The best early bird special in Central Coast. The chef definitely has mad kitchen skills. Food was excellent and cooked exactly to our individual likings and special requests. The bartenders were very knowledgeable with their bar and local wine selections. We enjoyed what seemed to be the bartender's music selection. While watching the games on multiple screens, one night was island style and the other 80-90's with Motown mix. The ambiance was casual and laid back. Only negative was that as the result of the pandemic they were short staff. We noticed that wait staff were pulling double duty in the bar and in the separate restaurant area. read more

My BF is a pilot and he flew us into the Santa Maria airport for lunch and we chose Vintner's inside the Radisson hotel to eat. I'm so incredibly glad we did because I had the absolute best seared ahi tuna salad. I could seriously eat this everyday for the rest of my life and never get tired of it. The ahi tuna was great quality and I loved that it had a wasabi dressing to compliment it. My BF had the cob salad which was equally delicious. Staff was friendly and attentive. We chose this place for Easter brunch because we have been here for brunch on a couple of occasions. Both times the food was good and the same for their service. Not so this time. Our reservation was for ten o'clock, which was when they opened. We were seated and offered drinks. We went up to the food service area, and none of the salads had spoons for service. There was no one at the carving station but that's OK, there was nothing to carve. No meat was out yet. No scrambled eggs where they were supposed to be and no one at the omelet station! Finally, someone brought the meats (after 15 minutes or so) as well as serving spoons. No one ever brought the eggs, so I ended up having meat and potatoes before my breakfast items. The scrambled eggs, when they finally arrived, were watery. The home fries were dry and tasteless, and the roast was overcooked yet cold. The mac and cheese was delicious, as was the strawberry spinach salad and the baked ham. Nothing else was remarkable. Gone, too, are the days of bottomless champagne included with brunch! The ultimate shocker was when we got the bill! Included in the check was an automatic 20% tip! I always tip and usually at 20%, but I like it to be my choice. Not to mention the fact that no one ever mentioned it, and if I hadn't read the fine print, I would have tipped an additional 20%!! This was a very disappointing experience. read more

Service was subpar. I had to fill the water glasses at my table. Yes we had a large, but reservation was made. I also had to track down someone for refills of Ice Tea at the table, as I did not see a pitch to fill on my own. Heck, I should have been tipped tonight. The bruschetta on olive bread was funky. Not only did she speak rudely to my friend when my friend was obviously upset and talking to US about it she kept saying "I CAN HEAR YOU!!". I settled up the tab and moved on to another restaurant. An other friend had to stay for work obligations. He experienced the same bartender talk poorly to multiple patrons before he brought his pilot's to another establishment. Five stars...I haven't given that in months. On this night, everything was just right. It might've been a 4 star experience, but I was shocked when I walked in at 5:55 PM, they had Early Bird specials but only good till 6 PM. On top of that, from Sunday through Thursday, the front desk gives you a coupon that takes off 15%that total bill. Excellent food and very good service, and great value...how could I not give it five stars? I was a little apprehensive walking in because the only voices I heard were a a group of 70 plus year old women, widows perhaps that talked about grandkids and medical problems. There was one family of three and they were pretty quiet. So, I sat in the corner. What a great view of an elegant interior to my right, and a dark, blue line lit runway of the Santa Maria airport to my left. The bus person brought water right away and my server Gina came by shortly after to bring bread. The warm kalamata olive sourdough was great with butter. I almost asked for more, but I'm trying to cut down on carbs.. There was a great selection of local PInot Noirs by the glass and chose one of the suggested local favorites..dang I forgot which one. It had hints of cherries and was semi dry, worked fine with Prime Rib though a Cab might've been better. The early bird special was $19.99 for Prime Rib, and slightly less for the Sea Bass $16.99 and the same for fried chicken breast, It includes a small salad and a drink as well as a small scoop of ice cream or sherbet. Does this meal make me look fat? I don't care, ha. In 10 minutes, the salad came out. It is a small bowl of spring greens, and not an lick of the cheaper romaine or iceberg lettuce and some croutons. The dressing was creamy with chunks of bleu cheese. Liked it a lot. I ordered prime rib medium rare, and it came out 20 minutes later perfectly cooked with a delicious herbed crust. It was supposed to be a smaller cut, but it was HUGE, typically in the $25 size in most restaurants. The server was right...the kitchen was in a good, generous mood,. It was well marbled, and melt in your mouth texture. The au jus was warm and salty and had a garlic, onion, and rosemary and thyme taste. Loved the garlic mashed potatoes, asparagus spears, and two small carrots served, not overcooked and had a buttery taste and texture. I had fresh brewed coffee with my ice cream. There was something special about this ice cream, and asked the server what brand it was because I wanted to perhaps buy it. The natural vanilla flavor was light but the texture was smooth and silky with a great mouth feel. Turns out it's Cascade Glacier, a small shop in Eugene Oregon, per the internet. It was s pleasant surprise. The total for the food, wine, and coffee with the discount was $26 including tax. I was going to search for a restaurant in town, but I'm glad I ate here, and would eat here again. ..even though they did everything to spoil my intent to eat more lightly in 2015. It was Valentine's Day. I had booked a window seat for 6 pm for my wife and I, 7 days in advance. When we arrived, we were seated at a reserved table by the window. A person came by and gave us menus and 2 glasses of water. He told us he was not the waiter and there was not enough staff at the moment to accommodate everyone. Customers were coming in. We sat there for 25 minutes, and still no waiter came by to take our drink order or food order. We drank our water. A couple came in and were seated behind us. They immediately had a waiter, who took their drink orders and their menu orders. We got up to leave and told one of the managers what had occurred. He said they could do nothing about it because they had overbooked. Really? Valentine's Day? No service? No flowers on the table? At $70 a person? I will never return, and we live locally. What can I say, the best restaurant with a decent bar in this town is inside the Radisson hotel. Seriously drove to two different places in this town recently just wanting a cold beer with my meal, no alcohol served. So I yelp search again, nothing. Vintner's is inside the hotel. Out by the airport with literally nothing else. So I google map myself over there and there is not even a sign saying hey there is a restaurant here! Nothing. Now after driving to two other locales with no beer. I'm willing to go out on a limb so I park and hike inside the hotel and there it is... on about a 6"x6" sign outside the doorway (by this time though I can see the bar and the sign is useless) I stroll in and grab a seat at the bar. My barkeep is also my server and she produces a frosty cold libation whilst I skim the menu. The fried chicken with fresh green beans and carrots with mashed potatoes and gravy, and a biscuit is my call and it was quite tasty. The green beans and carrots were farm fresh not canned and heated. The mashed potatoes and gravy were delicious, fluffy buttery spuds with a savory cream gravy. The fried chicken breast was near perfect, great fried coating reminiscent of my grandmothers the chicken moist and fork tender. That with a couple 805 drafts and it was a very good meal. This is literally the only restaurant with a full bar in it, and it's not having any signage makes it a bit difficult to find but worth the effort if you'd like the have an adult beverage with your meal. 3.5 Stars - rounded up for the friendly service and having a beer to go with my meal. 00627 read more

Vegetable was perfectly cooked along with the mashed potatoes for the pairing. The side House Salad with thousand island dressing is just addicted. Will be back for their other dishes. This restaurant is a fine dining experience located within the Radisson Hotel. The food is very high quality with excellent presentation, and the service is of the same caliber. I came to the restaurant with my family, and we made a quick stop in for dinner. We ordered the spinach ravioli with marinara, mac n cheese with bacon topped with bread crumbs, and an order of fish and chips for the kids. All of the dishes were delicious and cleanly presented. Brunch and dinner are both great times to go here. The Sunday brunch is set up like your usual brunch buffet with bottomless champagne/mimosa included. The options include your standard breakfast items like scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, etc. They also have an omelet station where the cook can prepare an omelet with your choice of filling (jalapenos, ham, sausage, spinach, etc). In addition is a meat carving station with prime rib and ham. The thing with this buffet that wins me over, is the seafood. The smoked salmon and oysters on the half-shell are always awesome. (They also have crab legs and mussels, but I'm too lazy to worry about breaking into crab legs early in the day) The food is great. You easily get your money's worth ($21.95 as of this review) with the seafood, prime rib, and endless champagne. I can't really say much about the standard breakfast items... how can you really mess up bacon and eggs anyway? Go for the seafood, meat, and omelets as they are always good. Notes: It's a hotel so don't worry about parking. Service is great.. they dont shy away from refilling your champagne glasses when they see you're running low. DINNER It's probably in my top 3 of restaurants I go to in Santa Maria on the regular for dinner. Some highlights on their menu... the prime rib (a must try), the rib-eye (reallllly good piece of steak), and the BBQ ribs (fall off the bone, and not overwhelmingly saucy.) Their wine list is extensive and I'm sure you'll find something you can get to compliment your meal. My girlfriend and I have pretty much covered the entire menu by now. The only thing on the menu we can encourage others to avoid is the pasta. It just lacked flavor in comparison to the other menu items. It's probably better than pasta you can get at other Italian restaurants (it's not that bad!), but when you have other options like the prime rib on the menu for a comparable price... just avoid the pasta. Notes: If you'd like, you can bring your own bottle of wine for a corkage fee. Prices vary between $18-$35... with most options being in the low to mid 20's. Ambiance is ok. Huge windows you can look out of and see planes land. Decor reminds me of a cruise ship or something you'd see in Titanic... not sure if that's just me. All in all, it's a solid place to go to for your brunch fix or a nice dinner. If you decide to, go in the bar and have some of their bar menu items (burger is good, jalapeno poppers weren't bad, quesadilla is made with queso fresco so it was pretty good). My review is for the food only. I can't speak to the actual restaurant. I ordered room service while staying at the Radisson and the food comes directly from Vintner's. I had buffalo wings, prime rib, and iced tea. The tea was the best thing on the tray. The wings were a bit overcooked and DRY - seriously, why so stingy on the sauce? They were also very bland, so no seasoning or sauce on the wings, Vintners? To add insult to injury, the prime rib was overcooked and aside from the crust, bland as well. Thank goodness the au jus was amazing because it saved the actual cut of meat. The garlic mashed potatoes were bland as well. It's like these guys are afraid to use basic salt & pepper. Unacceptable. Overall, given the price point, I was very disappointed. I had really high expectations and none were met. Honestly, I can't recommend this place nor can I say I'd return if I came back to the hotel. read more

Quiet classy atmosphere with views of the runways of the bustling Santa Maria Airport :) Service is pretty lacking considering the place is always pretty empty. If I could give this restaurant, Vintner's Grill, a zero star rating, I absolutely would. Following my brother's rosary , the night before his funeral, we walked in the restaurant to eat around 8:05 pm on a Monday. Many of the people visiting were from out of town and staying at the hotel it is attached to (so a reasonable location - so u thought). I told the front desk hostess that there were probably about 18-20 people coming at that moment for dinner. Knowing their last serve time was 9pm, this also seemed reasonable. I was immediately greeted by a very passive aggressive young woman named Zoey. She told me that that probably wasn't possible, but I assured her we could sit at multiple tables. She stormed off for about two minutes saying she would have to ask her manager. When she returned, she said ...fine, you can stay, but you need to order immediately and be out by 9pm. I obliged and we all sat down. The workers began slamming water carafes on the table in a very angry manner. Zoey then came to say everyone needs to order immediately and will there be separate checks? I informed her there would be several, but we could instruct her who belonged to what party. At this point, she looked like she was about to lose her mind. I got up and said I would just go to the next door bar at the hotel and eat there.., she seemed happy about this. This was the point I asked for her name. Shortly after this, she was very rude to my father(yes, he just lost his son)... so he walked out. Little by little, the whole party of 20 left her. The restaurant that could have had such a profit that night stood empty by 8:30pm. So much for good service and understanding how to manage a situation. Zoey was awful, but she commanded such a negative presence that almost her whole staff reflected her poor and angry attitude. Not sure this restaurant can survive on such negative service and negative press. Very sad all the way around. I hope someone in this hotel steps up to direct their restaurant staff to be better stewards of service... just disgusting and disgraceful. read more

Horrible place. Decent food, with terrible service. Understaffed. Went for brunch (hours 10-3), arrived at 11:10 for 11:15 reservation and as soon as we sat down, told they are already out of prime rib. Mgr. Apologized and said they didn't think they would be that busy, so kitchen didn't order enough ? Waiter was terrible. Our food took 45 minutes to arrive, after we ordered. He never checked on us, or came by to take our empty/dirty plates, or ask if we wanted refills, nothing. Only came by when we flagged him down, and half the time he heard but pretended he didn't hear us call him. The table behind us was also very unsatisfied, as I heard the man say, "all I want is some coffee". Husband ordered a simple ham and provolone cheese omelette with no veggies, and his omelet was full of veggies and cheddar cheese !! ...when we finally got a hold of the waiter to tell him, he let out a big sigh and said, oh no, want me to have them remake it? At that point my husband was so irritated, we told him, forget it, we don't want to wait another hour for them to remake omelette! I can literally go on and on, and I feel like I am. We asked for coffee, the guy brings coffee carafe but no cups, cream or sugar! SO ridiculous! The reason for the 2 stars and not 1, is that the manager discounted the check by 50% and waiter apologized, at the very end for the slow service, etc. This place used to be so good. Maybe it will get back to what it used to be, but for now, we won't be coming back any time soon. read more

We had Valentine's dinner at the Vintners. We chose this place because we had such a great experience having brunch for a birthday. I gave to say I was very disappointed. We were seated promptly then waited over 20 minutes for someone to come to the table. Dinner and drinks were ordered. I had filet mignon, it was over cooked. My husband had prime rib, it looked ill a big slab of fat. We had waited so long to be served we did not send the food back. I can say the ceaser salad and veggies were good. We ordered deserts. My husband had a chocolate cake looked and tasted good. I had cream burle. It was cold. Like it had been in the frig. I have to say I was disappointed all around.
