I've been coming to Old Town Optix for a long time since I've found out I needed glasses actually. Idk why either you'll spend your entire visit fighting off offers for extra unnecessary optical diagnostic plans when you're just trying to get your routine eye check. Anyway recently I have had scheduling issue due to the pandemic that have caused me to miss my last appoinement. Called in today to schedule and Kelly informed me that the Office Manager had a note specifically for me that not I'm not able to schedule appointments in advance like everyone else. I would have to call in and hope they would have an opening the DAY OF. It made me feel inferior and like this practice deliberative singled me out. What sort of practice does that? Revisit your policy on cancellations so as to not ostracize your customer especially loyal customers that have been with you. On top of that Kelly offered no consolation or alternative just a fake and sarcastic "Okay Have a Nice Day" despite my respectful demeanor towards her. Doctor Wilamart is awesome every time I visit with her so it's a shame this office team put me off. Anyway, office team needs to do better. read more

A lens had fallen out of my prescription sunglasses so went to Old Town Ootix La quinta Village spoke to the lady receptionist who was very helpful and was seen straight away by Bobby McGee who couldn't of been more friendly or helpful and had my sunglasses fixed in five minutes. Kitty Hoddick, one of the opticians, knows the world of glasses, glass making, glass fitting, and if need be, eyewear financing INSIDE & OUT! She made it a point to listen my specific needs and desires, and then she satisfied those challenges in ways that went beyond my expectations. Dr. James' examination was so thorough and scientifically advanced, that I was basically treated to a "Journey Into My Eyes." I got to see the inside of tiny veins and arteries in my eyes...and I do mean the INSIDE! So detailed were the pictures he took of my eyeballs that I got to see evidence of plaque forming inside microscopically small vessels! And his explanation of my overall eye health (which is good) was fascinating and delivered in laymen's terms allowing the report to be all the more interesting. Seriously amazing place. Everyone is incredibly kind and considerate.We are forever customers of Dr. Ron and his staff. My husband and I both wear glasses and randomly picked this place from our insurance's provider list. We have been coming for about three years now. I've even forgot about an appointment once and as I realized it we had missed it by half an hour. I called to appologize and was overly reassured it was okay. They are so nice and very understanding. My husband and I have different vision insurance than our boys. I am adding the kids to it as well after the horrible experince we had with Cornerstone Optometry in Palm Desert for our kids. Capable staff, but the good doctor is well past retirement, in my estimation. Went in with my elderly mother twice and the exam is unreal. The man talks your ear off--saying not much of anything... rambling incoherently at times...and gave faulty prescriptions for her glasses which gave her terrible headaches. And the prices... that's another story. I've seen far lower prices for the same frames at other locations. Repairs? They wanted over $100 to fix a simple temple bar. I called a place in Cat City and they wanted only $50. Don't take my word for it. Go yourself. Just be ready to pay too much money for something you can get far cheaper... and experience a truly Twilight Zone of an eye exam by a perhaps once good optometrist. read more

So my dad recommend me to go to his eye doctor that he has been going to for a while and it was down the street for my house. Honestly best time I had coming here! They have a very nice selection of high-end eyewear and it looks like they are used to clientele that can afford to spend alot for their glasses. We found some very hip, green Dolce and Gabbana frames for my 12yr old son. Had to wait 2 weeks for them to arrive. When we figured out that the prescription of the lenses were made wrong by VSP, they remade the lenses, free of charge and even upgraded his lenses to high - index polycarbonate for free! The Optometrist was very kind and apologetic and all the staff know us every time we come in! I would recommend this optometrist to anyone looking for some unique eyewear and good service! read more

As I have been wearing glasses all of my life and I find that the selection that is offered at Old Town Optometry is great. I found several pairs of glasses for various activities that I have needed for recreational use at Old Town Optometry. Plus I recently was in needing to find a company to put prescription lenses within a swimming/snorkel mask and Old Town Optometry was kind enough to find a company for me that was able to get it done at a reasonable cost, which I found to be very helpful. All the employees at this office are very friendly especially Dr. Jensen. He is unlike all the other optometrists that I have known. On one of the exams, he spotted an ingrown eye lash on my right eye and he took the time to show the enlarged view of it on his computer. I thought that was pretty cool. He removed it and i felt much better after that. I'm kind of superstitious as well. I don't know if I was imagining it but my daily life has been flowing more smoothly after that. And he didn't even charge me for that service. On my second visit the shop, I was just shopping for glasses and I saw him. So I ask if he could look at my eyes again with the microscope to see if that eye lash has grown back out. He took the time away to examine my eyes. During the examination, he found plug up condition on my meibomian ducts. He took the time to show me youtube video on what it looks like. For anyone who don't know what it is, I suggest they take a look at it. It is very gross. It is a condition caused by oil buildup underneath the eyes and if not cleared up regularly will cause infection. I'm so glad he showed me the methods to clean it. I would him recommend to anyone. It reminds me of the old tv show "Cheers," because when I enter I am greeted by name each and every time! I have not been seen by the optometrist here. I am new to the area and first came here to see if I could get my sunglasses fixed. The screw had come out and was no where to be found. They took my prescription sunglasses back put a screw in and had them to me in a matter of minutes at no charge. I came back last week with my prescription and ordered new frames.
