Every year I have to source banana cream pies for my siblings birthday. This year I tried 3 different bakeries. This one as the furthest from my house but I had to try this place. I placed the order in advance for the pie. Along with the pie I purchased a piece of cascade cake ( Great cake that many places get wrong). Good: They have a lot options Bad: I would have bought more items but there were gnats all over inside the display case. I don't know about you but I literally CANNOT. The cascade cake was wrapped so I went ahead and got it. My sibling told me it was a terrible rendition. I gave the pie to my brother on his birthday. He tasted and said it was horrendous. He went as far to say the people who made it should not be in business. I tasted it and I concur. I will never return to this bakery. I have bought several things from them because they were supposed to have the "best bakery". I wanted a fruit cake and called to find out when they would have them. The lady said they had the best fruit cake around. The cost was $30.00. The cake had very little candied fruit, no whole pecans on top. It had 4 candied cherries on top. This cake was so dry!!!!!!! When I tried to cut it, it just fell apart and the crumbly pieces were just NOT what a good fruit cake should be. I will NOT be going back there for any bakery of any kind. It was my first time here, and so glad I came to try their paczki. First, I was surprised to see so many different types of food items available for purchase. Rito's is part bakery and part deli. I wish I would have had more time to shop because there is a lot to see here. I noticed while I was waiting to be assisted, that their cannoli was featured on Food Network. I plan to order cannoli the next time I visit here. The person who assisted me was super nice and helpful. She packaged my paczki very carefully and thanked me for my shopping there. Had a paczki when I got home. Yummy! I really liked the marshmallow one. The filling was so good compared to a couple of other places I've purchased paczki. While the filling was super good, the shell/donut part wasn't quite as good as another local place. But, it was still a fantastic paczki! I really enjoyed the marshmallow one I had when I got home, as well as one I ate the next day. The paczki were just as delicious the second day. My family also enjoyed the paczki from Rito's! I didn't get to try any of the other flavors I brought home because everyone else gobbled them up. It gives me a good reason to go back to Rito's. I'm going to allow more time the next visit so I can buy more paczki along with other food items. read more

Wow is all you can say when you walk in to this place. There was desserts everywhere. Cookies, pastries, pies, cakes, even coffees and espressos. There was individual slices for those who only wanted to try a piece or could not eat a whole one. You can even get some regular foods there. They have an area on the second floor where you can eat in if you would like. The staff was very friendly. They did not try to rush you out. They even do wedding cakes. We chose Rito's to make our cake for our wedding a few weeks ago and we are so glad we did! While at the Strongsville bridal show, we won a free gigantic cannoli and then shortly after they had a cake tasting where we fell in love with the cassata cake. We had a pretty specific idea for what we wanted our cake to look like and after sitting with one of the ladies that day to go over our details, she assured us they could achieve what we were looking for and the price was well in our budget. A few days before the wedding I was able to drop off some items we wanted to add as accents to the cakes along with pictures of how I wanted it arranged. When we saw our cake the day of our wedding, we were thrilled at how on point it was to what we had asked for and just simply beautiful. In addition, everyone raved about how good the cake was! The cannoli cake of course was a hit as well, several people took pictures with the empty gigantic cannoli at the end of the night and everyone who got a cannoli said they were absolutely delicious! My only regret is not ordering a second cannoli cake bc of how amazing it was! Thank you Rito's for helping us have the most perfect wedding day! read more

Ordered a cake for my moms birthday picked it up didn't really inspect it also grabbed some other things got home to find I was over charged by one pizza dough because I only got 2 I only got 1-2 of everything and was charged for 3 of something. And when we went to cut the cake found the side to look like this (photo below) the cake tasted amazing! The flowers did have a artificial taste but over all it was amazing! read more

Rito's bakery is a nice little place to get some delicious desserts and you can also get cheese and deli food. From the outside of the building it's looks huge but the inside is quite small but lots of desserts to choose from. I have a strong love for Cannolis and they have those there! A nice filling and the shells are great, when you taste a bite they still stay intact. I also bought a container of buttermilk Angel Wings and my significant other bought a large chocolate chip cookie, and by large I mean larger than the size of a person's head! I picked up a frozen Stromboli, a piece of Napoleon, and a piece of cheesecake. I reheated the Stromboli at 400 for 20 minutes, and it was like eating it fresh from a restaurant. The desserts were excellent too. read more

The food looks delicious and tasty...but tasty it is not. I don't know how this place is able to display thier food so well that it looks excellent but the actual flavor can range from cardboard to so-so. When this place first opened, it wasn't that bad. Their bakery treats like the cookies and brownies were freshly cooked and worth the drive. However, it seems that Rito's got lazy and decided to stop really caring about thier customers or thier business. Very disappointed today. I stopped in the St. Patricks Day corned beef dinner special. They didn't include the coleslaw as advertised. Also the meal was completely cold. I live literally a few blocks away. So it wasn't because it took awhile to get home with it. I called Ritos to ask about the missing coleslaw and she said they ran out. Funny how they didn't mention that when I purchased the meal. They also didn't offer a replacement. Also when I mentioned the food was completely cold she said that the meals had been in the cooler and "you can just warm it up". After a long days work, warming up a meal is not what I had in mind or I would have cooked it on my own. Also to not offer something for the missing coleslaw is just disappointing at best. I don't think I will be going here anymore. Between skyrocketing prices and sub par offerings, I think not. read more

This is possibly the worst bakery that I have ever tasted. If I could give Rito's 0 stars I would. I have tried numerous items including cannoli, cookies, cake, and their highly touted pizza. I found everything to be bland. The cold pizza was absolutely disgusting. I remember my mother going to the other location in Parma to buy items. Breads, olives and some bakery. Having just moved to Brunswick I am delighted to see a Ritos here. I have gone a few times and have always enjoyed their offerings. Last night hubby went and for our 39th wedding anniversary bought some of my faves..... Angel Wings (GREAT) and a small bag of Kolachi (dry and lacking in filling, sorry to say )and Nut Horns (Very moist and great)...what a nice surprise!! I am 50 years old. I grew up eating Rito's fresh baked Italian bread. I grew up in West Park (Cleveland) and my grandmother lived in Parma Hts. She would come down West 130th street a couple times a week and always get a load of their bread (from the original West 130th street store). NOBODY makes bread like Rito's!!! Soooo soft when it is fresh baked, and add some Country Crock butter.... MMMMM She would also order a sheet pizza every Christmas. I am not one for cold pizza. I like it right out of the oven, but Rito's pizza is AWESOME cold!! Taste has not changed after all these years. Sadly, Gram is gone, but I can eat Rito's bread and pizza and it takes me back to my childhood. read more

Loved the baked goods we sampled at the home and garden show '17 . Planning a trip to Italy this Fall but how wonderful we can drive 25 minutes and experience these homemade trips in our hometown. The service we received from two girls on Monday was uncalled for, not friendly and when I asked if they served coffee, she said she probably did not have any left & did not look?! But another girl went in the back and brought out a new pot. They wanted to be anywhere but working there. And the cookies were dry and very bland. The homemade bread is probably the best thing they have going for them. Also during both of my visits the workers were arguing with each other which made it awkward. Rito's made the wedding cake for my wedding day. It tasted good, but they spelled my husband's name wrong on the two mini heart cakes that sat in front of the larger cake. His name is "Jeffrey" and they spelled it "Jeffery". I would not use them again for big events like a wedding because I feel like this is a big deal and they are not detail oriented. For smaller events, I would buy their pastries, but would find someone more detailed for major life events. read more

Thought I'd try it on a tip about the canolis. Called ahead to order. Was told there were only 6 pieces of pizza left so I order 2 to be hot when I arrived. They were cold in a bag. She heated them up in a microwave. Huh? Tried a canoli. Filling already contains chocolate, so you had better not be allergic. Asked about the pie filling and was told they scoop it out of a bucket. Over ten years ago I got a cassata cake for my graduation party. It was very good but I'm sure recipes have changed since then. I've never been inside the Ritos located here in Brunswick but I have been to the one in Parma and they told me that Brunswick Rito's makes the cakes and delivers them to Parma so that's why I am reviewing the one in Brunswick. I have a funny story. I ordered a cake for my sister in laws baby shower. The cake was a pregnant belly and boobs obviously covered up by a shirt. The cake looked great and tasted good but I realized as soon as I picked it up that they added a neck and just a little of the upper chest (the picture I sent them didn't have a neck but no big deal) in which they made the skin Caucasian. I thought to myself, "I ordered over the phone so how do they know she or I was not black or Hispanic?" Lol its funny but if I was not Caucasian it would definitely NOT have been funny. Anyone could have not thought to ask that when ordering but when making the cake the baker should have stopped and had someone put in a phone call to see. Someone would be more offended by making the wrong race cake than just double checking their race so the cake is to their liking. I've owned a home bakery for two years now and I have learned from this experience to always ask lol and no one has ever been offended only appreciative. The only pastry I've had from them are their cannoli's and baklava which are both amazing! Oh and I ordered a zebra sheet cake three years ago and it was decorated as I asked and tasted good too. The pastry was "ok", I guess. Tasted like it was made a few days before. My daughter says her pastry was fresh, so, I guess it all depends on who buys what, how much and so onn.... My biggest complaint was the GNATS !! There were a dozen or more GNATS IN THE BAKERY SHOWCASE !!! And gnats in the restrooms, upstairs, also. I am not a fan of gnats, of course, who is ?? Pleased with Rito's service and quality. Stopped in on a Saturday morning to buy cannoli and asked if filled cannoli would hold up until later in the evening. The lady working said they would be better if we waited to fill them and proceeded to sell me the shells and a pastry bag with filling. Bought a couple dozen Ponschkis for Fat Tuesday, everyone LOVED them at the office. Absolutely no complaints!!!!

As other have said their display cases look amazing but the items don't taste so great. We got an assortment of cookies and cakes by the slice to split with three people. Oreo, tiramisu, neapolitan, and cassata. All of the cakes were stale except the Oreo, but the topping on it was not very good. Our cookies were dry and stale too and we could not figure out the flavors. Very disappointing, I would not recommend them. read more
