Bagel breakfast sandwich, hot chai latte
    Caitlin V.

Pretty much one of the only food spots in town, but luckily it's a solid option. Got a bagel breakfast sandwich that was tasty and filling and a hot chai latte that was quite good - not too sweet like they can sometimes be. Service was friendly. I'd visit again if in the area.

Enjoyed an iced coffee and BEC at the Pink Pig Cafe! Definitely a staple in Essex. The BEC bagel was fresh and super yummy and coffee was amazing! The decor and seating is so pretty--highly recommend stopping here during your trip!

This was the BEST ham and cheese panini

No joke, I had the best ham and cheese panini here! I never thought to put mustard on my grilled cheese before and it was delish! Great bread, fresh ham not thinly sliced deli ham, but real sliced ham and gooey cheese! I loved it so much I tried to get another on the return ferry the next day, but sadly they closed minutes before our ferry landed. We will be back because I really wanted to try their fresh tomatoes soup also. Oh the owner gave me a piece of her squash bread, wow, so good and went perfectly with the cappuccino!! Just go, you won't be disappointed and I imagine it's a great place to sit and watch the boats when COVID goes away.

Definitely worth the try when your in the area. Husband and wife runs this cute little joint. I was here early October and weather was perfect. I stayed at a local AirBnb and wanted me some latte. So glad I found this place! Ordered my usual - Vanilla Latte and this place was legit. I tried the Quiche as well and it was yums!

Love the Pink Pig. Only in the area for a week each summer, but we make sure we get coffee and breakfast here a few times during the week.

We were in the mood for lunch and they were only serving breakfast that Sunday. So, we opted for the most lunch-ish thing available that wasn't too heavy. Bagels and cream cheese. They were perfectly toasted and there was plenty of spreadable cream cheese. It made for a perfect light lunch. I don't eat eggs, so it did limit my options. If you do eat eggs, their breakfast dishes with eggs look amazing. Of course, we tried the coffee. It was very good and we loved the mugs. The place is rustic-charming. The service was good. It's a busy place. We loved the regulars who stopped in and didn't even need to say what they wanted. The servers already knew. The service is good but slow. Not sure if that's because they were busy or if they're just not the type to rush things. The bathrooms are clean. There is an up-charge for credit cards. It's hard to resist buying mugs and coffee to take home. The cookies were so hard to resist we bought some to keep us snack-happy on our travels. Definitely a good place to stop.

While I haven't had the opportunity to try the entire menu just yet, I can say confidently the home fries live up to the hype. I understand why they're called home fries because they reminded me of home. It looks like they're doing some renovation on the second floor, I wonder if that'll result in even more seating. If that's the case then it'll take this cafe to the next level.

From the welcoming "a place upstate" Adirondack chair out front to the cozy, shingle-sided exterior, this spot perfectly captures that rustic, high-peaks aesthetic. But it's the quality of the brew that truly sets it apart. The Espresso The espresso at Capisce is a masterclass in balance. It's rich and full-bodied with a velvety crema that hints at the care put into every pull. You won't find any bitterness here--just a smooth, complex shot that serves as the perfect foundation for their signature drinks. The Lattes Whether you need to warm up after a chilly morning at the lake or cool down after a mountain bike ride, their lattes are top-tier: Hot Lattes: The milk is steamed to a perfect micro-foam consistency--silky, sweet, and light. It blends beautifully with the espresso, creating a comforting drink that feels as artisanal as the surroundings. Iced Lattes: These are exceptionally refreshing. They manage to keep the espresso flavor front and center without letting the milk or ice wash it out. It's the ideal companion for a sunny afternoon on the patio. The Atmosphere There is something uniquely relaxing about grabbing a drink and sitting among the trees and rocks outside this cabin-style shop. It's clearly a favorite for locals and travelers alike, and for good reason--the "upstate" vibe is genuine, and the coffee is world-class. The service is full of happiness. Final Verdict: If you are in the Lake Placid area and take your caffeine seriously, Capisce is the place to be.

The employees were friendly, and our stuff came out fast. I got an iced latte with maple syrup and soy milk, my boyfriend got a salted caramel iced latte with vanilla cold foam, and my friend got a drip coffee. The coffee was so good! The only reason I'm not leaving 5 stars is because my friend got the savory cheese twist and it tasted stale, dry and not like cheese :( but the quiche was very good he said. Overall I'd definitely come back for more lattes! I'm happy to have tried this on a trip to Lake Placid.

Upon entering, not a single employee lifted their head or greeted us, even after I had said "good morning". We asked for our 2 paninis to go and was not given any type of direction where to wait or what the next step might be. We hovered awkwardly inside and outside. Fortunately the young gentleman that delivered our paninis to us, had an awesome upbeat energy! Our paninis were not what I expected, in a good way! They were almost like an egg salad with peppers and cheese on very soft and fresh focaccia! $10 seemed fair for the sandwiches but I'm not sure how 2 paninis and a piece of lemon cake totaled $27. While leaving I said "thank you" and it seemed like pulling teeth for one of the ladies to quietly say "goodbye." They might want to look into common courtesy or even a customer service training on YouTube.
