We were really excited to come here, and weren't disappointed. They were relatively busy, so we had to wait a few extra minutes to have our order taken and receive silverware, but the staff was very pleasant. The food was great, the burger and fries were top notch. The macaroni and cheese was good too, I would have preferred a thicker rue, personally. It was a little watery almost. Had to give this place a shot since it's new in town, and I'm glad I did. It's a good little spot to get some dinner, or even lunch. There's a small bar area right be the entrance however there's not a huge beer selection. The service was great, everyone was very welcoming. Our drinks were brought out to us immediately after we ordered and we got our food no more than 10 minutes after we ordered. I was impressed! I ordered the Mac N Cheese Mania with chicken and bacon bits and it was perfect! A very good sized serving, the chicken and bacon were cooked just right. We came in asking about the drink menu, he was unsure, asked another employee, AGAIN unsure. Then we didn't know that dinner couldn't be served till 4, got here at 3. Which we then said okay, we'll just have some drinks & no food but the eye rolling & snarky attitude when he realized that's what we were going to do was very unnecessary. usually this place is amazing! the tri tip is tender and the service is great. And the garlic fries are the best. However, today I went in for lunch with my mom and we paid extra for garlic fries as always. This time there was NO garlic on the fries at all and they were cold. Not worth the $2 each extra. usually you can't pick them up because there is so much garlic. Then my cheesesteak was so over poward with bell peppers I couldn't taste anything else. usually it's a balance of flavor. My mom's tri tip sandwich was cold and there was hardlyany tri tip. Came in for lunch at 1:30. There were maybe 4 tables occupied. The host that seated us turned out to be the owner with a very pleasant attitude. He first looked at my dog, and noting she was vested and California registered as my service animal he never said a word except to say welcome to Old Town Kitchen, and then he seated us at a table right away, putting menus down in front of us. Our server came right over to take our drink order, and wife ordered Ice tea while I pondered the beer selections. Not seeing anything that jumped out to me I ordered water with no ice or straw. When he returned with drinks wife ordered the Pastrami sandwich, and I ordered the Pastrami Burger with no pickle due to my allergy. We both commented on how pleasant the music and decor was, far better than the previous restaurant at this location. Food arrived within 10 minutes, and we first noted the fries were hand cut double fried, and they not only looked great but were delicious. Both sandwiches were very good. When the server came to check on us I mentioned that the Pastrami Burger reminded me of the Bruben sandwich that used to be served in the now closed Irish Pub in Old Town Orcutt, and that I would enjoy it with a pint of Guinness. Unfortunately it isn't on tap here. He then said they had a porter that I may like. I saw it on the menu but it said it was a peanut butter porter in the listing. Telling him I was not a fan of peanut butter, so he accepted that and left. 2 minutes later the owner came with a frozen glass with a taste of that porter, saying he just wanted me to be able to try it, explaining it said peanut butter on the listing but he didn't taste that ingredient. Taking a sip I agreed, absolutely agreed there was no peanut butter taste, so why did the brewery describe it that way I wondered, and all I could think was that it was maybe for those with peanut allergies. Regardless I told the owner I would order it on my next visit, and thanked him for the taste. All in all both of us were very pleased with the experience, and since lunch was so good we asked for a paper dinner menu to take with us, this way we could plan another lunch or dinner visit in the near future. Just ate here for the first time with my dad and we both were very impressed! The food was great! I had the filet mingnon and my dad had the pork chop and they were great both were seasoned and cooked just right and we both tried the salad with their signature apple vinaigrette which was great! My husband had the special which was a fabulous burger with jalapeño, bacon etc. He let them know it should be a regular menu item. I had the schrimp po'boy. I love our neighborhood and I was excited when they opened up when allowed during the pandemic. However, the many times I passed by I did not feel safe going in because there was no public distancing being implemented at all. I called the restaurant and I expressed my concerns to the manager. He told me if I didn't like it I could go somewhere else and promptly hung up on me. What the hell was that? This is not how you treat customers who have concerns after a pandemic. I love our local Lompoc businesses but this is not one of them. If you have a customer that has legitimate concerns during a pandemic, you reassure them and invite them in if you are a professional representative of the establishment. You don't treat people like that especially in a small town. Perhaps the manager was having a difficult time but you do not hang up on customers when they have concerns at this time. I am beyond disgusted at how unprofessional this business handled concerns over COVID-19. I will take the managers advice and gladly go somewhere else. Somewhere safe. I'll make sure the Better Business Bureau is aware and the police department urged me to call the public health department. Stopped in after wine tasting In the ghetto, we got garlic fries for appetizer and ribeye steak entree. Overall it was good, a few mishaps, too much dressing on salad, the steak and potatoes were slightly cool and the broccoli overcooked. It tastes good, just a little bit not up to par. I'd go again for sure, but would mention these things weren't to my liking. Maybe needs a hot lamp at the bar to keep food hot while waiting for service pickup. read more

Everything is delicious! The ribeye steak is well seasoned and cooked to perfection! My kids had the clam chowder and steak bites and they devoured every bite. The dessert, I recommend the banana marble chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting. The waitress, Irma, was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu items. The steak was wonderful the staff and bar staff was excellent although the owner was a complete prick a****** he would not shut the front doors as we were eating at the bar it was freezing outside. So when you order of $45 steak dinner you pretty much want to make the customer happy. Because of his asshole attitude I will never go there again and I am new in town and that's too bad.
