OMG .... this is the best stay ever in this price range. I think John and Sharon have done an amazing job on this place. There were so many little thoughtful things in my room that popped it to the top of my list. Now I regret not getting the Rubber Ducky that is with every tub. The place is clean and the office is comfortable. They offer fresh fruit, coffee - tea - cocoa, and local homemade donuts in the morning. The room was spotless. I saw the house staff vigorously cleaning another room and they were awesome. Nice bunch of hard working girls. A plus for the rooms. Every small towel was folded in a way to remind you, you were at the beach in the shape of scallops, clams, they even made a crab with the washcloth and used chocomints for the eyes. The exterior is also inviting. Freshly painted, plenty of parking, and nice flower beds. Another nice touch were the tandem chairs with a small table outside so on a nice day or eve you could sit outside and enjoy the fresh air. You are about a 3 minute walk from the main street of old town. Fun to wander around. And you are virtually that close to the water too. I love this place. I might mention they just won some serious award for being best in class for the entire USA placing 12th as I recall. Bravo. Sweet treat. read more

Room was clean and roomy. Shower force was powerful and let's not forget about the rubber ducky in the bathtub. There is even a lazyboy recliner in the room. Staff was friendly and helpful. So we live in Eugene, so random coast trips are always a good idea on the weekend/special occasion or whatever. We stayed here a month or two ago for the first time- we had just seen reviews on here before we got there. It was cozy and clean which is usually exactly what we are going for. We traveled down the coast of Oregon from Astoria to Brookings over a week's time. Our third night was at the Old Town Inn in Florence. It was a very nice experience. First of all, Florence is a cute little riverside and coastal town. It has all of the charm of a small fishing village that has grown into a must stay for any trip on the Oregon coast. You're within a few miles of coastal sand dunes and dune buggy rides. Lots of fun. The accommodations in this area can be a bit on the expensive side. But among the most reasonable is the Old Town Inn. Mention it if you are a AAA member. This Inn has been nicely refurbished. The rooms are comfortable in size and décor. In the lobby n the morning they have coffee available and have donuts brought in from a local shop as a their continental breakfast. The buttermilk bars were one of my favorites. It's easy to walk from the Inn two blocks down to the town and the river. The town has great restaurants including seafood, pizza and sandwiches. Small shops line the water front for your shopping pleasure. The owners Lady and David could not have been nicer. When making my reservation by phone the owner introduced herself as Lady. My wife, listening to my end of the conversation, thought it rude when I ended my conversation with 'Thanks Lady'. I explained I wasn't being rude and that was her name. We had a good laugh about that when I met Lady at the desk when checking in. I'm sure we'll be in the Florence area again as it's a favorite destination in Oregon for us. When we do, the Old Town Inn will be at the top of our list of places to stay. read more

we stayed the night of 8/23/17. advantages: good location for visiting old town, clean. diadvantages: no a/c, when you open the windows, lots of traffic noise. Breakfast is grab and go, ok if you like donuts, not so much if you want something different. read more

We stayed here in September and loved it. We were also in the very last room closest to the 101. No issues with noise thanks to the sound machine they have in the room! Nice updates make the inside look much newer than the outside. Good shower head- I know weird thing to rate, but it's true! Glad we stopped here- at less than $100 it can't be beat! read more

An old hotel that the owners upgraded and added some nice touches to to make it really nice. Family owned. Definitely get the second floor away from the road to minimize noise. Easy walking distance to everything a small town has to offer. read more

I spent five days in Florence on business this month, and stayed at the Old Town Inn. I was very happy with my decision, from start to finish. The staff couldn't have been more friendly, and my room was great. We spent one night here while traveling down the coast to California. Such a great deal! The front desk guy (forgot his name) was super helpful in recommending restaurants (which seemed to parallel the research I did beforehand) and giving us basic information about the inn and surrounding area. How this place got 5 stars is beyond me. NO air conditioning, you listen to a couple of fans rotate all night long. I have never stayed where there is no sir before, and on the hottest day of the year. They also have a grab and go continental breakfast....the lobby is no bigger than a closet so the the only thing you can do is grab and go.... oh my. read more

This rating is not for the Inn itself, but the overall experience. The hotel is just a safe, clean and convenient location, not an actual 5-star resort. Check-in, parking, rooms, rates, free wi-fi and locally made donuts/fruit/yogurt for complimentary breakfast are superb. Management couple were very pleasant and highly attentive. A great stay here for 3 nights. This looks newly renovated. It's spotless, tastefully and thoughtfully decorated with special finishing touches like the rubber duckie in the bathroom and the sleep machine for those who need some white noise to help them sleep and it's very comfortable. It had everything we needed and even a refrigerator with a working freezer. Most importantly, no scented air fresheners which was the deciding factor as I am allergic to them. We had a great stay at the Old Town Inn. We drove a full day up the coast from Stinson Beach, CA and were pretty exhausted when we arrived in Florence at 11:30pm. We didn't make any reservations in advance because we weren't sure how far north we'd get in the rain. We lucked out. The office door had a clearly marked button saying "Ring this button after 10pm." I did so, and a very sweet woman appeared right away and got us a room on the main floor at a GREAT price. The decor is simple, spotless-clean and comfortable. We slept like babies-- great bed. You can hear the highway only if you keep the window open. In the morning, the gentleman in the office was pleasant and kind. I recommend this place without reservation. read more

It's not really a hotel: it's a motel. The reason I'm giving them a low rating is because they didnt do the basics well. There wasn't a comforter on the bed (they give you a thin polyester blanket, which is folded up above the TV. You have to put the blanket on the bed yourself), the pillows were very cheap and uncomfortable, and they have a policy that they don't make up your bed if you leave any items on it. Left a shirt on the bed? An ipad? They don't make up the bed. They left a note saying it's their policy to not make up the bed if there are any personal items on it. I've never ever seen this policy before, and it really just comes across as an excuse to make up fewer beds and save money on man hours for housekeeping. They dont really clean the room either... they leave the trash, they dont vacuum the floor, they dont refill the soaps, etc. The shower also is pretty crappy - low pressure and cheap shower head. Wish we would've stayed at the comfort Inn or the best Western down the road. read more

I have to believe the bad reviews on this place are for the motel across the street. Those reviews are not at all an accurate reflection of Old Town Inn. The room was SUPER clean. No odors. Old Town inn had the highest reviews at Trip Advisor so we booked for one night. The people were very friendly. The room was clean. If we were to visit Florence again, we'd look for another place. The location is walking distance to old town but it is right on Hwy 101. Noisy. If you still choose to stay, pick an upstairs room. It is an old building (kept looking nice) and the sounds/noise from the room above ours kept us up. I would also suggest away from the wooden stairs as they are noisy with the luggage and people up/down. And the breakfast on the go: How about small trays to carry back to the room? Hard to juggle everything. Oh, our outlet that powered the wifi and electrics didn't work. I really did want to like this place. I think I will pass on using Trip Advisor in the future. This is the second place that Trip Advisor highly recommended where our experience did not equal the reviews. read more

The room was large and clean. The staff was very friendly. The only bad thing I could say is the continental breakfast was lesser than expected. Still it was helpful that they had take out menus for local places that delivered to the motel. The shower head was small and the water pressure was not great but over all not a big deal. We would glad stay here again the next time we are passing thru Florence. read more

This hotel was perfect. They have just remodeled the rooms and it was very clean, convenient and the owners were fantastic!!! We stayed there overnight during spring break and it was also very surprisingly quiet. The beds were very comfortable and the entire room for the price was clean and neat. Also, this is the perfect hotel to stay in if you want to walk to the old-town area of Florence. It's literally a few blocks away. We stayed one night mid June at the Old Town Inn. Might look like every other Hotel/Motel but it was a little gem. Clean, comfortable and spacious with good linens. Staff were friendly and the hotel cared about the environment with the cards they post to conserve and it was spotless. It is walking distance to the township which is great if you are dining out. We enjoyed a fantastic dinner at the Waterfront Depot. Make reservations, or if only one or 2 you may get a spot at the bar. Overall, we appreciated the attention to detail. Thank you. read more

A wonderful overnighter in Florence. Perfect weather with a stiff sea breeze. I got this reservation on Travelocity but read some reviews before booking. The location was perfect for access to the main part of Florence. The cost was not the cheapest but quite reasonable and especially for the location. I read one review about the noise next to the highway and I also noticed a fair amount of noise but then I closed the window and closed the curtains and guess what... I heard almost nothing. And let's face it, Florence shuts down at 9pm and it is a very quiet quaint town. Breakfast On The Run is just that and we are used to the little continental displays in our travels. Sometimes we take advantage and sometimes not. It is appreciated and the Old Town Inn was pretty standard. The rooms are your standard hotel/motel, double queen, TV, WIFI, refrig, etc. This place appears to either have a serious recent face lift interior and exterior, or they are taking care of what they did after some serious spiffing up. The rooms are quite clean with fresh paint and the bathrooms retiled by a professional (not the hotel handyman) and new carpet. Beds are comfortable, nice linens, and good lighting. No pets allowed which we appreciate now, although we have had pets in the past and appreciate those motels that allow pets. Being responsible is the key there. The Inn has excellent street appeal as there has been attention given to the siding and painting of the building. Parking lot is adequate as the place was full the night we stayed and everyone had a spot to park. Staff were very efficient and clear on rules and how to get help during our stay. We didn't need any extra help. We would definitely consider coming back on our next visit to Florence. read more

This motel had wonderful, helpful staff and nicely appointed rooms. Very clean and comfortable. However, I gave it three stars because it is located on a very noisy section of a major road (101). Even with the window closed (which meant we had to run fans, or the room would have been stuffy), we could hear a lot of road noise. It did not prevent us from falling asleep at night, but it did wake us up by about 7:00 a.m. I think they do an absolutely GREAT and very thoughtful job with this motel (including providing white noise machines in each room, which might help some people ignore the road noise), we wouldn't stay here again, unfortunately. This may be the best value in Florence, especially if you need dog friendly. It's not expensive, walking distance to the old town business area and the room and bed's is comfortable. We had reservations, but the person who had originally took them screwed up so they didn't realize we had 3 nights with a dog. They made a very nice non-corporate exception and put us in a 2nd floor room not normally a pet room. Great customer service problem solving. However, you may want to pass on the grab and go breakfast with packaged muffins, unripe fruit and mediocre coffee. We stayed here 2 nights recently based on other reviews & could have done better for the same price. Good stuff: comfortable beds, fresh fruit & the oh-so-yummy local pastries in reception (That's enough for us. We don't need a full continental breakfast.) , microwave, fridge, recently updated. Bad stuff: old-timey brass key (a nice retro touch) didn't work in the deadbolt. We could use only the thumb lock. A steady, unidentified rhythmic tapping near the front of the room kept me awake the 1st night; I reported it to reception & didn't hear it night 2. I actually got up & tried to sleep in a chair for a while. Housekeeping left only 1 body/hand lotion for 2 people x 2 nights. That's just not enough. Lodging that boasts itself at #1 in town should have offered a discounted room rate, based on poor security (no deadbolt) & a sleepless night. read more

Overnight stay. Delightful front desk lady greeted us with enthusiasm, smiles, allowed us to check in early,offered us fresh baked cookies and gave us real metal keys. The room was charming, clean and quaint - loved the dial phone. Everything worked, coffee service fully stocked, beds were comfy, room was relatively quiet. Bathroom was small but water flowed strong and hot - no complaints! Donuts, fresh coffee and oatmeal for a quick breakfast, Check-out was easy - and again greeted with smiles and thanks. Will definitely stay here again on trips along the coast. Oh - and old town Florence itself is charming...the hotel is a very short walk to the shops and restaurants. A+ for service.
