I've eaten here a few times, and I'd call it a solid breakfast spot, but not one that I'd go out of my way for. The portions are definitely generous, and the pancakes and biscuits are probably the best things I've had. Coffee stays full, which is always appreciated. That said, the food can be a little inconsistent depending on when you go. I've had a couple of meals that were great and a couple that were just okay. It also gets really busy on weekends, so expect a wait and a pretty noisy dining room. Overall, it's worth trying if you're in the area and want a hearty breakfast. read more

You can get regular French toast but then they have cinnamon bun French toast and some infused with cream cheese or cheese cake, not sure. Upon entering the restaurant, there was no wait for a table and was immediately seated. A couple minutes after I was given a menu, my waitress came by asking for my order. At that moment, I could only provide my coffee order. For some reason, the table was setup with coffee creamer but no sweeteners. I specifically asked for sweetener, but she forgot to bring any with the coffee. By the time she remembered, my first cup was half finished. I ordered the Texan with sausage. For my sides, the hash brown casserole and avocado slices. At other restaurants, the sausage would have been crumbled and mixed into the eggs. Where to begin?! First, I'd like to start by saying that Old West Cafe's skillet choices don't receive the love they're due. The Philly Skillet with its bell peppers and mushrooms was a beautiful excuse to have the taste of a cheese steak in the morning. The blueberry pancake was my wife's so I can't speak to its taste but it did appear quite enjoyable. This place is amazing. Huge and delicious portions . The biscuit and gravy was good, the gravy a tad on the thin side but I enjoyed it and I'm picky about my gravy. The huge cinnamon roll was yummy. A table for two was immediately available, I felt sort of bad for the larger groups waiting outside... after those three seconds of self torment, we were seated and this adventure began. Old West has become our stop when we pick up our son at the airport. They have great Texas food with a Texas ambiance. The service is also "Texas." Many natives pride ourselves for being friendly. So far, all of our servers have been super friendly! I got the Bandit, two eggs, bacon, biscuits n gravy. It was delicious! My son got some pumpkin flapjacks. We saw all the great reviews and that was the reason why we came for breakfast. Definitely a let down and not a good experience. The atmosphere was very cool and western theme. The food came out extremely fast which was plus. Our waitress was not very friendly and barely came around. We had to ask another waitress for an item because we could not find her. When paying for the bill, everything is electronic and stood over while I'm trying to give a tip. Which I was not going to give 20% because definitely did not earn it but gave it to her anyways. This place gets really packed. Especially on a Sunday, you might want to come in before 10 AM. Once you walk in, you are greeted and either seated or they will take your name. Once you get seated, the staff is really friendly and ready to get your order taken care of. The food is really delicious. I would really recommend the hash brown casserole. It was awesome. The inside gets extremely loud. On this visit, there were children, crying, and screaming, the only major drawback. The lighting is somewhat dim, and the tables are somewhat small. Old West Cafe has a lot on their menu but it's mostly the traditional food items which if done right is perfectly fine. They really need a bigger parking lot and it felt very crowded inside. The food came out fairly quickly considering how many people were there. My boyfriend and I both got omelets and really enjoyed them and the fresh made salsa makes such a difference. Came here for some brunch and the place was pretty packed, which is a good sign. We were seated right away and our waiter was friendly. I ordered the Stagecoach with a side of bacon, which was really yummy. It had scrambled eggs with cheddar, hashbrowns underneath and the biscuits and gravy to seal the deal. This place was just lovely. My server was great - April. She walked me through the menu and gave recommendations. She was also very friendly. I ordered migas. Understanding that a restaurant has to cater to the masses as far as spice level, i needed to add some spiciness to the migas, but it was easy with the Choula on the table. I ALWAYS need more salt in my food (well, generally) but a little salt and pepper and that Choula was perfecto and I appreciated that it was already on the table. I also tried the biscuit and gravy. Again, spice level needed to be adjusted with salt and pepper but, again, I understand that. What I was impressed with was that the gravy did not have that "flour" taste to it. The gravy was smooth and cooked long enough that it wasn't a congealed flour paste. I will warn you - the portions are very large. If migas were a dish that could travel and re-heat, I would have taken it with me. Overall, I would love to come back here. I wish I had taken photos but I was so hungry I just dove right in. I can see why this place is popular. I was craving brunch, and didn't wake up early enough for breakfast, and came here closer to lunch time instead. Luckily they stay open until 2PM, and i was able to get my breakfast items. We ended up getting the curly wolf and the gambler. The curly wolf didn't come with side dishes, but the gambler came with your choice of two breakfast sides. Curly Wolf: Fried Potatoes smothered in queso, topped with grilled ham, american cheese, again, with a biscuit n' sausage gravy, 2 sausage patties, & 2 eggs scrambled with cheddar. It's finished off with 2 slices of bacon on top. i picked this since it had a green heart next to it, and our waitress told us it was a favorite of patrons. We also got the gambler: 3 egg omelet with fried chicken, bacon & ranch, with cheddar, american, & Monterrey, topped with sliced avocado. Served with 2 breakfast sides & salsa. As for the sides, we got the hash brown casserole and a cinnamon bun. Both were excellent side choices. Both entrees were really delicious and both entrees were really filling. We definitely didn't finish and had to bring it home. I think this place you definitely get a good value for your money. Even arriving closer to 12pm, we still had to wait. But i assume if we came here during peak morning hours, the wait time would be a lot longer. read more
