As always, after our movie my daughter and I decided it was time for lunch. We had noticed Firebirds every time we were in the area, so we finally decided it was time to see what all the fuss was about. (Well... maybe luck had a little something to do with it. ) As soon as we walked through the doors, we were warmly greeted by Ms. Jenna, our hostess. She welcomed us with a beautiful smile, was very polite and kind, and escorted us to a booth in Ms. Destinee's section. While we were there, we also had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Corin, the General Manager. He was full of energy, very welcoming, and genuinely seemed excited to have us there. It didn't take long to notice that his positive attitude had rubbed off on his staff. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and worked together as a team. That speaks volumes about his leadership. Luckily for us, we had just missed the lunch rush, so we were seated immediately without any wait. The restaurant itself was very clean, well organized, and had a warm, inviting atmosphere. They also offer an outdoor dining area that was just as clean and well maintained as the inside. Ms. Destinee, our server, was wonderful. She was polite, welcoming, explained the menu, and gave us plenty of time to look everything over while bringing us glasses of water. To start, we ordered the Ranch Rings (onion rings) from the shareable menu for $13.75. They arrived hot, crispy, evenly battered, and perfectly seasoned. My only complaint was the cilantro, which just isn't my favorite. For our entrées, we all ordered from the "Perfect Pair" menu. My daughter chose the BLT sandwich with the Killer Mac & Cheese for $14.95. She absolutely loved it! The bread was nicely toasted, the sandwich was well seasoned, and the mac and cheese definitely lived up to its name. We also ordered the Salmon Club Sandwich with a Caesar salad for $14.95. The salmon was delicious, and the Caesar salad was fresh and flavorful. I went with the Crispy Chicken Sandwich paired with a cup of their Tortilla Chicken Soup for $14.95. The chicken was crispy, juicy, and seasoned just right. As for the soup... it was so good I honestly wished I had ordered another cup! Overall, this was an outstanding dining experience from beginning to end. Great food, excellent service, and an amazing atmosphere. Mr. Corin is doing an exceptional job, and his staff is a true reflection of his leadership. Without a doubt, I'll be coming back again. I hope to see y'all there! read more

My sister and I came here to dine for lunch and were immediately greeted by the Restaurant manager as we walked up and he opened the door for us with a big bright smile! It was a great way to kick off our lunch. It just hit lunch time, so the restaurant wasn't too busy and we decided to take a seat at the bar for our meal. The restuarant is beautiful, great decor, very bright yet great seating for small or large parties. It looked like there was private dining also available! As we perused the menu, we were greeted promptly by our bartender, who's name is slipping my mind, he was such a sweet guy! He gave us some excellent food and drink recommendations. The one drink I went with that he recommended was their 21-day pineapple infused vodka martini. Shaken beautifully and poured into an ice cold martini glass and dressed with a fresh pineapple wedge. It was nice, crisp, cold, and delightfully fresh! For the food, I was originally thinking a burger, bc it's a smokehouse, and that's what they specialize in, over the fire cooking, but his recommendation on the Hot Honey Chicken sandwich sounded too good to pass up, and in fact, had a missed it, I'd be missing out!!! The sandwich was huge, and after the camera eating first, I took my first big bite, and it was so flavorful. The chicken was hot, crunchy, sweet, with a little spice, crisp pickles, cheese melted as I took each bite. Just a great burst of flavors. The fries I liked very much, and now thinking back on it, should've ordered a side of the sauce they had on the sandwich to dip those fries in. My sister order the 1/2 ribs, which she says were really good, along with a side of au gratin potatoes, that looked like they came from someone's moms kitchen! She left nothing on that plate!!! Our first time here, and the Garlic Steak Frites was excellent--cooked perfectly medium, just as requested. Unfortunately, the steak arrived quite late, likely due to a communication issue in the kitchen. The rest of the dishes complemented each other well, and we especially loved the bread served for the table. The service was great, and the manager went above and beyond. He personally sat down with us to discuss what may have gone wrong and checked on us while we waited for the steak. We truly appreciated his professionalism and kindness, as well as his decision to remove the steak from our bill. The atmosphere was warm, cozy, and inviting. We had a family dinner here with 8 of us in the reservation. First time at a Firebirds and I had seen a lot of good reviews. The inside is a slightly upscale bar and grille scene. Impressed too they seated us right away. Now the one downside for the night was the service. The restaurant was only 1/2 full on a Sunday night but our server was MIA way too much. Very slow to get our drinks ordered then delivered. Rarely checked on us I under 15 minutes . So our drinks were often empty. Then our disorders came out staggered. That's just bad service when there's more than 10 minutes in between guests getting their plates. Now the food was exceptional! I had the grilled salmon and shrimp. Very tasty. My wife had the filet and it was outstanding! Everyone else really liked their food. Just wish the service matched the quality of the food. read more

Happy to say I returned quickly after my first try, and both times I sat at the bar. The service was quick, and our order was prepared as I would have wanted. On my first visit, I stopped for a glass of red wine and tried their Chicken Tortilla Soup. I ordered a bowl for $9. They make theirs on the creamier side. I have to be in the mood for this version, but it was very good. On my second visit, I had the opportunity to try their 7oz. Roasted Garlic Sirloin with a side of broccoli for $21.95. The roasted garlic was a bit much for me, so I removed the butter on top; it seemed to be too salty. The steak was grilled to my liking, medium rare, and the broccoli was fresh, and of course, my extra shredded cheese and grilled jalapeños really brought the meal together. My other half ordered the Firebird's Chicken Pasta for $18.25, which came with Spicy Asiago cream sauce, applewood-smoked bacon, green onions, and tomatoes. The Asiago cream was too much for both of us, and we felt like there was Parmesan on the dish as well, which did not seem to mix in our opinion. Our cocktails, the Paloma Mimosa and the Strawberry Cucumber Margarita, were both refreshing and great for a brunch selection. This location is in a great spot for food selection, and plenty of parking is available. Everyone was so friendly, and the cost of their selection is fair. On short notice, I needed to find a place for lunch with good reviews and wound up at Firebirds. I had a wonderful meal of grilled salmon. I noticed that there is an option that was a little more expensive with chili powder on it, so I went with the regular salmon and found it had no seasoning at all. Food was pretty good and pricing was alright. The family enjoyed eating there and I wouldn't normally go back again (without them), but they did surprise me with having a prime rib available, which also surprisingly was probably the best I've had so far in DFW; I'd rate 5 out of 7. As much as I love prime rib, it's hard for any to be amazing if you have ever had House of Prime Rib in SF. I hope they read this, but I would gladly go back over and over again if the prime rib cuts were better. Nearly all restaurants cut huge thick pieces, while that's nice for a steak, prime rib works so much better with thinner cuts soaking in the au jus. Everyone should steal that page out of House of Prime Rib's book. read more

Everything from warm welcome by greeter to the waiter always checking in to make sure we were satisfied with everything and providing refills, without being asked. Came by here with family for celebration and good fresh food. We ordered, "Honey Garlic Chicken" - $23.95 and "FIREBIRDS™ Chicken Pasta" - $24.55. Biting into "Honey Garlic Chicken," was like biting into a great cooked steak, juicy and tender. "FIREBIRDS™ Chicken Pasta," had great flavors and has right amount of spicy kick to it. We had to take home leftovers because portions were big. Service was great. Place was clean. I rarely drink alcohol, but I would say, if you do, you're going to appreciate their gorgeous bar display. I struggled with rating this. It's not 3, but it's absolutely not a 4. Given I definitely can't give them a 4, I had to round down to a 3. We visited for my father in laws birthday and were seated promptly without a reservation. Granted it was a Tuesday night. Since we were a group of five, the amount of bread provided was insufficient. When we requested more, the server complied, but it didn't seem like she was eager to do so. Here's what we got: Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls: solid. Better than del frisco's Philly egg rolls. Cajun Ribeye: the pictures for this item were exaggerated, because it definitely wasn't slathered with sauce, which is probably a good thing. I'd say the steak was interesting. I was honestly surprised and impressed at how bad the service can be at a location. I go to the Alliance location frequently and love this chain. I forgot that it was Father's Day weekend and the hostess rudely responded that they are fully booked for the ENTIRE DAY and our only option was to sit at the bar or outside. Didn't even get an option to wait for a table in the dining room. We opted to sit in the bar area. Waiter came by pretty quickly and took drink orders but that was going to be one of the last times we see him. I guess since we chose to sit in the bar area, we don't get the included bread. After about 20mins of sitting around, what I assume to be a manager (collared dress shirt) stopped by and had asked if he could assist, he got our server to stop by and take our order. Again, didn't see the server again for a while. Our food was brought out by another manager. It was obvious that our food was sitting under a heat lamp or something for an extended amount of time. The skin on the soup was thick and well done. The cheese steak egg rolls were sliding to one side of the plate with sauce thrown on -- no presentation like the other tables were getting. For the price of the food, this type of service is just straight up unacceptable. Meanwhile, every tv in the bar area was playing open heart surgery while we were eating. I've worked in restaurants and frequent them like it's my day job, but the service experienced here was truly abysmal. Clearly the management didn't have enough staff for Father's Day weekend. The niceish weather didn't help with people sitting on the patio. It's disappointing having to be accountable for a restaurants lack of management and planning. We arrived and were seated promptly and I will say that our server was absolutely outstanding through the whole meal. The restaurant was very inviting and had a great smell from the wood smoke in the air. We had several starters including the Onion Rings, Philly Eggrolls, Seared Ahi Tuna, and Deviled Eggs. All were tasty, particularly the Eggrolls. For an entree I had the salmon which was the best I have had! The vegetables that accompanied it were a bit lackluster in comparison but still ok. Overall it was a good experience but I do have reservations about the pricing. It is absolutely a good product but I am just not quite sure it all aligns to the prices charged. First time here! Great atmosphere, open with lots of windows. Fine dining menu & prices (but prices on the low side of fine dining). Amazing looking bar!!! Tables are okay with the more modern look! Seated immediately, sever very attentive! Speed of service was good! Huge, excellent side salad. Not a fan of the bread, a white, Italian, mini loaf. We ordered the Chilean Seabass. Ordered it with street corn and asparagus. The street corn was very good. However, the Seabass was average at best. Friends had the Salmon and the Sirloin. Great new place in Grapevine! We went early on a Saturday and they asked if we had a reservation, but said it was no problem that we didn't. Good service, attentive but not intrusive. They have a nice selection of mocktails which I appreciated. Full bar also of course, but I appreciate creative non-alcoholic options. They bring you delicious fresh sourdough bread. Salmon salad was very tasty and also the chicken pasta. We asked about happy hour specials for future reference and were told they have HH from 3-6:30 Monday to Friday. Definitely plan to return. Caveat, review is for a large group of almost 10 people. We arrived and we're quickly seated since we had reservations. The waiter was prompt with our beverages and no one ever ran out the whole time. We placed our food order which then arrived in a timely manner. Everything seemed hot, fresh, and precise to what we ordered. The execution was lacking though. I ordered the pork chop. It was well cooked, a bit more done than I like, but nothing crazy. It was really lacking salt though. My side was Mexican street corn. This bring Texas, I came in with an idea of what that tastes like. Fire roasted with crema, mayo. Cotija, and lime. It had none of those things except the corn. Lacking salt as well. The glazed carrots were divine though. Best thing on the table. My wife ordered a steak sandwich, medium rare. It came out more rare and it wasn't sliced or anything. One bite and the whole steak came out of the bread. We ended up removing the bread and eating it like a normal steak. Not a good preparation. The side was the potatoes au gratin. Second best thing to the carrots. The were cut so thin and it had a really nice sauce. I may come back just for the sides. All in all it was a good visit. If they would work on seasoning and tweak a few items for the Texan palate, it could easily bring 5 stars. read more

Our waiter was helpful and attentive. We arrived on a late Saturday afternoon (w/o a reservation) and it was quite busy. We opted to sit outside since there was a 45 mins wait for indoor seating. The ambiance was casual and it was a bit dark but not too dark to where you couldn't easily view people. Now to the food- First off the drinks are amazing and was def the highlight of this experience. I would def go back JUST for the blood orange mule. It's the perfect balance of sweet but not too sweet and it was super refreshing! The bread that is served was nice and warm, ignore the hole, I poked that myself to show the flakiness, but the inside is soft. The fries were seasoned well, nothing to ride home about. The hot honey chicken sandwich barely had any mayo, and the chicken itself was not spicy. It was super basic and not worth it. The burger was also okay. I most likely wouldn't go out of my way to eat here; but if I'm in the area I would stop by for drinks and try other well rated food on here. read more

Fun spot to grab a drink, app or some dinner. We sat in the bar area during their soft opening. A few TVs positioned around bar...good spot to catch a ball game! Staff/bartenders were awesome, friendly and attentive...worked as a team. Decor was fresh and new.... obviously, it's a new structure, located between Velvet Taco and Son of a Butcher. Plenty of parking. My husband started with a pineapple martini and it was tasty! A bit on the sweet side, but would be a refreshing drink on a warm day. They have a nice wine and beer selection, and large assortment of whiskey by the glass. Prices are on par with other establishments in town. My husband and I shared the BLT salad and it was delicious! We shared a burger with tots and I loved the tots - salty, crunchy heaven!!! Burger was good, it needed pickles, mayo and seasoning though. I know this was a soft opening, we will come back and try the burger again....we have been searching for a great burger joint since moving to the area:(. Lemon cake was excellent...all their dessert looked great! They do have a patio. I did inquire about dogs on the patio and only service dogs are welcome on the patio:( Bathrooms were nice and clean... the only item I noticed was missing from the women's room were toilet seat covers. I attended a Thursday evening happy hour. The margarita was handcrafted and very good. Pretty much made to order as I wanted it and it was at happy hour pricing. Additionally, I had the chicken nachos off the happy hour appetizer menu. Who's enough for two people or maybe three it was very good and unique. No cheddar cheese rather crumbly blue cheese with a handmade salsa. That was outstanding. Highly recommend this place for happy hour get there early. The bar fills up. My husband ordered the ahi tuna salad and I had the Bleu Cheese Filet. Both dishes were out of this world! My steak was cooked to perfection and the port wine, blue cheese and mushroom sauce tasted incredible on the bacon-wrapped filet (cooked medium rare, of course). We came on a Sunday night and sat at the bar because I hate being cold on a summer night. IYKYK. The bartender Stephanie was on point and so sweet. I tried the pineapple martini and it was very good. Not too sweet, just a good balance. We had the spinach lobster queso, recommended by Stephanie, and it was great. We split the hot honey chicken sandwich with steak fries. Solid choice! It's a really nice touch that Firebird's infuses their own pineapple vodka. The food ordered was a prime rib- medium rare with Southwestern au gratin potatoes, a NY strip- medium with street corn, and a side of port mushrooms. The steaks can easily be shared. The prime rib was at least 3 meals worth of meat! The potatoes were very good, cheesy, and flavorful. The mushrooms were perfect, I'm a sucker for 'shrooms! And the NY strip and street corn was very well cook and delicious. At the end of our meal our waiter boxed up our food and brought us two petite creme brûlée cheesecakes. AMAZING!! Walking in you notice that it has the classic American wood-fired grill vibe and ambiance to it. They have a patio as well as indoor seating, a big bar area, and an open kitchen. I rarely give a low rating, but I struggle to find positives. I came for a celebration. I don't know if this restaurant is not used to special events or what but they kept forgetting orders, getting orders wrong, and the plates were inconsistent. One server was very sweet and worked to correct mistakes. Sometimes it's a trade off: service is bad but food is good or vice versa. This place failed on both fronts. The food was horrible. It was a prixe fix menu. Every option on the menu was disgusting. The chicken and steaks were charred.. not in a good way and the salmon in addition to these dishes were poorly seasoned. The veggies needed more seasoning and needed to be cooked down some more and the mashed potatoes tasted artificial. If you're forced to come here, stick to their BLT salad, onion rings and pineapple cocktail read more
