I had a great overall internet buying experience with Craig at Old Rock Motors this past week. I could not be more pleased with the professional service and attention I received. Craig was quick to supply additional photos and even sent me several videos of the car, a 2012 FIAT 500 Sport. The car - delivered yesterday - is clean and as advertised/described and Craig and crew did a full brake job prior to selling. Since it was an 8-year old car, there were some minor cosmetic flaws that were clearly highlighted to me. I saw the other top ratings for ORM and they deserve it! DO NOT GO HERE. I REPEAT DO NOT GO HERE. My father, my brother and my sister have all purchased cars from here. I thought highly of them so I proceeded. In less than 6 months the check engine light came on and the car began shaking and running rough; I mean shaking like a death trap. I brought the problem to them and it took me 5 days to even get an answer and even then I had to call them multiple times after I kept hearing "yes we will call you" and never heard anything. They proceeded to tell me the damage to the engine was hefty and expensive and I decided I wasn't going to fix it and was going to sell it back to them or elsewhere. I went to pick it up after hours and the engine started smoking and smelling like burnt plastic; wasn't doing that before I dropped it off!!! I told them I wanted back what I still owed on my loan for this piece of junk and they refused. Now what does this say about their business? They're willing to sell me a faulty product and not even lean forward and do the right thing for a family that gave them 10+ years of business. Went to Old Rock Motors looking for a pickup truck by recommendation of a mutual friend, although they didn't have anything in stock that fit my needs, I received a phone call from Craig a few days later saying he had something perfect for me. Very Unprofessional, I had bought a car with them and the owner was very nice until I handed him my check. I had previously mentioned that something was off in the car a week prior to bringing it into the shop. I left a message on a Saturday they did not even try to return my phone call. I had to call them Monday since I had a check engine light on as well for another issue in the muffler. I drop off my car tell them about my issue about the car again after several times of mentioning it they had nothing to say, the owner said well do what we can very rude but they did not, they fixed the muffler and ignored again the other issues I was having with the vehicle. I asked them to please call me with any updates and as soon as the car is ready, again ignored everything did not contact me I called them and asked about the update the son said yea why don't you come get it, no explanation just very rude. I go to pick up the vehicle and again I ask has it been looked at and I'm ignored. I feel like they are very dismissive, they were rude, unprofessional, and I do not recommend them AT ALL!!!!! read more

This guy and his kid are the biggest scammers in the world. I bought a car in January from his lot, paid half in upfront in cash. 2 days after driving it off the lot., the check engine light comes on and as I'm approaching the date of my inspection I bring it back to have him fix it under the warranty. He "fixes" it and 5 days later it's back on again. I bring it back for a second time and when I pick it up at 5 o clock, I'm not even far enough down the road to have his garage out of my rear view and it's back on again. The third time(granted by now I'm stuck bringing it to him under warranty and can't afford another mechanic which is what i desperately need) it comes on again after two weeks. The fourth and final time, he calls me and says he had to bring it to his friends garage in Dracut to have it fixed because he doesn't know what's wrong with it. Yup, a mechanic who doesn't know how to fix cars. When I brought it to the inspection, obviously not at his garage, I am told by the mechanic at BP in Salem that the shocks are almost worn to nothing, the brakes need to be redone and there's 300 dollars of body rot underneath, so on top of the 3K I paid for the car I had to spend another 1200 to get it fixed just so I could drive it and since the warranty was up. Jim at BP told me whoever passed the car as Old Rock did with the first inspection should have the state revoke his ability to do so. I'll take my lumps for not being the best car buyer in the world, but Old Rock is completely inept, dishonest, and a total crook and cheat, a reputation he has that I learned about only after my fiasco. I'm sharing this is hopes of saving someone else the time, expense and frustration these guys put me through. Please do not waste your time here. read more

I've always loved old rock until recently I had purchased a car that soon after needed work , when I first brought the car home it was squeaking and as expected they took it in and "fixed" the issue , fast forward to a month later and the problem resurfaced . A few months after that I had to have work done on the transmission , which was great they got me right in and "fixed" the issue . Yet again the issue resurfaced and I called them leaving multiple messages with NO return call , still months later still calling and having the same issue that they "fixed" ( still waiting on a return call ) . Yet again another issue with the car so I called Monday looking to get an appointment to be seen , was told by Craig jr that he would call me right back with the information - took down my number and all... fast forward to 4 days later and still have yet to get a call back. I've bought numerous cars there , my family has as well and I've always recommended people to go to Craig because I thought he was a stand up mechanic and very reliable. After having such a bad experience I will not be bringing my cars back to old rock and I will not be recommending them to anyone I know. read more

My father purchased a vehicle for me at Ole Rock. I am very leery of "used car dealers"...but I guess my father felt differently. When we picked up the vehicle, everything seemed ok. They said it was in working order, that they had done some work on it and that it was a great vehicle. They gave me an inspection sticker and everything!! Well, I drove it home and discovered the horn did NOT work, the airbag light was on, the sliding door in the back did not work from the inside of the van! Ole Rock did fix the sliding door. The horn and airbag light were all related to a "recall" on the van, which I brought to a dealer and they took care of it. Ok fine. It was an aggravation - but it was done free of charge. BUT - why did they give me a sticker when the horn is part of the safety inspection??? When I had it at the dealer, they said that the stabilizer link was broken and that it looked like it had been for quite awhile! PLUS - everytime it rains, my van stinks!!!! It smells all musty and gross. That just means that there's water getting in SOMEWHERE. My father paid for this thing up front - and I'm not very happy with what we received in return. The best experience I have ever had buying a used car. Not only are their prices amazingly reasonable, especially given the prices of used cars everywhere else, their customer service is what makes this place. They are a small family owned auto repair/used car dealer. I stopped in to take a look at the cars on a day they were not open, I found a car that I loved at the site, the exterior was immaculate for a 2001, the interior was even better. I called the next day to tell them i was interested and wanted to come down and test drive it. The tires needed some air so I requested that before i come down they put some air in the tires, it was done and ready to drive by the time i got there. Craig came along for the test drive with my Aunt & Uncle, he was super personable and informative. The car needed an alignment and had been delivered to them needing a spare tire and antenna. A new spare was immediately put in, and a new antenna ordered. While I needed the car right away he said I'll call you when the antennas in and you can come down anytime. I brought my car down about a week later and got a brand new antenna (probably better than the one that was on there to begin with) and they took care of the alignment for no cost to me. They guaranteed that the car would pass inspection (and it did) but i was very well reassured that if it did not pass inspection for any reason to bring and back and he would fix it. He gave me a copy of the carfax & did all the paperwork that most dealers charge and extra 500 bucks for, for free. After visiting a few scummy dealerships, and dealing with a lot of sleazy salesmen, this place was my breathe of new car smell (even though it was used and 11 years old when i got the car it had been cleaned and smelled great). I would recommend anyone looking for a used car and a great experience visit this place. I cannot say enough great things about the experience that I had. Thank Guys!! You rock!!!! read more
