One of the best quick food restaurants in the city, definitely a hidden gem. Their burgers are creative and the fries when ordered well done are simple but flavorful. The Pompei is my favorite sub, I know its basic, but between the fresh bread and the deli meats I cannot bring myself to having a sandwich from Subway, Jimmy Johns or Jersey Mikes. Super clean restaurant, definitely a Mom and Pop (Mom is there most the time) shop (which means you have to work around the hours the restaurant is open). If you want lunch food, its a good idea to order ahead or plan around as they get very busy (understandable). Very friendly family and staff that runs the shop, I don't do five star reviews too often but this place deserves it. Between Old World and Kellys Cafe right there, the rest of the city can have the Lizard and Paninis, the south side of town has all we need with Old World Deli. read more

Loved the food!! Andy and Rhonda provided the catering for my mother's 70th birthday party. The one thing that every guest agreed on was how amazing the food was!! Andy and Rhonda were amazing to work with. The food arrived on time, hot and soooo delicious! We ordered a range of dishes from the a la cartel section of their catering menu including 2 salads (so fresh, full of veggies, and plenty of dressing), pierogies, kraut and kielbasa, chicken tenders, meatballs, etc. My only regret is that we didn't order more! The guests were heading up to the buffet for multiple plates and everything went quick! The prices and taste are the best in town!! Nice little place staff is friendly . They have the best gyros I have had in a long time. I ordered a large gyro It fed two of us. It was approximately seven inches long and weighed about a pound! The portions are generous. gyro meat was tender and juicy, lettuce,tomatoes and onions , in a warm pita .The sauce was served on the side. They have a variety of deli sandwiches, salads, and mediterranean desserts. I love the baklava. Will be going back there for the price and the quantity is worth it. read more

I was in town traveling on business and found Old World Deli on Yelp and gave them a try. Definitely a home town restaurant and the staff and owners were friendly, attentive, and made me a great Gyro dinner with a Greek salad. My girlfriend and I went here for lunch today, which was my 1st time trying this place. We agreed that this place is a hit! She ordered the turkey club, and I chose to get the Pompeii sandwich (which is similar to an Italian). We both thought the sandwiches were extremely good - and pretty generous! All sandwiches are served with a bag of chips, and there are a number of kinds to choose from. I also noticed that they have many other items on the menu, including pizza, wings, salads, specialty subs, hummus, and more. They also offer a number of sides you can add, such as cole slaw, mozzarella sticks, onion rings, macaroni salad, french fries, etc. I noticed they also deliver, and offer catering for parties. ...Good to know! Another good quality about this deli is the courteous, friendly staff. Everyone there seemed very nice, they came by to check on us & talk a little, made sure that the food was OK, etc. Very nice people! First off, I will say they have THE BEST Rueben sandwich around. This deli offers a wide variety of cold and hot sandwiches, some great side dishes (gotta try the kraut balls!) and that old school deli feel still. Pretty sure it's family owned and ran. Definitely a hidden gem in Brunswick! Staff are super nice and accommodating, all the feels of a good mom and pop shop. Family run and you can taste the love in the food. I ordered a Junior chicken gyro. The chicken was a pre-sliced that had to unfrozen. Gross. I would have NEVER ordered if I had known and it was $7.50!!! Additonally, such extremely thin sliced onions, so sparce I couldn't taste, the tomatoe was 1/2 of a slice cut in half, again sliced so thin, I couldn't taste. The Baklava Cheesecake-0 flavor. I would NEVER ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN. Then, when I called the man said he would look out for my car, however he was too interested in having a conversation with an boy. Then, when I walk up wearing a mask ( he isn't wearing one) creeps inside the door as if I'm contagious and has to check on my "food." What? Food gets a zero 0 and the creeper at the door gets a 0. Whenever I am in Northeast Ohio I always look for a good deli to get a good corn beef sandwich. Old World has made it onto my favorites list. You won't find a sandwich busting at the seams with meat but you will get a sandwich that is bursting with flavor. The buttered bread , melted cheese and meat all come together in perfect balance. If they used crunchy kosher pickles I'd give five stars. After eating an amazing sandwich and then biting into a floppy pickle just spoils the finale. read more

I placed an order over the phone. It sounded like I was on speaker bc we couldnt hear each other and the phone kept cutting out on their end. I got asked to be placed on hold. They couldn't hear me and made a minor mistake with my order, but it was no biggie. We used the restroom while waiting for the order. It was dirty and hard to get back to with all the clutter, however it's not the end of the world. The man working at the counter seemed overwhelmed, but he was very friendly. We picked up our order (kids sandwich & turkey reuben) & it cost $20. I almost regretted getting the kids sandwich bc when I realized my sandwich was $12 (no side or drink included), I figured it was one of those huge sandwiches you usually get when your paying $12 and it's big enough to split between two people. When I got it, it was an average sized sandwich and nothing I was super impressed with unfortunately. Maybe I have been spoiled when I lived in Lakewood, but you can get the same sandwich at TJs butcher block for half the price and there's more ingredients on the sandwich. The turkey Reuben was okay, but it wasnt amazing. Today was my first time in, even though I have lived in Brunswick for 25 years. Excellent employees and ownership. That's the first thing I noticed. Nextly, the king-sized gyro was MASSIVE. This is a good thing! I hate having to order two regular sized items when I'm starving. But they have smaller sized gyros for those with smaller appetites. The food itself was excellent! This is probably the fastest review I've ever done after eating out. We figured we would try the Old World Deli based on Yelp reviews, as we are passing through the area. My wife and I are so glad that we gave it a try. I had the Sicilian sub which is a Meatball Parmigania sub and my wife had corned beef two ways. Her sandwich was piled high with meat. One half of a sandwich had coleslaw on it. I think it was called the New York corned beef sandwich and I don't know what the other side was but she usually doesn't eat her whole lunch when we go out. She devoured the entire sandwich. My meatball sub was perfect. Meatballs tasted homemade sauce was excellent the bread is excellent I don't know how else I can describe it. Sheer Perfection. I've really like this place. My husband and I are vegetarian and try to eat as clean as possible...which can be difficult where we live (how many pizza places are there now?).
