I contacted Wesson to find out about vaccinating my new puppy. I got a really unpleasant woman on the phone who didn't want actual answers but to assume her way through the call. She assumed my puppies age when she could have just asked how many weeks she is (and I said as much), she assumed where my puppy came from, she assumed I was lying about my puppy actually coming from a rescue. I told her the rescue said she was given a 5 way and she said "without proof, it's like the first vaccinations never happened and you're starting over again" in a tone like "so be ready for that!" After talking to that awful woman I found my adoption contract and it said the date she was given a 5 way shot. I then contacted the rescue about official proof of vaccination and then I called Westside only to find out they are not insane. I got an appt. really quickly and I'm so glad I found them. Their office was really nice compared to Village Animal on Cottage Hill. Everyone at Westside was helpful and pleasant and they are surprisingly affordable! If I could give a negative number, I would. We used Wesson for years, however when I recently took my English Bulldog for a simple eye procedure, it was the worst thing ever. We took him out in a body bag. Even worse, they didn't have anything to say that day as to what went wrong and NO ONE has reached out. They don't care about our fur babies. I have been going to this vet for the last 13 years. This morning when i went to clean the cat litter, there was nothing to removed. Its been at least 3 days ofnot going. My cat had started crying. I called my vet and he refused to see him. They dont care about our pets. I called another vet close by Animal Hospital of Mobile. They they took him immediately before the others that were waiting. They have been fantastic and i now have a new vet!!!! read more

Recently moved to Mobile and did not have an established vet when I had to find somewhere to take my cat for an emergency visit (on a Saturday no less). They graciously fit us in when we showed up right at opening time. Service was quick and Dr. Goldman was great! read more

I have used Wesson Animal Clinic since moving back to Mobile almost 5 years ago. I have had absolutely NO problems with either care or pricing from them. Dr. Wesson and Schneider and the entire staff are very professional and competent in caring for my two dogs. They are truly pet lovers and have always given my pets the best care possible. first time to see this vet, my dog has leukemia and while we are in the waiting area in comes this pesticide guy swinging his wand all over the floors and walls. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Then I complain about pesticide exposure and the desk clerk say, "Oh it is fine the same stuff you use for flea preventative" no kidding? Flea preventatives are POISONS. They paralyze the central nervous system of the fleas. So then the spray guy says, "this is safe" so I told him to give it to his kids to drink. He says, "I would." My dogs leukemia is from the environment, pesticides and synthetics. Get a clue. Needless to say, we left and will never be back. Just remember, when you go there, your pet is laying on the floor where they sprayed that crap, then licking their paws etc. We wonder why they get cancer. Idiots. read more

The Dr. Was very understanding of my dog Shelby's current condition and empathized with me as the pet owner in breaking the possible bad news. This vet was a little pricy but I don't feel he ran tests just to run the bill up- he only did procedures I felt were necessary and that was very reassuring. read more

Do NOT use this vet! We recently moved here, and I took my dogs in to get chips. I asked them to trim their nails while there. (I get their nails trimmed all the time at a groomer for $7.00 per dog.) I've read that getting a chip inserted is around $20-$25 per dog. They charged $45. The nails were $14.36 per dog. I asked them about spaying my 10 month old Labrador, and they set up the appointment with the usual instructions not to eat or drink anything after midnight the day before. The appointment time was for 12:50, which seemed odd, because I've owned dogs all my life and I've always had an early morning drop off when they had to be spayed. But, we're new here, and maybe they have a new way of doing things, so I just agreed. I must have gotten at least three reminder emails asking me to confirm my dog's appointment for 12:50 on the date they gave me, PLUS numerous text messages also asking me to confirm her 12:50 appointment. I'll back up here a minute, and mention that for the first time in my life I scheduled a surgery for a dog with a vet that never asked for her vaccination records or medical history. They knew NOTHING about my dog, and never asked. They clearly just wanted the overpriced fee for the surgery without much concern for my dog's health. I know my dog is up to date on everything, so I wasn't overly concerned, but THEY didn't know that! In hindsight that should have been a big red flag to me, and you'd better believe it will be in the future. Any vet who doesn't I sure your dog is properly vaccinated and is healthy before performing a surgery should be a vet you run away from. If you can't provide proof that your dog is vaccinated, they vaccinate them again just to be absolutely sure. Well, I'm sure you've figured out by now that of course when I arrived at 12:45 for my appointment the two young girls in the front office just looked at me like I was the idiot. I told them I had a 12:50 appointment for my dog to be spayed, and they said, "oh, we take drop offs for surgery between 7:30 and 8:00". I asked why they kept sending me texts and emails saying her appointment was at 12:50, if that was the case, and they said something about their new system had a problem. They had my cellphone number (that they used for all those stupid confirmation texts) but never bothered to call me. My dog hasn't eaten or had anything to drink all day now. I've wasted my time, and my patience. And, my dog is still not spayed. I will tell everyone I know to never use this vet. I am furious about this whole experience. read more
