Amazing pizza that shares walls w great beer - a match made in heaven!!…read more Stopped here after visiting Shelburne Farm (only minutes away). Was able to easily place an order online but you can also order at the counter. BYOB or bring your meal to Fiddlehead Brewery which shares the same wall. They can even "delivery" your pizza to fiddlehead for you. I had the seasonal Surf & Turf pizza - olive oil base, four cheese blend, scallops, bacon, parsley, lemon zest. I cannot say enough good things about this pizza. Crust was great, the pie itself was super flavorful, and cooked to perfection. If you enjoy scallops do yourself a favor and order this before summer is gone and it's off the menu!! They offer a huge variety of customizations, including GF crust which was appreciated for my spouse. Even if you don't care about the (great!) beer next door you can't go wrong ordering pizza here with endless options and delicious speciality pizzas!!

The BBQ style was tasty however, the rub and buffalo wings were not. As for their pizza, the sauce was thick and not very flavorful. The crust was crispy and had a nice texture. Despite my rating of 3 stars this place does a heavy take out service... so I'm sure it's a popular choice for many... just not my NY style pizza. The wait time for a Saturday 5pm order was about 2 hours.

Fantastic 1st stop on our way to Burlington. Very clean, well designed space. 12:30 on a Friday and…read morethe place was not very busy and we headed right to the bar to sit. Very friendly service that had us sipping on locally sourced craft beer right away. Very reasonably priced flight which had a pilsner, a pale, an IPA and a stout on nitro. All were solid. The place smelled so incredible since a large tray of smoked wings were fresh out of the smoker, so we had to order up those, along with their fantastic onion rings. Not sure about the one review saying the wings tasted like rubber, but they must not enjoy smoked style wings. There were piping hot, and practically fell right off the bone when you ate them. A nice hint of some sweet spice in the dry rub that I could not identify, but they were some of the best wings I have eaten, so take that for what it is. We both absolutely loved them. I ordered the house salad and it was a monster for under $7. Loaded with cucumbers, tomatoes, radishes, arugula and other greens. Split a pizza (Green Street, loaded with Basil pesto, roasted fennel, pickled fennel, mushrooms, baby arugula, toasted pine nuts, local mozzarella, Grana Padano & balsamic reduction). Ordered only 1/2 mushroom for my picky friend, and they happily obliged. We brought some of the salad and pizza home with us, as the portions were gigantic. A great first visit to Hired Hands. We'll be back.

As a self-proclaimed pizza connoisseur, I recently found myself in Burlington for a work trip and…read moredecided to conduct what I can only describe as a two-night pizza field study. Vermont, as best I can tell, excels at three things. Producing elite-level cheese, perfecting brick oven pizza, and fully committing to a very particular political personality. Two of those things directly benefit me, so I leaned in. One immediate observation. If you are looking for anything other than wood-fired, artisanal pizza, you may want to adjust expectations. That appears to be the law of the land. Naturally, I adapted by eating pizza two nights in a row. Night 2: Folino's Pizza The next night I pivoted and ended up at Folino's, which turned out to be the value correction I needed. I ordered the MK pizza, which comes topped with caramelized onions and impressively large pepperoni slices that do not believe in subtlety. The difference was immediate. I paid less than the night before and received a pizza that was easily twice the size. This one actually acknowledged that I had not eaten since breakfast. The caramelized onions added a great balance of sweetness, the pepperoni brought both flavor and coverage, and the overall product hit that ideal intersection of quality and quantity. This pizza was not just good, it was filling. I left satisfied and with leftovers, which later doubled as an elite cold hotel breakfast. That alone puts it in a different category. The atmosphere at Folino's was laid-back, clean, and refreshingly unpretentious. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I showed up earlier than I had said I would, fully expecting to be told to wait, but they immediately jumped into making my order without hesitation. The location has a slightly rough-around-the-edges feel, but that seems consistent with parts of Burlington. It adds a little unpredictability to the experience, which at this point felt on brand.

So when I say that Stone's Throw just may be THE best pizza...well, that really says a lot. We ordered online & scheduled pickup for right at opening (4pm). Our 2 small build your own pizzas were deliciously hot & ready, right on time: Italian Sausage, Pepperoni, Basil, red sauce, mozzarella, regular gluten crust: this crust! Impossibly chewy, AND impossibly light & crispy. Great (surely house made) sausage, crispy-edged pepperoni, & red sauce. A repeat for sure! That regular gluten crust is so good - but our 2nd pizza pushed them into epic territory imo: Half: pork belly, dried cherries, vegan white sauce, vegan mozzarella, gluten free crust: chewy & crispy crust! Creamy, savory, cashew-based white sauce, & house made mozzarella! The pork belly was just enough smokiness to be delicious w/the dried cherries but not overpower. This was great pizza. Half: braised short rib, leek, preseved lemons, that delish vegan white sauce & house made vegan mozzarella, on gluten free crust: if you see it on any menu, you should honestly put preserved lemons on anything you can. Let's all go home & make them immediately. This was great pizza! Only those with dietary restrictions will fully appreciate the beauty of these gluten free crust & vegan cheese & sauce options, as well as their vegan sausage topping. For everyone else, fyi - good regular cheese is EASY to offer; great house made vegan cheese and white sauce, however, is NOT EASY and UNCOMMON. And a great gluten free crust is rare too. The fact that a true gourmand can be fully satisfied here, even with food restrictions, is a beautiful thing. I don't know what the Fairfax or Richmond locations offer, but this Charlotte location also has an impressive selection of wine, beer, cider, & sodas, plus cannolis & mousse. That's right - really something for everyone!
