If you are of a certain age, you know that every small town square in Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas used to have a butcher shop or meat market. And everything was fresh and cut to order. If you wanted really thick slices of bacon - the man behind the counter would say "no problem". For most of America, that shop is but a vanished memory. Something the oldtimers talk about but not to be seen in 2013. Except that is REALLY does still exist on Mill Street in Lewisville. A 48 foot meat market counter filled with only choice meats....t bones, ribeyes, porterhouse steaks that look like they should be on the cover of Gourmet magazine. And the men and women behind the counter act like you are their long lost best friend the first time they meet you and wait on you. And then you take home your first hand cut filet - the one that you asked be larger cut, wrapped in bacon and covered with their house rub - and you put it on the grill. You cook it and you taste it and you literally wonder how this marvelous place could still exist in a land where Costco and Walmart and Kroger seem to rule every town... And then you go back a second time and sample their sausages - made on the premises, of course - and they tell you how they make it and what seasonings are inside each sausage. You see a South African sausage in the case and you've never heard of such a thing .... but they walk you through how it is made with coriander and Worcestershire sauce and several other ingredients and you stand there amazed. In fact, if you are a carnivore - you will probably think you've finally reached the Promised Land. As for me, I was wondering how much room I had left in the refrigerator and freezer - because every display case offered up another special treat that tempted me with "that" look. You know - the one that says "take me home." The meats are superb. The staff is amazing. The prices are reasonable - really - and the specials are incredible. Today they had 8 oz bacon wrapped filets seasoned with their special rub for under $7 each. If you would like to time travel to a simpler time and place where the staff actually wants to know you name....and thanks you for your business....and exceeds your expectations at every turn....then this is YOUR place. The OTM is a great local real butcher shop. If you want personal service this is the place. They will make any custom cut/trim you want. They can also suggest the best way to cook various cuts. Great prices on lots of products and they run specials fairly often. Well known for their anniversary specials. Try the thick cut bacon and the bone in ribeyes you won't be disappointed. We are relatively new to Lewisville and thought we would try the Old Town Market. Man, were we impressed! We bought butterfly pork chops and had them sprinkle the chops in Old Town Market Rub - we took them home and cooked them on a charcoal grill - amazing - the best pork chops I've ever made. Since then, we have bought filet mignon, chicken breasts, sausages made in the market - it is all amazing. We have even started buying jars of the rub to gift to friends and family - it's a hit everywhere! Try them out - the meat may not be better priced than your local chain store but I promise you, the quality is much better and worth every penny! read more

This place is great. I recently asked for recommendations on Facebook from locals on where to go for a good butcher. 45 people told me to go here. I will say the quality of the meat was exactly what I was looking for and the people were friendly. I think there pricing is on par with say Central Market, Sprouts etc. Will they be as cheap as Wal Mart no but there quality far exceeds WM. They pretty much have fantastic deals going on at any given time. I ended up with Chicken breast, Sausages, a Top Round steak and some bacon. I like that they carry uncured bacon. read more

Best BBQ in Denton County. Sauce is amazing. It's a butcher shop, there's meat everywhere. Always serve sandwiches and then have a special of the day as well. Friday they have a 2 meat plate, delicious. It's so good, that when I took a brisket sandwich home to eat my first time I got in trouble by my wife for not bringing her home some. Been buying all the steaks and meat here for the last year....it's day and night from what ya get at a simple grocery store...it's like buying the garbage lunch meat packaged compared to having it sliced right there for ya. The filet and round steaks are amazing along with the chicken. I just got a lb of Elk for burgers so looking forward to that but have not been let down yet. This is a great find for lunch. I came in here with very low expectations. The place is a dive. Their's deer and random things on the wall. The place is pretty busy for the most part. I ordered a BBQ sandwich here and it was amazing. The meat was very tender and fresh. The sandwiches are very reasonably price and well worth whatever my friend hector had to pay for them. This is a top notch butcher with high quality, fresh meat. Steaks, roasts and ground beef are very good and prices are competitive with supermarkets. They also serve BBQ that is quite tasty. It is a good place to go for a quick lunch or pick up some BBQ for home. I think the best items here are the sausages. Sometimes when you buy sausage, you're not getting a good value because it has too much fat. That is not the case here. Just enough fat to keep the sausage from being dry, and not an overflow of fat on your plate when you cut into it. Italian sausage is excellent When I grew up, I always ate Italian sausage that had fennel seed in it. It just gives Italian sausage another layer of flavor. Good, fresh Italian sausage is scarce in D/FW, but Old Town Market makes great Italian sausage with fennel seed in it! Delicious! The German sausage is also excellent, especially the German sausage with cheddar and jalapeno. Probably the only place in the world where you can find German sausage with cheddar and jalapeno is in Texas, and Old Town Market does it up right. read more

I want to give 5 stars. I really do. Great staff, helpful, friendly, offer advice. Good-but not great selection, and decent not amazing prices. They do offer pretty good monthly specials. I'm fine with paying a little more for the level of service they offer. Would be willing to pay even a little more if they had an "amazing" selection and offered higher meat quality. I was told they offer high choice, but some prime and wagyu would be awesome. Lastly the reason for the 4 not 5, is their lunch. Went today for lunch, had a good but not great beef sandwich. A little dry. Had much higher hopes for their lunch, like I was looking forward to it and little sad. read more

They discontinued serving lunch as they prepare to move to a new building in Double Oak. July 13 is last day in Lewisville, and July 23 is target date to open on Chinn Chapel Road in Double Oak. Unfortunately this used to be our favorite butcher. However we have had a couple bad experiences in the last 90 days but we just rolled with it and let them go due to COVID. However, this time we paid for a prime cut of meat, brisket, and found there was basically no fat left. We had asked for a little trim, like always, but that Only usually removes part of that really thick strap down the side. We called them because we thought there had been a problem or maybe a new employee made a mistake? No harm. Just get us what we paid for, right? Wrong. The owner told us he was having problems with his supplier. He also said we could return the meat but he would never sell us meat again. What? Did I hear that right? I'm not sure about how you feel about the businesses you frequent folks but that was all I needed to know and we will never open that door again. read more

I spent $115 on 2 wagyu ribeye steaks. I questioned the lack of marbling but was assured it was wagyu beef so I bought them. I cooked them properly to a medium rare. The tenderness I expected was not there. I can honestly say that I have bought $25 worth of ribeye at Wal Mart and had a better dinner. I learned my lesson and will not shop at Old Town Market. There are cheaper and better quality products available. read more

This was my first time at the old town market. I was looking for a butcher shop to get some pork products. They cut me a nice three bone, center cut pork loin roast that looks great. I also purchased some pork butt to make Carnitas. I'm sure I will go back to purchase steak products from them because they had a great selection of good looking beef that was far better priced than HEB central market. read more

This is the best meat in Texas and probably the country. We buy our meat here as well as soups, seasonings, lunch and anything else I may need to eat. Don't let the exterior fool you this place is the epitome of old school charm, service and quality. How thick do you like your steaks? Just ask. My go-to for my beef bones! I make bone broth every week and this place has great bones. They are loaded with marrow, cartilage, and do not split. For $7 I got bones that have lasted me 6 weeks for broth... Great quality for a great price, can't beat that! read more

Dropped in for lunch after reading yelp reviews and was not disappointed. I had the sliced BBQ sandwich. Simple but oh so good. Toasted bun and perfectly smoked brisket. The sauce is slightly spicy but in a very flavorful way. Things got better when I found out they carry picanha (the signature cut of beef at Brazilian steakhouses) will be coming here next time I have a cookout. read more
