I initially gave this place 5 stars, but after returning recently for the first time in a long while, the experience was extremely disappointing. We came in, got seated, and a guy named Omar handed us the menus. I asked if we could get two hot waters with lemon, and in a very dismissive tone he replied, "Anna will get that," then just walked away. We then saw Anna walk past our empty table three or four times before finally coming over with two glasses of cold water, which we never asked for. I told her we would've requested hot water with lemon, but she barely even acknowledged us. She took the cold water away, turned around, and later came back simply setting the hot water down without a word. When we were looking at the menu, my husband asked what the side options were. She replied in an annoyed tone, "It's right there," while pointing at the menu. My husband then asked if she could just tell us, which she eventually did. From start to finish, there was no smile, no pleasantries, no sense that she even wanted to serve us. Mind you, this was 9 AM on a Monday, and there were only three occupied tables in the restaurant, including ours. When the food arrived, one of the plates had dirt, a dead bug, or something similar on it. We pointed it out, and instead of apologizing, she took the plate away, came back, denied it was a bug, and still seemed visibly irritated. Later, I asked for extra napkins. She returned and aggressively dropped them on the edge of the table without even looking at us before walking away. Throughout the entire meal, she passed by our table several more times and never once checked on us. We left feeling dismayed, disappointed, and honestly feeling like the service did not deserve a tip--so we didn't. The service was extremely kind and hopeful, but I will say that they cook your food to order so you will have to wait and I think it's worth it. The bacon was superb. I actually ordered some to-go because it was delicious! I had the apple pecan French toast and my God!!!! It blew me out the water!!! My husband had pancakes and bacon, and I actually stole his bacon because it was so good. They serve my favorite coffee, which is Segafredo and it was just a pleasant surprise to eat here! Wow. We drove 30 minutes to come here for my birthday today. We've been coming here for almost three years, but our last 2-3 visits have been absymally bad. I have a feeling that there's new ownership or maybe they just can't handle the influx of customers since Black Walnut closed. I don't know. I don't really care. We arrived at the tail end of brunch. The hostess took our number down and said it would be 10 minutes. I never received a text. Multiple parties arrived after us and were seated. There were empty tables. We had to ask to be seated again. Never a good look. The food isn't as good as it used to be. We almost always get eggs Benedict. Mine and my husband's yolks were completely solid. Not something you'd pay money for, honestly. Our waitress didn't even stay long enough at our table to ask if we needed condiments, so we had to wait until the other table left to take theirs. As soon as she noticed we done however, we quickly were given our check. This had been our favorite brunch spot for a long time. We went out of our way to bring people here. Delightful! The wait was about 20 minutes but with how full the restaurant was, I was definitely willing to wait. The service was good, the hostess and wait staff were very nice. The restaurant is obviously benefiting from the closure of Black Walnut across the street. It's too bad they have not stepped up their quality to sustain this increase in business. Food quality is average. For most every option at our table another restaurant in the area has better quality ingredients. But the big problem is the servers are very much inattentive to the tables.. many times over our drinks were empty and we had to flag down help. Our server only came to the table to take the order check once to find all ice tea glasses empty and then back for the check. They have really comfy bench seating and the server we had was super friendly. The service was fast yet we didn't feel rushed during our visit. I ordered the barbecue chicken wrap with a side of fresh fruit. The fruit was really fresh and crisp. The wrap was good but I probably will try something else the next time I visit. We went to Townhouse Brunch yesterday around 10:30am. When we pulled up I realized that we had been there a couple of times. The first hadn't been great but the second time was adequate I'm happy to say visit 3 was YUM!! At 10:30am there was a wait of only a few minutes but when we left there were many people waiting for a table. They have fresh squeezed orange juice which is always a win for my husband. I had hot chocolate since it is getting cooler and cooler as the winter approaches. The hot chocolate was very good. I loved that it came with a mound of whipped cream - at least when I tried to take a sip. It was in a glass that might be used for a special coffee drink. I had to eat the whipped cream with a spoon before I could get to the chocolate. No, there wasn't room to stir it in without making a huge mess. The chocolate was great, the whipped cream was great but presentation might need to be rethought. We both ordered a breakfast bowl. 'Meat Lovers' for him and 'garden' (less the pepper medley) for me. When my dish arrived I stirred all of the veggies, the eggs on top and the hash browns at the bottom of the bowl. SO GOOD!! It needed a bit of salt and pepper but eggs typically do IMO. I also tried a little Cholula and it was good but totally not necessary. I ordered biscuits as my side then added a side of cream gravy. The biscuits were fantastic - exactly as I like them! I initially thought the cream gravy was great but as I kept eating, it seemed over salted. My husband didn't think it was, though, so it may have been me. I can be very fickle about salt in dishes and my preference changes not only by the food but also the time and day so there is little consistency in my taste buds when it comes to salt! Our server was great and stayed on top of everything. The one thing that I didn't care for was that she called everyone "love" every single time she communicated with a person. I came to brunch at Townhouse brunch on New Years Eve which fell on a Sunday this year. The service was amazing and our server Justin made me feel right at home and was incredibly attentive. I was waiting for a friend who hadn't arrived yet but the host staff was very nice and let me grab a table. For breakfast we had coffee, orange juice and the meat lovers breakfast bowl. This bowl was incredibly tasty and filling and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys meat for breakfast! Service was great. Our server was very friendly and personable. The ambiance was wonderful. You can really tell the owner wanted to present an upscale vibe. The Drinks: I had a watermelon mimosa. It was ok. I wish it would have had more of a watermelon flavor. If I wouldn't have known it was watermelon, I couldn't have guessed the flavor. The hubs had a Bloody Mary, too much ice, almost watered down. Not so good. The Food: I had the gyro benedict. The eggs were perfectly cooked. It was the perfect combination of creamy and savory. Such a unique combination for a benedict. Very creative. I would get it again. The fresh fruit I chose as my side was very fresh with a good size portion of fresh cut pineapple, strawberries and blueberries. The portion of the Benedict was large, I couldn't finish it. The hubs had migas. It wasn't the authentic that he's used to but still good. The potion was huge as far as food on the plate. The migas themselves were savory with a kick of spice. The hash browns were crispy and well cooked. The black beans were bland and he had to salt them. I would definitely consider going back to try more items on the menu. I went on a Sunday afternoon 12:15 p.m. and there was no way for a party of three. The waitress was extremely friendly, I ordered the California Benedict. It was outstanding. My wife ordered the chicken fried steak, it was well seasoned, the gravy complimented very well. My daughter ordered chicken fingers and fries. And she was he was satisfied. Townhouse brunch was a cute little spot for my friends and I to catch up. The ambiance had great lighting despite it being a cold rainy day. This was my second time here and I'd say it is pretty consistent seeing it's been almost a year since I've been back. Our server Justin was patient with us and gave us a recommendation. He was also attentive and refilled my friends coffee multiple times. After we ordered I'd say the food did come out pretty quick as he said. This place is heads and shoulders/more classy than ol' South pancake house that I had tried last time with my friend . Review coming soon. After that experience, I notice some things now. Like bare minimum things. So for example the food came out warm. Taste of my hash browns was good and eggs with cheese were fine. I think I'm just a little more picky on my maple sausage so I haven't found one quite just right for me. Maybe I'll try the bacon next time. I left my pancake for last which I couldn't finish. But I might say I like the pancake mix at home a little better. So maybe next time I'll try the fruit or other sides :) Overall great place to come with your friends. They did a great job. They must have been made an hour before. They didn't even bother to heat them up in a microwave prior to plating them. The hollandaise sauce was slightly warmer than the hash browns but also rather cold and thick. I don't think they bothered to heat it up before pouring it on the eggs. The eggs were cooked perfect, the avocado was nice and ripe, the orange juice was good.
