My husband and I and my daughter are locals, so for my birthday we thought it would be a fun idea to ride the trolley around historic district. We had heard that locals ride for FREE! We thought this was such a great business model. Clever way to get the locals to enjoy our beautiful city. Imagine our surprise when we show up at the Old Town Trolley Visitor Center and learned FREE didn't actually mean FREE! It was $90 for LOCALS! There was only 3 on our party. I can see giving one FREE and charging $10 each for the rest! You don't make enough money from the actual tourist that you can't honor your advertisement? LOCALS RIDE FREE! Even Key West businesses give FREE TICKETS or discounted tickets for locals who wanted to enjoy the city for the day. The only reason I'm giving 3 stars instead of 1 is your trolley driver Davy Jones the 400 year old pirate ‍! He was informative and funny and made the whole trip worth it! We rode with him from stop 5 back to stop 1. I just wish we had some dollars on us to give him a tip. He definitely needs a raise! read more

We selected a two day pass for two of us. My wife and I were here for our anniversary and to do some exploring and shopping. We had 4 drivers and three were wonderful. Irish, Jim and Troy were excellent. Should have been 5 stars ....except our last driver. But had a terrible experience with the last operator who was a young man with dark hair. He drove too fast, cut off a police car and several pedestrians. And then also rammed a car in traffic. read more

This is a great way to get around St. Augustine, and learn about much of its amazing history. We had 2 different tram operators, and both were extremely knowledgeable & adept at driving a really wide/long tram through the narrow & very crowded streets of St. Augustine. We parked for free by the main Depot/Oldest Jail. It was kind of overwhelming when we saw all the different "tram packages" offered; so we settled on the most basic one. (So glad we did because the tram ride takes a really long time.). There are about 20 stops and some are only like a block apart! They could eliminate a few stops and the entire ride would be much shorter! Then you'd have more time to explore all the wonders and hidden gems of St. Augustine. Some sights; Flagler College, Castillo de San Marcos, Ripley's, and the Visitor Center; we passed by multiple times. So... Pros- great way to get around St.Augustine, informative,fun,family friendly, someone else does the driving & you're hands free Cons-it's a long trip with too many stops. Visited just as Florida opened. Some limitations in place, all employees with mask and compliant with the governor's orders. The trolley wasn't a hop on hop off at this time, soon I am sure they will begin that phase (which I think would be an amazing addition) We travelled through old town, lions bridge, industrial wine making, of course the fountain of youth, and all the major sites. We recently did the old town trolley tours and it was great. The tour was about $75 for 2 people and takes you all around the town while giving you a "history lesson" every driver had a different story about things and it just felt like they were just trying to promote all the tourist traps. The seats on the trolley were extremely uncomfortable and sometimes there were 4 people to a seat so you were squished. Overall, we don't think we would do this again just because it's on the pricier side and you can do all of it walking and it's not that bad. read more

My mom and I were looking for things to do this week. We stopped by one of the trolley boots and Diana. My mother is kind of old-fashioned and didn't realize how long it was taking her to ask someone in training a bunch of questions. Miss Diana stepped in and answered all the questions, helped us plan for the rest of the week by the day, marked where there was senior discounts at the door and also the places where there were no stairs or elevators. This happened the day before yesterday and we saw Diana again today. My mother stopped to ask her where to eat even though she was clearly rushing down the street. But Diana stopped and suggested the Roosevelt Room. We absolutely loved the food and will look forward to using the trolleys in every city that they are stationed in. My first visit to St Augustine with friends was so much fun. We parked free at the jailhouse, and just wanted to explore the town. We stopped at the kiosk for the Old-town trolleys and it was a no brainer. On and off at stops plus learning about the history made the choice easy. Our tour guide/driver was Kit Kat and she was amazing. So fun and knowledgeable about the town. If I ever come back I'll look for her to hop on and see what new research she's dug up! This was a great tour! We recommend riding the whole loop first and then go around and get Off at what was of interest to you. Preacher was our guide and he was excellent - lots of great info and very funny as well. Two concerns - visited early February and the trolleys were getting very very full as the day went on Many had 4 to a row -- no social distancing for sure Also I was surprised that almost everything in town required an additional admittance. My family and I really enjoyed it night out looking at the Night of Lights display around St. Augustine. It was a cold night, but Scooter, our driver kept our minds off of the cold by playing Christmas songs and encouraging the passengers of the Trolley to sing along while he also sang along. The town is so involved and helps adds to the enjoyment. They called out Merry Christmas and Happy New Year as we passed. Sang with us and some danced to the music. My daughter even got a high five from a guy walking on one of streets as we drove down. Included in the cost of your ticket for the Trolley are paper glasses that change the shape of the lights. We had snowflakes this year. Last year we had candy canes and I heard someone mention raindeers and snowmen. If you tilt your head from side to side the lights dance! We purchased tickets to Haunted Trolley Tour of St Augustine, it was raining and thundering, we attempted to call to find out if the tour was being cancelled and no one answered the call. I called to see if we could transfer the tickets to the next day and were informed that because we purchased the tickets from a third party ( Viator) they would not be honoring the tickets and that it was up to Viator to handle this becuase it was their service. I asked the operator if the money was goign to Viator or to them, or if they were receiving no money from the $200 we spend. He simply couldnt answer. I feel I was completely ripped off. What a dissapointment but I hope this review helps someone else. read more

This was a super fun tour - it's nice for people who don't want to get out and explore the different stops and still want to learn about the history. The starting point is Ripleys, which was okay, but it's a discounted ticket to do both. If you have kids, Ripleys would be a great activity for them - but with me and my husband, and his parents, it wasn't too thrilling. But I highly recommend the tour.
