They give you the code and you go to your Yurt which is away from everyone else at the campground. You have your own little dock, backyard, outdoor cooking area, sunroom with a shower, and the Yurt itself is like a home/suite-like hotel room but in a Yurt. After a long day of driving, being able to just go to your room and walk right in, especially with young kids in the car, is such an added bonus. I've literally felt like I've had the place to myself these last few days and it's heavenly. Being away from it all means my kids aren't bothering anyone when they're out playing at 6:00 in the morning, and we've been sleeping like logs by 9:00 because it's so quiet --aside from the relaxing sound of water and birds. I'm pretty sure this is my new favorite place. It's so much better than the website depicts and I am absolutely staying here again. I imagine this place books up rather quickly. I got lucky and booked it 7 months ago with no problems. You can kayak (included) to Siltcoos lake OR the ocean. The added gate to keep kids in and away from the dock is such a thoughtful touch and kept my anxiety at bay knowing my twins wouldn't wander off.

A few days before checking in, we stopped by and I was quoted 80.11 with taxes & fees after the aarp discount. Saturday am, I stopped in to reserve the room and asked if needed if I could leave my car in the parking. The front desk said it would be fine & could give me the keys right then. Saturday night...the shower curtain was gross. I called the front desk to bring a new one. Sunday morning, the complimentary breakfast left a lot to be desired. Eggs microwaved in a plastic bag, cold sausages, low quality OJ..I can say the waffles were good. A young man entered the dining room and announced he was going to be pulling food shortly. He then stood across the dining room, hands behind his back...(im sorry but it was like a short creepy lurch..the teen years vibe). Sunday night I needed to print something from the motel business center. The lady at the front desk gave me 2 non working passwords and did not know what else to do for this situation. I also had to ask her for towels. She said I could tells from by the hot tub. I was going to wait for her to bring the other items, but she said she had to lock up the lobby to do so. ( all the guest rooms are in a separate building). She told me to fill out the door card for the room to get serviced in the future..we filled out the card previously & it was ignored. I also had to ask her about the charges on my bill. Sunday am we extended 1 day. The message from my card company was $10 more than what I was told. She also told me she would not be able to talk to anyone who could address thos for 2 days. When she finally brought my towels she informed the 90.11 was the correct rate. We extended 2 more nights. Still had issues with the room being serviced and per my card I was being billed for 3 nights not 2. The same day my other half witnessed a drug deal in the hallway of the building where the guest rooms are. The ice machine the 1st night had black specks in te ice. The hot tub did appear clean. Although it says keep door closed, but it was propped open. Motel staff smokes cigarettes in very close proximity to the doors entering the building with guest rooms I went to the front desk again....to ask for towels, to sort out the bill & to notify they got a drug dealer working out of the motel. The lady did not seem to want to pass any info on about the drug deal, made it clear she cannot help with my bill, although the people who can are in from 7am-3pm. I work all day. So Thursday am I went to the lobby, asked about my bill. Had to explain again the amount being charge/held is for 7 days not 6. The bill also reads as if I owe $180. She said because it is in parenthesis, its a credit..Then I was i formed they are not going to agrees the discrepancies with the bill til I check out. Not once has housekeeping take out our trash ..I was also told by front desk staff, not to use the door cards, to call the front desk everyday to request the room be serviced.... I will not recomme d this motel to anyone. It i extremely likely I will Never stay here again. I am also going to be contacting choice motels. I have never stayed at a choice motel that was this low quality in all ways.

In short, our stay was so amazing and peaceful, and we will definitely be back. First things first, the owner was super friendly, responsive, and accommodating - proactively, a few days before arrival, and in person as well. He was knowledgeable of the area and activities and gave us some superb recombinations (where to go, etc). The check in was easy and straight forward, and our cabin was ready and clean upon arrival. More so than we would normally expect, so we were happy from the start. The cabin we checked into was at the end of the motel in a beautiful grassy and wooded area. One of 5 cabins available for rent and each one had a fire pit, outdoor covered seating, a bbq area, semi-private areas, etc. Inside the kitchen had basic dish ware (plates, bowls, cups, and mugs), a spacious fridge, stocked Keurig coffee maker, large full sized refrigerator, gas stove and microwave... the bathroom had soaps, shampoo, and conditioner available... the living room area came equipped with DirecTV and comfortable seating.... And the bedrooms were spacious and oh so comfortable. While the highway is close by, it's a fairly quiet area and super peaceful at night. I got a small glance into the motel rooms as I was walking our dogs around and the rooms looked just as clean and put together. Very inviting and welcoming. 10 out of 10... we will be back in the area again in a few months and will be renting a cabin again. I've never felt this relaxed staying somewhere... so looking forward to it!

Had to knock on some more doors, when we found them they knocked right back (weird) and then acted very annoyed that we needed so much as a door code. Half hour past checkin. i do not recommend this place at all, while the lakefront is pretty the rest of it is absolutely not. Broken doors, poor decor, which I would have been fine with, but it was very overpriced for what you get especially after a very stressful and unpleasant beginning to our stay. Be careful if you stay here, you'll get an email saying "Your door code is ." You need to figure out a way to get in touch before your journey - if you do decide to go, know that their phones don't work and they don't respond to emails; for now I guess they are staying in cabin 9. Also note that their docks are decrepit and dangerous. This is no "RESORT." Bring your own toilet paper too. We were provided with less than half a roll for a couple of days but the experience with the hosts was so unpleasant that instead of asking, we preferred to just go out and buy our own.

The place had been pretty neglected for many years before the new owners bought the place. I get that it takes a lot of money to rehab a gem like this place was when owners took pride in it. The new owners are doing a lot of work on the cabins as I saw when me and my two friends arrived. I think this place will be really nice when the construction is done. The boat we rented was pretty rough looking. An aluminum hull boat which can seat 4 adults. Old outboard motor that ran like a champ all day but nothing beats having a steering wheel, push button or turn key to start/kill the motor. We couldn't pull the string on the motor to start (we're not as young as we used to be) which meant we had to keep the motor running all afternoon. We will definitely return in the hopes that with more business their boat rental situation will also improve. We had a great time motoring around what is a very nice large lake. The weather was spectacular with not too high winds and lots of sunshine. Brandon (husband/owner) is a really nice guy and appreciated that he came out after a few hours to check on us to make sure we weren't stuck somewhere. He's a born & raised Oregonian and knows a lot about the environment and loves sharing what he knows with others.
