wouldn't work for you. I will say the playgrounds are very nice and the pools are very nice. It's very close to the beach which is convenient. For a camping site with electric and water I paid $129 a night in the middle of July from Wednesday through Monday.

Without the summer crowds, the beach felt quiet and serene. I could walk for miles along the sand with only the sound of the waves and the gulls for company. The pier was closed, but it was still nice to see it up close and I can imagine how lively it must get in the warmer months. A few local spots were still open and the locals I met were friendly and welcoming! The chilly air gave the town a calm, coastal feel that was really refreshing. If you're looking for the classic seaside excitement, definitely come back in the summer. But if you enjoy peaceful walks, ocean views, and a slower pace, Old Orchard Beach in the off-season has its own quiet beauty.

The West Grand area is especially nice with clean bathrooms, easy access to the sand, and plenty to do nearby. Staying right on the beach at places like Ocean House or Beechwood is ideal. It is so much better than commuting in and out each day. There is something for everyone, big kids, little kids, and kids at heart. From the water to the boardwalk, you will never be bored. Just remember, like at any beach, keep a close eye on the little ones in the waves. If you are not staying overnight, be prepared for parking fees ranging from 20 to 40 dollars per day. But once your feet hit the sand, it is worth every penny. Old Orchard Beach has that classic seaside charm that makes you want to come back year after year like we do.

I want to first say that the location of this campground is ideal but that's about the only thing…read moregood about this campground.... My husband and I were tent camping at Ne're beach. We camp very frequently and do not need a luxury spot but we were shocked when we arrived at this campground. We paid 55 dollars for what we assumed would be a nice site..The tenting area is a teeny tiny area where they shove 6-7 spots into a gated off area. The spots are only big enough for your tent your vehicle and 2 chairs if you squeeze in. Neighboring spots are so close you can hear all of their conversations and privacy is non existent. The close quarters meant that you could not even enjoy your fire. One of the sites didn't have a firepit and there was vomit by another! We met some great neighbors from Canada and were having some nice conversations when dun dun dun.. We were approached by I assume the park owner threatening to kick us out!! Twice! Outrageous. If you want to visit the Pier at Old Orchard beach make sure to avoid Ne'Re beach campground. However if you'd like to pay 55 dollars for a tiny camp site with neighbors and campground employees up your ass- well- this is the place for you.

They aren't afraid to ask that people keep it down at night, don't tolerate kids drinking at all hours and are a true family campground.
