Pleasantly surprised by this spot! We came here for brunch before we left back to Phoenix. It is located in an unassuming location with questionable interior design choices but offers pretty great food and plenty of options! I ordered the Breakfast Montini -- a pressed sandwich with ham, turkey, Havarti cheese, scrambled eggs and cranberry compote on the side. What an amazing conglomeration of ingredients! Everything went so well together and the flavors were super tasty. My partner devoured his breakfast burrito and let me know it was also delicious. With a name like Delicious Cafe, the place is either going to great and live up to it, or a tragic comedy of poor naming convention. I'm very happy to report it was in fact delicious! I came in about an hour before closing. Decided to do a last minute trip to Payson to hike. But I needed lunch, was pretty hungry. I had not looked at the menu before arrival as I sometimes do so I felt a bit rushed with my decision making cause I had my fur baby Flynn waiting outside, but I fully enjoyed what I had. Lunch menu was available, I would like to come back for breakfast next time. I opted for the Dipper sandwich (roast beef, Swiss, onion and au jus). Served with seasoned potato wedges. It was very tasty. I would have liked the potatoes a bit more cooked and crispy, but still good. I ate about half of it and had it for leftovers where I toasted the wedges to my liking. Really good leftover as well. They have a bunch of teas! So I had what is sort of strange, an earl grey iced tea. They can make any tea iced. It was good. I love earl grey. The weather was nice, it was drizzling a tiny, bit and they were kind to bring water bowl for Flynn as we sat outside on the small front patio area. I'll definitely be back! Great random find! WHAT A TREASURE! We dropped in here on the way from Phoenix to Tonto Natural Bridge State Park. Unlike the other greasy spoons everywhere around, this place had an excellent menu with diverse choices - including several healthy ones. I got a really good Greek Salad. The sandwiches were great too. Another little highlight was all the teas the place offered - they have a really really good lavender one that we liked so much, we bought loose leaf so we could make our own. The team here was super friendly as well, and while they had only 2 people serving a full house, they made everyone feel welcomed and happy. What a little GEM of a place!! read more

This is an unassuming place from the outside but I was greeted with such warmth and hospitality when I walked in, so I knew it would be good. The menu has a wide variety-- from all day breakfast, to sandwiches, to pizzas. Even the desserts looked yummy although we didn't try any. I saw someone order the lemonberry pancakes and let me just say, I will be getting these next time I come back. They looked heavenly. My omelette was so nourishing after a long day of travel and my daughter's breakfast quesadilla was the perfect meal for a 6 year old (pro tip- order a half size so no food goes to waste). What a fantastic spot we found! The service was top notch, just what you would expect from a little local restaurant. What a hidden gem for breakfast! Delicious Cafe is tucked into a quaint strip mall, but don't be fooled by its lack of advertising. The service and food were very good. If you want a hole-in-the-wall experience where the food's made from scratch, this is it! The interior is cozy and clean, something most hole-in-the-wall establishments lack. The service was phenomenal, our waiter was so informative and friendly. Everything is house-made, including the delicious Snickerdoodle Coffee I had. The food was really good. I tried the Breakfast Montini, their version of a Monte Cristo Sandwich. It was a little too heavy but the house-made cranberry compote helped tone it down. My Dad loved his "Delicious" Breakfast, a yummy traditional breakfast. The service was so kind and you can really tell they put a lot of effort into this establishment. The cute diner is tucked in a plaza and can be driven past. But I'm telling you to stop! You will not be disappointed!! We have been here once before and the food was amazing. Spent our anniversary in Strawberry and had to grab breakfast here on our way out of town. We recognized the same waitress and she is so sweet and great service! My husband ordered The Breakfast Club and I ordered The Breakfast Montini w/ cranberry compote. Both were absolutely delicious!! However the Breakfast Montini was out of this world! We stopped in payson for some brunch on our way back home. The restaurant was pretty small, but I did really think there needed to be more than one server. The waitress working was fantastic but you could tell that she was spread thinly. The cinnamon roll latte was pretty standard and tasted pretty good. I got an omelette and it was big enough for another meal!!! The eggs were fluffy and filled with lots of toppings!! The potato wedges were flavorful and crispy. Great choice for a lunch stop in Payson on a Sunday. Had to call to make sure they were open as Google said Closed, their website said "by appointment only" (?), and Yelp said Open. I had the Applini which was a turkey panini with Swiss cheese, apple slices, cucumber, and honey mustard. I was stuck on whether to order the whole or half. Ended up ordering the whole as the panini I saw on another plate didn't look excessively huge. I ate the whole thing as it was delicious. I was full but not too full. Also the honey mustard did not have a horseradish taste that some do (very thankful for that - can totally ruin it for me). I didn't bother to eat the side salad as it was just romaine lettuce, grape tomatoes, cucumber, and more cheese (the panini met my cheese quota for one meal ha). Balsamic vinaigrette dressing was thin and mostly balsamic vinegar so just nothing special here. On a next visit I might try the half of this same panini with the potato wedges, those looked good and no surcharge like the salad. Or there were brunch items and a couple other sandwiches that appealed. One thing I really did not like was the frosted designed glass in place of standard windows so the lighting was weird and kind of bothered me really (felt almost fluorescent / windowless). It was probably to block the sun but some sort of shade would be better. Despite this the food was good enough I do hope to return. Pricing seemed fair overall. read more

This is a cute little privately owned cafe and a good stop en route to or from camping. The food was pretty good, but needed more salt in my opinion. I'd recommend the potato soup. The women running/working the place were really professional and friendly. Our food was ready when we arrived and they made us excellent coffee drinks to leave with. The staff is always so sweet and friendly and are always ready to answer any questions or try to accommodate dietary restrictions. 5 Stars - A Must-Visit in Payson! Absolutely loved this charming little cafe in Payson! I ordered the Rise and Grind burrito, and it was hands-down one of the most delicious breakfast burritos I've ever had. The eggs were cooked to perfection, and the sausage was incredibly flavorful--truly some of the best I've had in a burrito. I also ordered a side of their sun-dried tomato spread, and wow--it was the perfect addition. So good! The atmosphere of the restaurant is warm, cozy, and super welcoming. Christian rock music was playing gently in the background, adding to the peaceful and uplifting vibe. The restaurant itself was spotless, and the gentleman who greeted and served us was kind, attentive, and took the time to walk us through the menu. I had the pineapple iced tea and loved it so much I ended up buying four different loose-leaf tea blends to take home: piña colada, pineapple, apricot, and the whimsically named Wibbly Wobbly. Each one is fragrant, flavorful, and clearly made with care. They also had a cute little selection of jewelry at the counter--I picked up three adorable pairs of earrings and a fun donut pin. It's such a nice touch and makes the place feel even more special. The cafe offers excellent gluten-free options too, which was a big plus for one of my family members who needs to eat gluten-free--everything was clearly marked and available. We loved this spot so much that we actually went back the very next day to grab a to-go order before heading down the 87 back to the Valley. It was the perfect road trip meal! Highly, highly recommend this gem whether you're passing through Payson, living in town, or heading up to Flagstaff. Stopped for quick snack on way to Strawberry. They have some tables outside which is why we stopped because our pups were with us. We shared the chicken clucker wrap without onion and bacon. Came with some delicious wedge fries that were nicely seasoned and had just a bit of melted cheese on it. Comes with dipping sauce, we got the tziyaki which was so good and garlicky. I ended up putting some of the sauce on my half of the wrap which pushed it over the top. We met and talked with Daniel who co-owns the cafe with her daughter. Everything is house made, fresh, and made to order. They have lots of gluten free options to offer as well. And the most epic part of our experience was their teas! It tasted good but one of the many things that put me off was they asked if we would like lemon with our water but didn't let us know they charge you for lemon in your water which I find sneaky and ridiculous. This place is AMAZING! Stopped by on a whim during a roadtrip. I wish I had pictures of my salad but I ate it too fast. Chicken, strawberries, goat cheese, nuts and a vinaigrette to die for!
