The best little pizza place on this side of town! Friendly service and a casual atmosphere! The food is for sure worth the wait (hence, go for a salad first) ALWAYS HOT ! The employees move like lighting! Especially in a busy night (like tonight) they're really hustling! The pizza is a New York style and it's always FRESH! There will be a wait for it too - so here's a tip - if you don't want to wait, try the lunch special (which you can order Anytime) and it's hot pizza slices that are ready to go. During the time that we ate our meal I saw them bring pizza after pizza into the hot glass oven where they keep them for people that order slices. I also ordered the zucchini and I do love their zucchini they do have my favorite ranch too! The cheeseburger was yummy and they have seasoned fries that go with it. today I tried the Philly cheesesteak sandwich and it was very good I like the pickle spear too. Tip #2 - if you are in a big hurry I would suggest calling ahead. Tonight my daughter is getting a snow cone and they also have ice cream! I like that the TV is usually playing the latest game so it's just a fun atmosphere and you can also order a pitcher of beer or a bottle of beer they pretty much have it all here! The staff is friendly. The food is is a hit or miss. When a hit, it is ok. When a miss, it misses big. The place could use a good cleaning. Staff sometimes handles cash then food without washing hands or wearing gloves. Not many places to eat in Kearny, so might be one reason why there might not have an incentive to step it up. read more

This place is extraordinarily overhyped by locals who swear it is the best pizza restaurant on the planet, so we decided to give it a try, because there is next to nothing else in Kearny as far as dining options. First impressions: Service was not great. We were forced to wait in line to order for over 20 minutes while the cashier gossiped with the locals. The cashier was not particularly friendly, seemed more annoyed we interrupted their in depth discussion with the local in front of us. We ordered and sat and waited for about 25 mins for our pizza, and nothing. My husband went to the counter to get an estimate of how much longer, and they had lost our ticket and not even started our order. The cashier wasn't apologetic at all, just acted annoyed once again that they had to copy the information from our receipt. Waited another 25 mins and by then we both just wanted to leave, then finally we got our food. It didn't seem like a fresh pizza, it was warm not hot when we got it. After trying the pizza it definitely gets my vote for being the most chewy pizza dough and cheese I've ever had to misfortune to bite into. How the heck, is cheese and dough on a pizza that chewy?? I have loved this place since I founded it. I had had a gastric bypass and thought I would never be able to eat pizza again. This pizza was fresh and delicious and my stomach could handle it. Everytime I have gone or ordered food to go it has been great service and the food was amazing. I enjoy going with my family to this place and it is always welcoming and a fun place to be. read more

Today we went to the pizza place and i noticed no one had posted the menu. So, i took the initiative to do so. We got a couple slices of pizza and some deserts. All were very good and the pizza was just the right with everything. However, the only problem i have with the place is the wait time for getting pizza, if your getting slices, it shouldn't take to long, but get a small like mine, and you'll have to wait for like 20 mins. Terrible pizza. Very disappointed as I have been ill and wanting pizza a long time. If I had known how bad it was, I would not have ordered a jumbo. The crust was kinda burnt and tough. The pepperoni was thin, dried out and salty. The cheese was very rubbery. The cheesy bread sticks hadn't raised up and were flat, hard and burnt. I wish I would have bought a frozen pizza from Norm's and saved money and our tastebuds. So sad.. read more

Super cute little place we stopped along the way with the kiddos for some pizza. The staff were super friendly, attentive and the food wasn't bad at all! I really enjoyed the crust on the pizza and that is coming from a New Yorker! Fun decor and we got our food quick! We were feeling overwhelmed with isolation and decided to take the road trip through Superior, Globe and Kearney. It's a favorite of ours and we figured it's a safe way to spend the day. The views are stunning. We keep meaning to try a few other places for lunch, but then the conversation comes back to old time pizza and it's hard to think of anything else once you have pizza on your mind ! They make the bases, use super fresh ingredients and bake in the hot pizza oven. Yummy ! We swooped out a few ingredients to have a veggie pizza just how we like it - and they are generous with the toppings. No sad gaps in their pizzas. Of course Covid has meant that some of the fun stuff can't happen, but the welcome made up for any of that. We were able to sit in with safe spacing, and everyone had masks except for eating. Felt very safe. It was the treat we needed. Looking forward to visiting again next time we need to escape ! read more

Ok...I'm a little biased because this is my family's pizza joint. I grew up on the stuff from the age of 13 and it was a staple until I moved away for college at 18. BUT I stand by it being my favorite pizza no matter how many places I try outside of Kearny. I've even had people who thought I was just saying that because it was my family come back from a visit there and tell me how fantastic it was despite their doubts. :) If you're looking for a short (1-2 hour drive depending on your location in the Phoenix metro area), scenic drive for a bite to eat, this is the place for you. It is a popular peaceful, meandering motorcycle lunch ride destination as well. The big difference I've seen when trying places (mostly here in the Phoenix area) is the amount and quality of ingredients. OTP makes dough fresh every day, cuts fresh veggies, and the cheese is REAL cheese. Some places I've tried down here use canned mushrooms, weird cheese that doesn't melt right or stretch like gooey pizza cheese should. OTP is generous about their toppings, unlike some chain type places where you'd have to order extra extra extra extra of something in order for it to be as much at OTP would use. If I HAD to compare it to somewhere that people in Phoenix might know, I would say it's between like, Geno's and Sardellas maybe? I love both those places, but neither is home for me. If you haven't, try the buffalo chips...I know, sounds odd, but it's basically a thin pizza crust with a buffalo ranch sauce with mozzarella on it. DE-LISH! I bring one home every time I go for a visit. :) All the menu items are awesome. The fried appetizers are a must have..battered zucchini, mushrooms, etc.... But my fave are the cheese curds. They're jalapeño cheese curds...a little spice but nothing crazy. Just gives it extra good flavor. Bread sticks are simple but delicious...made from the fresh pizza dough and topped with butter and garlic salt; served with marinara and nacho cheese for dipping. There are also burgers, subs, salad bar, etc...if you don't feel like a pizza. Beer prices are good. Oh! And they have something I've also found it hard to get around the valley...fried ice cream! Mmmmm... Other things you might try are the mexican pizza (think fry bread on a pizza crust!), calzones, or get your sub sandwich prepared in a pita bread (basically a hollow pizza crust freshly baked in the oven)...I highly recommend the philly (chicken or beef) in a pita! If it's hot outside, get a Hawaiian shaved ice...LOTS of flavors to choose from...you can even mix and match or add cream to it. It's amazing! Think strawberries & cream, banana cream, creamy coconut, etc... Customer service is normally pretty good...the place employs a lot of the young people in the area who are working while they attend high school as well as some people who have worked there for many years. The majority of the time someone from the family who owns the place is there and they're always willing to take a compliment or a complaint to heart if you want to share. read more

This is a pretty cool, kind of retro pizza joint. We found ourselves in town after a volleyball match and ended up here for dinner. The pizza was good...hand tossed with fresh ingredients. The salad bar was...well, as one of the teens in our group said "pizza, protein style". It was basically all of the pizza toppings along with some lettuce and cottage cheese. Only one dressing: ranch. The highlight of the experience was the Buffalo Chip. This is an ultra thin crust pizza topped with buffalo wing sauce and cheese served with ranch for dipping. A buddy and I went for a motorcycle ride, he left from a Tucson and I left from Phoenix. I decided Kearny would be a good place to meet up. Boy was I right. It is a very small town located in a valley that is surrounded by Arizona beauty. I felt like the town was closed. Yes, the whole town, but I couldn't have been more wrong. The people there were beyond friendly. We decided to eat lunch so I used Yelp and discovered that the Old Time Pizza and a Deli were near by. We got there just as it opened and were immediately greater with happy employees anxious to feed us. The staff was great and provided some recommendations. We went with Philly Cheese a Steak sandwiches. As I looked around I felt as if time stopped. I was a teenager hanging out in a pizza place sometime during the late 80's. I loved it. Local pizza place. Seems central to this town of Kearney, AZ. In the time I spent there I could see that everyone new each other and this is the place to grab a quick lunch. I could see from all the pictures on the wall but this is definitely the place for kids to hang out. Old-time pizza did have a great pizza special and we were able to get two slices of pepperoni pizza and a large drink for seven dollars. I want to start this review off by saying OTP was always a go to spot when I was growing up in Hayden. I recently came back down with a good friend of mine and wanted to introduce her to the place and have her experience the great customer service and food I remembered growing up with. For starters when we arrived the staff that day seemed to be more interested in goofing off than ensuring our food was properly made. Now I've worked in the food service industry for many years and I know that it can be good to create a fun and stress free environment with coworkers to ease up some of the monotony of the day, however the food that we received took way longer than it should of had, this was primarily due to the staff continuing to goof off and focus more on what they had on their mind then serving their customers. My friend ordered a mini pepperoni pizza and breadsticks, when they brought the food she was told it was hot, she checked it by placing her finger in the middle of it and it was cold. The cheese had a fake cheese texture to it and the breadsticks were only covered in salt and not even seasoned correctly. Mind you we drove almost 2 hours so she could experience the food. Combined with the long wait, the sub par food and the staff more concerned about joking around then making sure the food quality was where it should be, made me decide to just not do business anymore and it sucks from this being a fond spot from my childhood. Unfortunately the experience affected the rest of the day and she and myself were not too thrilled over the experience. I only ate a few bites out of the fries I ordered and the cheeseburger before i just decided to leave and see if I could salvage the day. I'm not looking for a refund or an apology, I'm just hoping that maybe the staff can have a sit down and this can be prevented from happening to someone else. read more

This place is great! I stayed at the General Kearny Inn for 4 nights while doing some field geology work in the area and I came here every night for dinner! I live in Scottsdale and you don't find many places like this in the Scottsdale/Phoenix area. The pizza is so delicious and you can tell that it is fresh made. I had their pizza twice and pastrami sandwiches twice, and also battered mushrooms, all of which were delicious! The best thing about this place is the service. Everyone who works there is so friendly and always have smiles on their faces. A man who works there, I think he might be the owner, who's name is Gary (Jerry? Can't remember which one!) is so great. He would start up conversation and talk to us every night we came in. He was so funny and nice and even wrote a song for our geology class and played it for us on his guitar. I've never been to such a unique place like this! I would definitely come back to catch up with Gary (Jerry) and eat amazing pizza. I absolutely recommend this place to anyone! read more
