ordered the roasted chicken dinner and it was so dang good. Easily competes with the mustard chicken dinner they have over at sissy's (my fave). I've been here before, only got the garlic fries and an order of wings, but that was enough to feed 2. Those were delicious as well. Portions are large but I love it because sometimes yo girl has an appetite. This time we tried the little corn bites, the poblano ranch is what dreams are made of. They also have a good selection of wine/beer/seltzer. Yes it's a bit "pricey for lompoc" buuuut like I said, they actually FEED you for the price. Came here to hang out and have a small appetizer and drinks with friends. I'll start off with the good and end with the bad: Pros: Food was absolutely delicious. Shared some Tri Tip sandwich and it was very moist and flavorful. The bread was perfectly toasted and not at all soggy. BBQ sauce was on point and very distinct. I had some on the side with some fries it great as well. Service was good, don't know our servers name because she didn't tell us but she was sweet and very attentive and overall great personality. Ambiance was nice a chill, nice place to get away from the rowdy crowds. Before I start with the cons I gotta give a little disclaimer. They are a new restaurant and wish them nothing but the best since everything in Lompoc always ends up closing. But they can't fix what they don't know is broken. So here it goes, nothing personal. CONS: 1) I ordered three "Mango Cart" beers. The server asked us if we wanted them "dressed with a Tajin rim." For those that don't know what Tajin is it's a spicy salt and Chile powder common rim for margaritas or Micheladas. We said of course sounds great! Well when I got the bill I was charged $1 to rim each beer so $3 total. Now imagine going to a bar asking for a margarita and asking if you want it salted or not and getting the bill and being charged for it. Absolutely Ridiculous. But if you wanna charge the $1 just raise the cost of the beer if not at the very least let the customer know they will be paying extra so there's no surprises. And all my followers know I'm by far not cheap this is more of an annoyance for me. 2) We got there at around 310 pm. There are no appetizers available until after 4 pm . Mind you the appetizer menu is nothing big or fancy, fries, wings etc. so don't know why they couldn't let us just order some wings 40 min prior. I'm the type of person that likes to chill and have a beer an appetizer at times so at least have some appetizers available for lunch. 3) So this last one is stupid but funny at the same time. Like I said we split a sandwich cuz we couldn't order wings so when we got the bill we were charged $1 for cutting the sandwich in half. Cummon folks, next time I'll just ask for a knife and cut it myself. Understanding it's a new restaurant I'll hit them up for dinner in a couple a months to figure out their kinks and re-review. read more

I came in with my daughter tonight thought she wrote along with me when I had a delivery to make into Lompoc. We were looking for a nice wholesome place with good food at a moderate price that we could enjoy that was comfortable. This place fit the bill. Really cozy comfy interior. Thanks to Tony Magana, owner of Old Town Kitchen & Bar, Lompocians no longer have to drive 15+ miles for a decent steak dinner. In fact, we can remain in our own town and enjoy, what I would argue, is one one best steaks on the Central Coast!! I know, that's a bold statement, but I believe they're that good. Everything about this place was great, including the lack of cell phone reception. I loved every minute. Healthy portions, well seasoned well prepared fresh food. The drinks were top notch as well. There is nothing special about the dining area very cozy. Being able to watch the grill was awesome and the staff were like icing on the cake. Listen in "Mac & Chesse" fans ... their build your own version is pretty sensational! Their portion sizes are huge, you can easily share a dish between two. The blackened shrimp and sun dried tomato combo was killer!! The pasta was cooked on time ... which was a relief, overdone pasta is the worst! The wings were a bit overdone, hence too dry, great flavor & great blue cheese dressing, just a tad over fried. Still good though!! The reason I deducted a star ... they are a new business, will give them time to work out the kinks.No hot tea or decaf, the worst part was their music choices, awful, it simply does not match the demographics nor their establishment ... my hubby & I are in our 50's & we had to fight not to fall asleep. They need to focus on ambiance (critical component) and unfortunately Frank Sinatra is not conducive for a fun bar/restaurant dinning experience. This is not fine dinning, should be fun!! Wine list supports the local wineries and then some. The music is awesome! Lots of Sinatra-esque sounds and artists being piped in. I'm always singing along (much to the dismay of my friends. We have had lunch or dinner from OTKB quite a few times since the viral pandemic started; this is one of the local small businesses that we are trying to support. Usually we order for pickup but yesterday we used their free, no-contact delivery. And usually we get burgers and garlic fries and sweet potato fries but last night I had their pork chop with sautéed green beans and a salad. Wife had the pastrami burger, two daughters had regular burgers and fries and son had salmon with a salad. Incredible food. All around, but honestly, my pork chop was the best nosh I've had here in Lompoc in recent memory. Food portions are very generous and prices are reasonable. I had no complaints whatsoever about the food. The staff was nice and food was worth the wait. Cons(small): The vegetarian sandwich was an 'off menu' item that I seen on Instagram. I went there specifically for it. So, I was surprised that the waitress didn't know about it and had to ask if it could be served for dinner. She didn't know anything about it and had to inquire about what kind of cheese was on it. Will I return? Yes!! When there for dinner and there was no wait and promptly greeted by the owner, Tony. We we're sat down immediately. We first ordered steak bites. The steak bites were small chunks of beef meat, two toasted breads and a small spring mix salad. I ordered the penne pasta with shrimp. The serving was generous. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dante and it was complimented perfectly with bell peppers, sauteed shallots, spinach and sun dried tomatoes. The sauce tasted heavenly and the pasta wasn't dry at all. My husband ordered the pesto fettuccine pasta. Again, it was a generous portion. The taste was great, and it had a suttle taste of pesto.. shrimp were cooked perfectly and was topped with fresh grated parmesan cheese. The fries were piping hot. The Ceasar salad was obviously fresh made it was incredible. Monday evening and the place was full. My husband and I went to have a nice dinner, like we have in the past, but I ordered a 7oz steak, which used to be 8oz and a baked potato as my side. when I received my meal the steak was only about 3/4" tall and only about 3 inches long, I asked the server about the steak being so small and she stated " I thought they cut it in half, do you want a manager" I did ask for the manager and then asked where my baked potato was? she replied " it will be up shortly" 10 minutes later the manager came over and seemed to have a bit of an attitude. she said do you want me to take it off your bill?, where my husband said what is she going to eat? The manager said well I can take it and remove it from your bill or you can eat it, but I cannot give you a refund if you eat it. She did not offer a discount or another steak. The potato finally came and was hot on top, but raw after the layer of cheese, It was hard and I could not eat it. Never an apology. I have mentioned this to several people and one thing that was mentioned was that when they see the food is for a female, they will put the smaller portions on those plates. My family decided to try this place for the first time for my Dad's birthday. Our original plans fell through and so on a Sunday we thought we give them a try. Overall, the food was good. Pork chop was slightly over cooked. Dad had the ribeye and it was cooked spot on. However, the prices are not worth it. To add shrimp to the penne pasta was $5 and you get 4 medium shrimp. A rip off in my opinion, should be at least 6 shrimp to mature it worth my while. Same with the roasted chicken, tasted good, but not worth the price. If we had better service it might have made it better, but our server was obviously new and set everything on the edge of the table not in front of who it was for. We had to ask three times for extra napkins. Everyone was polite and the atmosphere was pleasant. Music was nice, but a tad loud where we sat. I wish they had easier ADA access. My husband is in a wheel chair and my Mom is using a walker due to a recent surgery. From the parking lot to the front door you have to use a make shift side walk made of compacted gravel. Overall it works, but it was unlevel in spots and wheelchairs have to be taken backwards so you don't bottom out on the edge. We enjoyed our visit, but probably will not be back soon.
