Years ago, he started having breathing issues and we started seeing Dr. Mary Edwards exclusively. He was put on a few medications, and we were fine... until his recent ACL injury, about a month ago. Charlie was a very food driven, active, bubbly dog. After Dr. Mary told me he had an ACL injury, I asked about an injection called Adequan, after doing light research the night before. She lit up and said that would be a great option, so they show me how to administer the medication, gave us some Galliprant, and sent me on my way. Two weeks ago, Charlie started vomiting and having diarrhea. We were trying to give it a few days just incase his stomach was upset. It continued, he began to lay in bed all day and refused food/water. Friday, we took him to a separate vet and they informed us that Charlie was in stage 4 kidney disease, and those two medications he was prescribed are things they can't have if he has kidney disease. This doctor didn't suggest or mention testing his blood before going on these medications. Also, I was never informed of any side effects, or anything to look out for if the medication wasn't right for him. This morning, we had to make the grueling decision to euthanize our sweet boy. His creatinine levels had reached 11 and at that point, he was suffering, in pain, and laboring to breathe. He was my bestfriend since I was in kindergarten, and now he is an angel in heaven. Please, read a few other reviews, as I wish I would've, and take your animal somewhere else.

They offer bloodwork and pain medicine in addition to the price quoted on the phone that are optional. They give you a paper to fill out when you arrive so you can select what all you want to do for your pet. We opted to have bloodwork, medicine and her nails trimmed too. They call you during and or after surgery to keep you posted. We were relieved to hear she was doing great. They offered to remove her back dew claws because she had already injured them and I had meant to ask them about it, but forgot so I was very happy they called and asked. They were very efficient and professional. The entire staff worked as a team and you can tell they love animals. Overall they had the best pricing (even with the add-ons they offer) and everything went well.

She assumed my puppies age when she could have just asked how many weeks she is (and I said as much), she assumed where my puppy came from, she assumed I was lying about my puppy actually coming from a rescue. I told her the rescue said she was given a 5 way and she said "without proof, it's like the first vaccinations never happened and you're starting over again" in a tone like "so be ready for that!" After talking to that awful woman I found my adoption contract and it said the date she was given a 5 way shot. I then contacted the rescue about official proof of vaccination and then I called Westside only to find out they are not insane. I got an appt. really quickly and I'm so glad I found them. Their office was really nice compared to Village Animal on Cottage Hill. Everyone at Westside was helpful and pleasant and they are surprisingly affordable! I only called 1 other place before calling Westside and after speaking with the friendly front desk and reading their reviews, I knew my search was over. I'm so happy I found them! I got an appointment FAST. Their office was really clean and modern without feeling expensive and the contrast between Westside and Village could not be more stark. Village has a gruff Billy goat sitting at the front desk, they have the grossest tile and an atrocious paint job the techs must have done while drinking too much wine. Westside is clean and inviting like you want to spend time in the lobby. Even their other clients were super friendly, socializing in the lobby and all glad to be at the vet. They wanted my puppy to have a great experience, so they distracted her with yummies while she got her shots. That meant a lot to me. The visit was $100 and I was happy with that and I got a spay quote for $275 when she gets old enough. I definitely recommend Westside.
