He tried , I was nice and polite , asked him if he want coffee, he refused. He took of his shoes , before entering my house, even I did not ask him. This shows me some level of human courtesy. In 15 min he did something with my TV, he put some tape in micro-scheme inside , now the left side of screen in not so bright - but doesn't matter - TV WORKS. I was charged only same $40 for coming . Manpret, from TV Tech, is nothing short of amazing! Here's the scenario: I'm minding my business, watching a show, then hear what sounds like a firecracker pop and my TV cuts off. I push the power button and there is no power/reaction, check the outlets and they seem to be fine. Tried unplugging everything and waiting a while, scrolled Youtube for a quick fix, and then figured my beautiful Samsung 42' bit the dust. I Yelped TV repair and came across TV Tech, thought it couldn't hurt to see if my TV could be repaired before spending a gang of money to replace it. I msged Manpret, via Yelp, and he responded quickly. After a few questions he declared what he believed to be the problem and quoted me aprox price for fixing ($150). Compare that to the price of a new Samsung flat screen - WINNING! We scheduled accordingly. He came to my home promptly, opened the TV, checked out everything, advised that 1 part needed to be ordered (cost $10) and that he would return with the part to finish the job. I paid him a small portion of the total and he provided me a receipt, on the spot. Once the part arrived, about 3 days later, Manpret touched base with me, returned to my house and finished the work. I paid the remaining balance, and again he provided me an invoice on the spot. Total cost $160. I couldn't be happier, and must say Manpret is a delightful, kind, and helpful person. Out of 5 quotes that were given, Manpret was the only one who knew right off the bat what was wrong with my 65" TV (Given a detailed description & pic of model information). He immediately gave me a quote. Once confirmed he was going to be the one to fix it, he ordered the part immediately. We coordinated pick up of my TV for him to repair it when the part came in. TV Tech rides to the rescue again! The same TV was doing the same thing and Manpreet (or Singh) came on out to check the situation for us. He arrived on a day that most would consider a day off and I learned that he (a) thought we could not turn on the TV at all and (b) he was concerned because the last repair he did should have lasted forever. That is great service all by itself. Actually, I didn't explain things quite right and we were not TV-less :) We were also prepared for the issue to be something else because the symptoms were a bit different. Turned out that was indeed the case. The 8ish year old TV's video card or something was going out. Cost for the part and a modest labor charge would be just slightly less than a new TV because they were on sale. Singh could have pushed us to repair the TV but that's not how he does business. Instead, when we told him we would just as soon get a new one, he made a couple suggestions and offered to set a new one up for free. Later, he took the old TV away, saving me a schlep to the recycling place. If he fixes it and someone else enjoys it for a while that's fine with me. I first found Manpreet 4 years ago when my big screen TV wouldn't turn on. He came to my house exactly on time, looked at my TV for 5 minutes, and told me I needed a new bulb. He ordered it for me, and returned a few days later to install it. He was very professional, neat, polite, and trustworthy. Last week my TV would occasionally turn off for no reason. I called Manpreet again, and he came the next day. My TV worked while he was here. He is so honest that he told me my bulb still had some life yet, and I should call him again in a few weeks or months when the problem worsened. I didn't actually get my TV repaired by this company. However, the person who I talked to was upfront and told me that the design of my TV was not worth repairing and also gave me advice on what TV to buy in the future that would have components that are separate and actually worth repairing if I had a problem. Essentially, my television had multiple parts combined so a repair would essentially be a replacement. All other companies I talked to either could not give me an estimate (which would require me paying for them to open it up), or didn't get back to me. We tried to install a Bose soundbar on an older Sony Bravia, but no sound. I spent hours on the internet to find a solution, but I suspected that the Xfinity X1 extension box had something to do with our issue. Manpreet's work and professionalism is very consistent with the other reviews. I acquired a free 37" flat screen TV from my aunt that wasn't turning on properly (she did warn me about that before I decided to take it off her hands). He is a miracle worker & was able to identify AND fixed the problem in less than an hour. The rate was very reasonable and work is guaranteed for 3 mos. My 60" large screen TV started turning itself off and then on again. It's about 10 years old and I'm bracing myself to have to buy a new one, but I really like it and don't want to spend the money. But I got a return call just a little later and Singh came RIGHT OVER!! He not only fixed my TV, but also set up my new BlueRay and fixed something on my security system that had been bothering me! Singh is the Best! Recently, Singh mounted a huge Flat TV, also installing a keyboard and the accessories used as a PC. He stated he never installed one prior, but he figured it out, and the TV and PC are working perfect! Singh is very responsive, you don't have to wait for days for an appointment. Singh is very efficient, works fast, and gets the job done. I needed a TV repair person for another Large Flat TV about 3 years ago, I found Singh, and since then I can call him for anything. He's set up my copier printers. He set up my stereo system and speakers, it was smooth, no wires, again getting it done quickly. Singh can pretty much fix, repair and troubleshoot any problem. Exceeded expectations. We have an expensive Samsung, series 8000 plasma tv which we bought 5 years ago and no longer functioned. Sam promptly came to our home, removed and inspected power supply board, concluded that several of the soldering connections have failed, re soldered all connections on the board and presto, tv functioned perfectly again. It is now 45 days later and still works perfectly. By the way, Sam guarantees his work for 90 days. Sam is quite personable and very honest. I highly recommend him to anyone who is thinking about making a modest investment in an existing tv before going out to spend serious money on buying a new set. His charge for making a house call was very reasonable as was the additional amount he charged for the repair. We spent a fraction of what we would have spent on a new set and are thoroughly pleased with the decision. Even if the tv repair only lasted one year, we would more than make up our investment by buying this year's model next year at a deep discount. read more
